Same.  No offense to Signy Coleman or her fans, but I don't believe she was the best fit for recast Annie.  They would have been much better off bringing her on as a new and altogether different character.

And maybe have Holly's brother, Ken, empathize with her and form some sort of father/daughter-type bond with her as she faced the consequences of her actions.

The strangest thing I remember Coleman said she specifically mentioned she asked if her character was going to be an Annie recast since she had gotten a leak but Rauch & Co. told her absolutely not! The old Dennis Parlato bait and switch tactic GL was using obviously.

All of this.

I mean, seriously all of us sitting here can do a better job ... just sayin'

And yes on Signy. She should have been a new character, I liked her on the show but no to Annie. Wasn't it ultimately meant as shock value she was Annie because they likely had no idea what to do with Teri? Or am I mis-remembering. Because that's how it came across.

This sort of answers my confusion on her role. I really don't buy she was meant to be Annie from the start but who knows?

Trying to recast Annie was a dumb idea - the character had served her purpose and Cynthia was too known for the role, as it had not even been a full year since her exit, if memory serves. I thought Signy did her best, but should have been a new character.

You're probably right, but like the Parlato bait and switch I could so believe Rauch & Co. lying to Coleman in her face about not being an Annie recast after she inquired if she was.

Didn't Coleman's Annie leave town with Tom Wiggin's character after her oddball plot to kidnap and become Lizzie's mother went up in smoke? It was such a weird ending all the while the San Cristobel story was ramping up they made it the C-story of the week.

    • He joined Julian in Bermuda when he getting a divorce from Ivy. And, was the one who tricked Theresa and Julian in to believing that they had gotten married there. That would be nice.  That was such a good book, and it was too bad that the show retconned it so much. I still have my copy somewhere.
    • Instead of Febreze, Eva pulled a few tissues of Puffs and cried into them. Hayley comes in with a pack of Always and is like "Well, Bill turns out I'm not pregnant." Andre and Derek sharing a bottle of Pepto after eating Ashley's cooking. Vernon and Anita drinking up their Metamucil.
    •   I liked the actress who played Tina. She was not the typical soap hire. I hadn't thought of her in many years until I saw a Spauldingfield video of her. It makes sense if they were planning to make her Frank's daughter as she was tied to the Coopers and nothing else was done with her beyond singing and the relationship with Marcus that Rauch never cared about. David was hurt by Monti Sharp leaving the role. I don't blame Monti for leaving, as he was getting less and less to do, but Russell Curry was a very generic actor was too old for the part. Yes, black don't crack, but he was nearly 40. When David returns at the end of the decade they cast an actor who was a little too young, which just shows how little interest the show had in the character or black characters in general (and random recasting would return with the Boudreauxs). Marcus is a character who got a lot of buzz early on and then the show lost interest (again).  Anyway, if you stay watching, be warned that the Hart/Dinah/Roger stuff gets worse and worse. Luckily you don't have the same lengthy ties to the show so it may be OK for you. It made me feel a bit sick at the time.

    • I just find her obnoxious and I need somebody to start checking her (other than Bill) without couching it in you’re so strong and wonderful and Bill did you so wrong. Even Anita pulls punches with her. Her personality would definitely rub some people the wrong way and I hope once the canvas evolves beyond Dupreeland, she gets some adversaries who aren’t villains or 90-lb. weaklings like Haley.
    • Wow.... Anita and Dani are the ultimate symbol of mean girls.   I hate to tell this to Dani... but Eva's ability to do hair is a much more coveted job and skill than Dani's modeling.   I doubt Dani could cut it if she lost her money and was truly forced to start over from square 1.
    • -- That scene was a mess because of Sheila. Why would Bill go To that pizza dump? And why would he tolerate Sheila sitting at his table for even 5 seconds? -- Also a mess? Liam's dialogue. Telling $Bill how much he admires and respects him was hilarious! Then it went on! "Your presence, your guidance and influence...you made me a man. You made me THIS man." Jesus.
    • Not FOOTBALLERS' WIVES!!!! TASTE, DARLING. LOVE IT. Cool!!!
    • I can't help but think that this was a Ron/Jamey plot, that Paula/Jeanne just decided to run with.  Hopefully, it'll be written better than what we've had to endure previously. Roman runs it, and she helps. Interesting. I felt a similar way every time Ben called Charlie, 'Chuck'
