Same here. If/when Deidre Hall (ex-Marlena, DAYS) or Drake Hogestyn (ex-John, DAYS) finally turn up on Y&R, we all better wear protective clothing, lest we want SOD's you-know-what all over us.

I agree with that. If the writing is bad, no actor can save the show.

I actually liked most of Eden's work on AMC, although the writing was awful her last few years. I think she's a wrong choice for Heather and I think Y&R is too badly written for any actor to make it through, but that's not her fault. I try not to personally dislike the actors that get so overhyped by the soap press, but the soap press doesn't make it easy, especially when these people are swooned over from so early on. Billy Miller was the best recast ever before he even showed up onscreen.

what a horrible recast. I like Vail Bloom and ER looks so drastically different from her. WTH were they thinking with this one?

Vail has been Heather for what 3 years, what made them decide to replace her? Did Barbara Bloom randomly pick a role and just gave it to Eden. John Driscoll and Thad Luckinbill better pray that Jeff Branson doesn't come looking for a job at Y&R.

I don't hate Eden Reigel, I just don't see her as Y&R's savior, as the soap press seem to, the way they did with Muhney, Hendrickson, Miller, et al. I'm tired of the soap press having orgasms every time one of their favorites shows up at Y&R.

Especially at the expense of Y&R's own cast.

They were hired by MAB or Rauch or whoever. Vail was not. They don't want to admit they were wrong. The hacks at this show are all about ego and grudges, not about the quality of what they slap together on the screen.

John Driscoll is another huge disappointment. Such a shame they're screwing these legacy characters up. Y&R reminds me of McTavish's AMC now.

Bethel is another who is endlessly hyped no matter what he does. He always looks so malnourished and dead-eyed to me and yet he's supposed to be this hot new find.
