I think the Kyle and Kim scenes are what the show should be about. Kim is a former child star, basically a has-been and that authograph showcase showcased a different part of Hollywood while I'm happy to see Kyle's guest stint on DAYS was filmed.

Carlton totally doesn't belong on the show, and she was totally talking about Kyle behind her back.. Pot meet kettle.

Ok just watched Apollo is an animal and i can't understand why someone like Phaedra is with him. Natalie is a stupid bitch. Girl, bye. Nene, I love you, but sit your ass down. Team Kenya!!!!! Something was up with Nene. She was pacing that room like a parched rhino. Was she stressed about something? She was so weird.

Yolanda was on WWHL and Andy mentioned how close she and Brandi are. In response, Yolanda sort of awkwardly paused and more or less played it off. Brandi clearly felt that dodge ball and expressed herself in response to it on Twitter.

@Andy @YolandaHFoster I thought we were closer I guess... We had dinner plans Sat. until she had 2cancel last sec.Hmm I guess 1never knows

Yolanda just did a blog about Lisa being a "Hollywood friend" and not a real friend. I'm not sure if this was a case of Yolanda being judgmental of how much of a friend someone is or just not wanting to admit to being close to Brandi on television. Maybe both.

Gigi, Yolanda's daughter with the tycoon who Brandi pissed off for life, expressed her love for Brandi on Twitter hours before that interview.

I love @BrandiGlanville and that's that.

"Close? Not really. We play friends on television" - National Television.

"I thought we were really friends. I see you, b--ch." - Twitter

Neither lady exactly brought the class tonight especially if they're really friends.

You could hear the audience not so silently gasping at her cool, cold response.

I took Yolanda's answer as they are not besties who have sleepovers and get mani pedis together all the time when not filming, but stay in touch as opposed to the others.

Her blog about Lisa was absolutely spot on. I love that she stated there's nothing wrong with what. I think we have had friends in our lives maybe we thought we were closer to but leane through their actions that maybe they are not a close personal friend but just a casual friend. It doesn't make them an enemy or not a friend. It just puts them in a better perspective.

JP, that's what I was telling myself after I picked my jaw up, but it came off really ... gruff. I don't know if that's the right word. Felt more like distancing yourself from somebody instead of making a simple distinction.

Was Yolanda originally brought on as a friend of Lisa? I don't remember.

Nene was on.....something.

That was seriously disturbing on so many fronts. That guy grabbing Kenya (I honestly thought at one point that she may have been overreacting in the previews)

I can't express how proud I am of that Brandon guy for not being a punk and defending himself against Peter and Apollo. That was just disgusting. Peter just held him down while Apollo just attacked him viciously.

Speaking of Apollo what happened to him? Has he always been this way? When did he start treating Phaedra so poorly? He threw her several times that episode like she was nothing but trash. I felt so bad for Phaedra. She may be a hot mess of a Southern Belle but she's done nothing to deserve being manhandled by her own damn husband.....

Lmbao at people trying to defend Nene. I don't know what she was on but she clearly started that entire fiasco and she deserves most of the blame.

    • I very much liked office Cleary and the actress who portrayed her (as you say, Mary Peterson).  A shame her turn didn't evolve into a contract role.   BTW, does anyone know the timeframe/years that Betty Rae served as casting director?  If i understand correctly, she not only led the effort for contract roles, but also for shorter 13- and 26-week roles.  IMO, GL had LOTS of very well-casted, limited roles, too. I'm surprised the actors throughout the soap industry, and especially P&G actors, have not assembled a book or something similar, praising Rae.  Each actor could write a few paragraphs or a page of text describing his or her experience.
    • No. Ruth had an extramarital affair with David while married to Joe.
    • I'm not sure I agree with Bernstein's children on that. Bernstein's life and activism here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leonard_Bernstein#Social_activism_and_humanitarian_efforts
    • Thursday & Friday's episodes were excellent. The build-up was most definitely worth the wait (2 months). TMG, I can't give her enough accolades. AM, was also absolutely incredible. I think the fallout is going to have a ripple effect. The little clues that have been dropped,  hopefully, will weave seamlessly to reveal even bigger bombshells for the Dupree's and Martin.
    • Thanks, msn drives me nuts on the one hand but on the other hand their headlines appeal to me. And, I just don't do FoxNews.
    • The link doesn't work.  The actual link is this: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/composer-leonard-bernstein-s-children-request-his-music-be-played-in-the-kennedy-center-in-rebuke-to-trump/ar-AA1E7gw5 That's a reprint of a FoxNews article. MSN reprints stuff from many sources. You can tell the source from the logo above the headline on the msn page. The FoxNews article is describing what Leonard Bernstein's children wrote -- as a "letter to the editor" of the New York Times. Instead of reading it filtered through FoxNews, here is the original: "Our Dad, Leonard Bernstein, Would Want His Music Played at the Kennedy Center" https://www.nytimes.com/2025/05/02/opinion/kennedy-center-leonard-bernstein-protest.html Non-paywall archived copy of the same NYTimes letter, without commentary: https://archive.is/QaLqD
    • Might be a long shot, because I can't find a thing online about it, but I was Googling the actress that played Nell Cleary (Frank's cop friend that went through academy and then became cops together during the entire Brent Lawrence storyline). To my surprise, she passed away in 2011, at the very young age of 45. I can't find her obituary or anything online about her passing, but I'm curious, does anyone know what happened? Her IMDB only shows a few other acting gigs post-Guiding Light, so she didn't make a career out of it, but I thought she was a great actress in her role as Cleary. Her name was Mary Peterson.
    • What was Ruth Martin's association to the Thornton family?  I only remember the daughter that dated Tad, and she had a buxom mother.  But, did Ruth date David Thorton before Joe?

Why didn't Steve respect Monica and Jeff's decision?  I get he's Jeff's father, and that's how it came out, but I don't like the ethics of the story. A stranger gets to make life or death decisions over a wife's demands?   I hope Monica secretly never forgave Steve's chauvinism.
    • Question: Jon-Michael Reed's review of 1977 is up in the retro soap section.  It includes a fleeting reference to comedic scenes between Jeanne Cooper and Julianna McCarthy regarding “Kay's would-be beau, Ralph the Plumber”.  Could someone please fill me in will more details? I forgot that Kay and Liz were friendly before Jill stole Kay's husband.  And the thought of Liz playing a comedic scene blows my mind, because I only recall her being dour both in demeanor and wardrobe.
