There are lots of reasons to hate Pratt, Sylph, unfortunately, hating him is only a side issue to this thread, which is not about him, or you. I suggest you find a different thread which you have already transformed with your singular egotism.

So will AMC be streamlined and basically be turned into another GL, or will OLTL, or both?

Come on, man, this coming from someone who constantly hates on MAB? You can't tell other people to not do the same when you're doing it.

LOL thanks Toups, I guess hypocriscy knows no bounds.

I forgot unless you're hating on MAB, you're not allowed to have an opinion

Update from ABC Soaps in Depth:

ABC has officially announced that production of AMC will be moved to Los Angeles in December, with OLTL moving into AMC's current studio shortly thereafter. AMC will begin taping episodes in L.A. the week of January 4, 2010, which will begin airing in HD in February. The relocation will give both shows upgraded facilities and streamlined production models.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but people shouldn't repeat it ad nauseam, until all the kidneys, liver, spleen and intestines come out. There is a limit to everything.

Can you post this in the Y&R threads too? ;)

Well this should be interesting. I can't decide if this is worse news for AMC or OLTL. AMC is going to lose a lot of talent and it will probably kill the show but at the same time it shows that ABC thinks enough of the show to invest some energy in it, much like GH's upgrade to HD.

I get the feeling they might as well have just given the show a cancellation date. Unless the actors are obligated to go to L.A. because of their contracts (and that might be the case), I see potential to lose at least 50% of the current cast and most of that will probably be in the form of vets. If you're a soap actor and you've signed a couple of contracts, you're likely in it for the coast and not so much to be a big super-star. There's always the chance a new-look AMC might work in the ratings, I guess. Prolonging the inevitable? Or making the inevitable more difficult?

Maybe Susan Lucci agreed to go to L.A., because it would have been insane to make this decision without getting her to agree to make the move first.

Is the cost of "union workers" so high in NY that they could go to L.A. and hire this one and that one and still be saving?

So basically, that gives them 5 months to get all this accomplished? Interesting.

I wonder if this will also mean OLTL will get upgraded to HD next year as well?

I would have nothing against AMC Potpourri Thread, where Zendall would write on every new page how Pratt sucks. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Such threads are created so that other threads could be purged of such repetitions.

Woah, AMC's going to HD too. Poor OLTL getting "left behind" and staying in SD.

Is it cheaper to live in LA than NY? Even with a great budget, how is it any cheaper for OLTL to move in the studio that is supposed to be so expensive for AMC?

That's why there's an IGNORE feature on this board, it works beautifully ;)

Crishell Stause just tweeted...

They just confirmed AMC is moving to LA-private cast meeting starting now.

What I'd give to be a fly on this wall...

I hate Pratt! (JK Sylph. I don't even watch AMC but I couldn't resist being ornery).

So, OLTL will be the only non-HD ABC soap?

OLTL and B&B needs to get it together, HD is the way to go...

I would say ATWT, but as you know, it probably doesn't have much time left anyway.
