Members Soapsuds
And ATWT 18-49 demos go up...lol....the highest in some time now....LOL....whatever...lol All of ABC is in the gutter. JJ did nothing for GH ratings. Days is back at 2.0. Soaps that are left have a year remaining I tell you.
Members Sylph
If only Y&R touched 3.2... For a week, then rebound for two more, then touch 3.0... Panic!
Members quartermainefan
The story is over, so I think it only makes sense ratings recede a little. They are trying to extend it with this kidnapping postscript, but clearly people see it is over and moved on. 2.0 isn't terrible considering what their ratings were a year or two ago. Members Khan
True. But we know this won't stop KC from going to the office on Monday, firing Tomlin AND Whitesell, and replacing them w/ Liza de Cazotte and James E. Reilly's ghost, respectively. Members Ann_SS
There is a ceiling in the demos that all the soaps including Days cannot surpass. The baby switch climax is probably Days' ceiling. It should rebound to some degree, but won't go as high as it was a couple weeks ago. For the most apart, the ABC soaps have stabilized their demos, but the network cannot be happy with GH. ATWT's increase isn't much and cannot be sustained. Members Khan
Frankly, at this point, WT could suddenly leave Y&R in the dust, and it'd still be a goner. Oh, well. At least, maybe now, they can quit worrying about the ratings, and just send us home w/ some good storytelling.
Members Soapsuds
Exatly Khan but I'd love to see ATWT beat all of ABC Daytime as the finale to the show nears. That would be icicng on the cake if ATWT was constantly beating them in the coming months.
Members marceline
Oh OLTL. In the words of the old McDonald's campaign: "I'm lovin it" ETA: Yikes. I just got an email that I have somebody calling me out on another board because of something I said here. As always SON is Bringing. Drama. Closer. Members quartermainefan
I don't see where GH's ratings are noticeably poorer than anyone else. GH has for years been behind Y&R and B&B and that's where they are now still. I am sure that while no one is happy with their ratings including Y&R, they all see these ratings as typical and not something out of the norm. It was just this spring and summer GH was getting 1.7s with no end in sight for how low they would go. If a bad week is 1.9, I bet that is considered something of a small success. Members jfung79
If ATWT's increase "isn't much," how do you know it "can't be sustained"? Even a small uptick is not possible to sustain? And you know this because?
Members JaneAusten
WOW Poor Days they so did not deserve such a drop. Very sad. I hope they rebound this week. The show is still very good in comparison to the others. Heh GH. They can suck on it. I can't imagine ABC is happy with this considering how they promoted Franco and return of JJ have basically added nothing to the show. The ratings aren't much better than they were over the summer and with these 2 BIG additions, they had to have been hoping for better.
Members Y&RWorldTurner
Three days in the week below a 3.5 for Y&R? Very much deserved given how shitty the show has been. I think this will be a taste of things to come in 2010 for Y&R. I expect their dailies and overall ratings to get worse and worse. Keep falling Y&R, you deserve it! Members Ann_SS
Because ATWT has been consistently trending downwards for years. Take a look at the chart that Sylph posted on the "ATWT cancelled" thread. This decline combined with what happened to GL's ratings once it was announced it was cancelled, one can logically deduce that ATWT cannot sustain or increase its ratings for any extended length of time. All the soaps are in the same situation. Their day will come for cancellation. But Y&R's 18 to 49 demos are the strongest of all the soaps. CBS isn't complaining.
