WTF is your problem? I said "as far as I can tell." You are just a bitter pathetic GL fan.

Not bitter at all. Far from it. GL was a shell of its former self and deserved cancellation. LMAD's ratings being higher than GL's at a fraction of GL's cost just proves that CBS made the right move. I'm actually surprised at how little I miss GL. I just take exception to your always know it all attitude. LMAD's ratings are very available.

Ann who THINKS she knows everything is an ignorant fool. I have LMAD's ratings.

Not an "ignorant fool", but she can be quite a hilarious car crash with some of her attitudes and musings. :P:D

I think that's b/c, like you said, GL was a shell of its former self when it was canceled. I'm sure most, if not all, GL fans miss it; I know I do. But most of us have had, what, ten years to prepare for this day (when it wouldn't be on the air)? It's not like it was w/ ANOTHER WORLD, which people were starting to enjoy again before PGP and NBCD pulled the proverbial rug out from under them.

Good point but I don't see how it can be a median either but maybe I am looking at these numbers differently.

You think a 3.7 is too high for Y&R's seasonal rating?

Maybe not. But I do think 2.3 is too high for Days as an average or median. And the demo averages seem off for both Days and GH. Both have had a week or 2 of 1.5 but have been consistantly in the 1.3 range for several weeks now.

I don't know about DAYS moving to another network. I would much rather see it go to ABC than CBS, simply because I think the people that watch DAYS are more likely to watch GH/AMC/OLTL then they are to watch B&B or Y&R.

I would not object to DAYS moving to ABC, but I am not quite sure when it would air. I mean, I really just dont think that OLTL is going anywhere.I think it was always in danger, but I almost wonder if ABC was waiting to see if CBS would cancel ATWT. I dont think they are going to cancel OLTL, because obviously now they will be the only soap airing at 2 (in most markets, or mine at least..), and there hope would be to draw in ATWT viewers.

I think that if CBS had renewed ATWT, then OLTL would have been in more danger, but I think it is safe for now...So if ABC picked up DAYS, I would hope it just aired at 1. I would move AMC to noon, and put DAYS at 1, because it would provide a strong lead in for OLTL, which needs it more than AMC.

If Days went to CBS, I would move Y&R to 12-1, B&B from 1-2 (expand to an hour), and put DAYS on in ATWT's slot of 2-3. However, if ATWT got renewed last minute, then Id just put DAYS on at 3.

A lot of those moves are nearly impossible without some kind of cancellation. ABC Daytime and CBS Daytime have a set amount of time that belongs to them. The rest of the time belongs to the affiliates, who likely won't give time back to the networks.

ABC can't add DAYS without canceling something else. ABCD has 4 hours of programming, including THE VIEW. They used to have 4.5 but they gave the half hour that used to belong to PORT CHARLES back to the affiliates when that show was canceled. So they don't have a time slot for DAYS unless they cancel something else.

Similarly, CBSD has 4.5 hours of programming. 2.5 hours of that time are available to soaps, since the other two are taken by PRICE IS RIGHT and LETS MAKE A DEAL. So you can't expand B&B to an hour and add DAYS at the same time unless something gives with TPIR or LMAD. And given that CBS is pulling in comparable or better ratings with LMAD (when compared to GL) at half the cost, why would they want to take that time and give it to soaps?

And the odds of a soap airing at 12 PM in east coast markets isn't very likely since that 12 PM hour belongs to the affiliates, many of which use it for local news.

But I dont really think DAYS will leave NBC. If Sony wanted it to move, I think NBC would fight for it, because it is the bright spot of their daytime lineup.

A lot would depend on the current agreement between Sony and NBC. For instance, does NBC have first refusal rights for DAYS, with a specific time where they have to exercise that option? If it does, SONY can't shop it elsewhere, whether they want to or not, until they are clear of NBC's option period.

I totally acknowledge this, but I'm not alone in this at SON. :) Most importantly, I don't usually go around using pejorative terms to insult others when they don't agree with me or when they are right and I am wrong. If only because I am an adult and it is against SON's rules last time I checked.

I know, Ann, I really do like you. I say that with no sarcasm. :) And yes, you're one of the most polite and gracious posters.

Then why didn't you post them?

Let Ann know it all post the ratings then. She knows it all.

Um, Ann never said she knew everything in her post. She simply said that while she hadn't seen any numbers for LMAD, she'd read in an article about ATWT's cancellation that LMAD was doing well. Better than GL in fact. She never said that she knew the exact numbers. You did. That puts the onus on you to produce them if you have a point to make. When someone else posted them, they proved Ann right. LMAD is out-performing GL, especially when it's cost is taken into account.

Is there some reason you're being so hostile and rude?

I believe the numbers published here weekly included the DVR numbers. If you read SOW the ratings there are always a few points lower because they don't include DVR.

Right. that's the "plus Same Day" in the "Live plus Same Day" ratings.

What I was talking about were viewers that view the show on DVR up to 7 days after airing.

I found this from one of the NBC/DOOL press releases:

Ratings reflect "live plus same day" data from Nielsen Media Research unless otherwise noted. Season-to-date figures are averages of "live plus seven day" data except for the two most recent weeks, which are "live plus same day."

Thanks Mary Beth. It now makes sense.

So will the ratings that would be posted this week be delayed cause of the holiday?

We'll be lucky if we get the ratings by Monday. The next two weeks the ratings are delayed longer than usual.
