The episode seems to take place after summer school, and Lynn Loring left in 1961 (unless that info is wrong), so I was guessing late summer of 1960 or maybe 1959 (?). I hope someone can help us out. He definitely introduces himself as Cliff, unless that was a line flub and he called himself Curt elsewhere.

So good to see a new ep posted. Means there is more classic stuff out there.

Ted and Millicent are listed as being on 57-58 as is Larry Hagman.

Lynn Loring would have been 13/14 in 57/58 but Patti may have been aged up a bit to be part of more adult storylines.

Pity there were no credits as we don't know who played Ted.

Larry was channeling his Junior JR Ewing here with that look at Patti at the end.

Loved Patti offering him a ciggie-already becoming the perfect hostess. Ted was puffing away earlier also.

It looks like they were hinting that Patti would become enamored of Cliff and he would take advantage.

As  for the confusion with Cliff/Curt a lot of info printed in books about old soaps has turned out to be wrong-dates.names etc.

Maybe the wonderful Jam can find some newspaper articles that refer to these characters that might verify things.

On the other hand, Patti mentions a new physician, Dr. Walton, to Ted, and that character is listed as debuting in 1960.

Tracking down exact dates for vintage soaps can be challenging, but I am so glad to see a "new" episode like this pop up, even if its timeframe is murky.

Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

Looks like the uploader said  earlier today that they had looked at the kinescope date and it was  August 31, 1960. So I guess it was  either that date or it was sold to another country at a later date... (although the  GL is next part  may make that less  likely, I don't know).

I tried to find some info about Larry on SFT and could find none. His first tv gig ever was in January 1957 and by 1961 he was playing Ed Gibson on Edge of Night. Apparently they were giving Larry more to do because John Larkin as Mike Karr was planning to leave the show in Oct 1961.

I saw some clip with Patti paralized in youtube some years ago...so I suppose that episode also exists....the episode with Larry Hagman is 31 August 1960....some fans had it and some people sell it in some soap lists and circles. I hope more episodes from the 60s pop up in youtube

    • To me, he was her best romantic pairing!
    • In 1986, the writers had Zane shot twice in March and August when he died.  It’s like they didn’t know what to do with the character after they married him to Felicia.
    • Totally feel the same. Stacy’s fine, but this version of Kristen just exists for Brady’s storyline. No flashbacks, no real layers. Eileen always brought that extra spark - and her chemistry with Drake back in the day? So good. Definitely feels like a missed opportunity. Can you imagine Eileen’s Kristen walking in, all shaky, and just hugging Marlena? Both of them crying - like actual, messy, earned tears? That would’ve hit so much harder. Pure soap gold.
    • Xanthe, evidence of the Michigan setting could be found in the scenes when Rachel is on the run for shooting Mitch, which was in late 1980/early 1981. I remember a scene where they showed Bay City on a map of Michigan.

    • Another great episode. I was loving how everyone had someone to seek comfort in as they absorbed the news about John’s death, particularly Johnny/Chanel and Paul/ Andrew

Seriously, Janel has become one of my favorite couples lately. Chanel has been such a steady hand in Johnny’s life and I’m looking forward to seeing how they’re there for each other in the aftermath of John’s death.  But I am also looking forward to seeing the next conflict for them lol especially since EJ’s shooting is still dangling out there and that Johnny is gonna start working at Titan.  Paul and Andrew were sweet too. I love how Andrew comforted him. Idk if I’d be able to get married so quickly if I was in Paul’s shoes, but I do agree with the fact that it is what John would’ve wanted. I enjoyed their scenes with Will and Carrie too, even though Will and Andrew acted like they weren’t cousins. Hopefully, we’ll get more scenes of them coming up. But yeah, I will never not believe that a Will/Sonny/Paul/Andrew quad is a massive missed opportunity. There are so many story possibilities for the four of them, especially now. But again, if we can’t get them all full time, I’m fine with each couple getting a happily ever after. Away from Salem and safe from Leo. Btw, Colton is really tall And, unfortunately it looks like Sami won’t be making it to John’s memorial and that really sucks. Friggin Sydney lol I was also loving Bo’s reunion with his family. They work so well together as a family and I couldn’t be happier that we’re finally getting moments like this. The three of them filling Bo in on what’s been going in Salem for all these years was nice but also a little sad, especially after Bo found out about Victor and Doug. But I wonder if Bo’s going to have any scenes with his new brother, Xander. Or how he’s gonna react to finding out about John. And, I guess it was necessary for Bo to meet Ciara’s little serial killers too.
