LOL! Rambin wants back in now that she is unemployed. I bet they would take her back in a heartbeat

Didn't she cause huge problems when she worked for them?

I wonder if they already knew Susan would say no, and this "Erica is forever changed by her trip to Africa" story will be the completion of Erica's 40 year journey. Pratt said something about how it was fun to watch Erica over the years but that it's time for Erica to get out into the real world. So maybe Erica will go off on some humanitarian mission, never to be seen again.

Could be. How sad. I can't take this. :(

Holy crap. I just caught up with this thread.

This is very interesting news and I hope this buys both shows time. At least AMC and OLTL will finally be in HD. Now all that leaves is ATWT(which will probably be cancelled before the end of the year anyway) and B&B. God help them, they're still stuck in the 80's.

DAYS is still in SD too. Not that it matters, who wants to see pink lighting in HD?

Oh, GAWD! DAYS in HD? Ew! Their makeup is clearly pancake in Standard Definition. It would look horrid in HD.

He left for personal reasons. He PMed me why, so idk if I should repeat. It was definitely not a bad thing, though, it was good news for him.

I absolutely wouldn't want you to break any confidences. I've seen so many cases where posters disappear and it turns out they were sick, had a death in the family or something similar. As long as he's doing well, I'm glad.

I do, however, have to say that New York City was never MEANT to be a television city. The majority of stages in Manhattan, Chelsea Piers, Queens and Long Island were either former radio halls converted into television studios or old warehouses.

I get that. I just hate the thought that the ENTIRE entertainment industry has to be centered in LA. I'm not a dreamer. I understand how business works but the...what? Creative side of me thinks that we get better entertainment options by spreading the business out whether its New York, Vancouver, Baltimore (Homicide, The Wire), Louisiana (True Blood) or even Bogota, Columbia (Fox's Mental. It's a sucktastic show but nonetheless its filmed in Columbia.) I could go on but I won't. Let's just say its a "thing" with me.

I'm leaving the Eden situation alone. You're right, we'll never agree about the wishy washy big deal over nothing "I play gay on TV, but no way am I gay in real life" actress.

Damn. Come on man, you couldn't even meet me halfway? Really? What's a sista gotta do? <_<

And !@#$%^&*] pink rosy cheeks for everyone.

The last time I saw it, Arianne Zuker looked like [!@#$%^&*]. Looked like her hair was all trailer trash matted and gelled and the makeup they used on her was bloody awful.

If an actor wants to work, they will go where the work is. If they think they're too big to move, then too bad for them. I, for one, don't believe that Susan Lucci, who flew back and forth FOR WEEKS while taping AMC in NYC and Dancing With the Stars in LA would say that she can't work in LA because of home renovations.

I never said that her decision rests on the damn renovations.

Last year Susan Lucci appeared on Michael Eisner's show and she said that while she used to re-sign with AMC without question, the last few times she's really had to think hard about whether she wanted to re-sign, that she really weighs the pros and cons carefully. All I'm saying is that this is one more factor in the con column. That's all.

Doll, trust me. That was halfway! That woman makes me ill! I love Bianca, but I wish she were played by a COMMITTED actress.

You read my mind! Those damned pink cheeks is EXACTLY what I was referring to!

What excites me more than anything is AMC taping in HD. GH and Y&R have both benefitted from being shot in HD. The shows look alot better and it forces the director to fill in those additional gaps.

After seeing the CGI Cars in HD, I cannot wait to see what JFP and Guza come up with for November Sweeps. They absolutely have to do another explosion of some kind. I watched clips of the MetroCourt disaster the other day and it made me sad because I WISHED that was in HD!

Well, if that's the case then... all the less reason for me to worry about whether she stays or goes. I, for one, can go without Erica flirting with her grandson's father just to defy Erica's alleged age of 54. Give this 60+ actress a menopause story already. If they can do it with Blanche Devereaux and get 24 minutes of comedy out of it, they can do it with Erica Kane and get six to twelve months of drama out of it. If not, then Erica's just becoming a running joke and one more thing not to take seriously on this show.

There could potentially be no originally cast members remaining after this move. :(

What original cast members are on General Hosptial and One Life to Live?

It sounds ABC is making an investment in AMC if they are willing to pull off a huge relocation to LA. It's not like they're going to move them to LA, and then six months later go, "Hey! We're cancelling you anyway."

With ATWT almost certainly a goner next year, it looks like OLTL is going to be the only New York soap left. That's scary. And I think OLTL is on shakier ground than AMC now, since AMC is getting an upgrade to a "bigger and better studio" in LA...while OLTL is merely getting AMC's studio leftovers.

Hmm.

The part I hate the most is they aren't even investing in what needs to be invested in, like getting a halfway competent head writer or EP.

Don't you think, if the AMC experiment is "successful" (in terms of saving $$), that OLTL will ship off to California next? I do....
