Y&R desperately needs a Linda Gottlieb/Wendy Riche type to make it relevant again.

It seems as though they're all living in the own little bubble sadly. I'm glad the Bells invested well. Too bad their egotistical laziness and lack of enthusiasm are both at the expense of the fans and the people who work for them.

I hate it. They're probably thinking "they have no idea that this is coming up, we merely had two lines of people saying that they have the same due date even if they don't." They're probably proud of themselves thinking this will surprise us like never before.

I HATE THIS completely. The actors don't deserve this, and the characters don't deserve this.

MARIA: Hogan, I think they caught onto the baby switch.

HOGAN: We have to give them something they never expected. What if

MARIA: That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard and I'm pretty stupid myself. and anyway isn't this like on your other show?

HOGAN: What other show?

MARIA: That one on NBC... I don't know the names anymore its not like I care about this genre.

HOGAN: Well, I was pretty high all the time I don't remember it's kind of a blur.

MARIA: I think I'm getting high just sitting beside you: A cheetos contact high.

The Baldwin-Fisher family isn't getting any bigger. And it's not like they are much of a family on the show anymore. The only ones who get story are Kevin and Jana. I bet you anything Jeffrey, Gloria, Eden, Lauren and Fen will all be written out this fall. Michael will be kept around to prop Kevin, Jana and the rest of the Scoobies, while MAB centers the family around Kevin and Jana and any siblings she brings on which you can bet will be actors under 25. Tracey Bregman will be a victim of the Gloria hate and the fact Hogan Sheffer hates writing for older vets and happy couples.

A couple people told me about some rumors this fall involving a Michael and Lauren and a divorce. I posted it on a Likey thread at SONY and we were talking about whether we thought it was true or not the next day and then SONY pulled the thread and deleted all the posts from when I first posted the rumors. That had never happened before. We were given no explanation and the thread appeared again five minutes later. I think it is lame because it's not like they can edit our thoughts. That reaction makes me think the rumors are likely true.

I don't care about Gloria and Jeff, but I do care about Tracey Bregman and Christian Le Blanc and I don't want to see them propping the Scoobies then tossed aside.

Christian and Tracey existed years on this show with no family members.

Kevin, Jana, Gloria, Jeffrey, Eden, and now Kevin's possible long lost brother all need to go. These characters have been fed bad story after bad story at the expense of others. Most of them have committed too many crimes, and are unsympathetic, yet TPTB keeps them around for some strange reason.

I see no reason to give Kevin a long lost brother, it makes no sense and it's the last thing Kevin needs. They obviously have no idea what to do with him, the rest of the Scobby gang too, so they throw everything their way hoping it will stick, and it never does.

This show has too many actors on contract, they last thing they need to do is add more, especially when so many are neglected.

What is giving Kevin a long lost brother going to do for him?

I totally agree, but it won't change anything. Christian might get some story but he ceratainly isn't a priority, and Tracey is being completely ignored and not told anything. They both said they hoped for a story this fall, but clearly have not been told that they will get story.

I think MAB and HS have been replacing Michael and Lauren with Kevin and Jana this entire year. So now they are repeating stories for Kevin that were original Michael stories. They are bringing on a younger sibling for Kevin when they did the same thing with Michael last year and then proceeded to drop the story. They already said Amber will be working in Michael's home office (which never existed), so how long before Jana, Kevin and Amber are moved into the Michael and Lauren condo set?

We don't need any new actors, but there are spoilers of two more coming on the show, a sibling for Kevin and a trouble making girl who appears to be an young woman in her late teens also be centered around the Scoobies and Phyllis.

This show feels split in half. MAB is flling up her side of the canvas with her favorite family, the Chancellors (in less than a year Chloe, Billy, Nina, Philip, Mac, Chase, and Delia have all been added) and on the other side you have Hogan and the Scoobies and he keeps adding young actors. Cane and Lily will be tied into the Chancellors through Cane.

Then you have the never ending triangle of Shick and Phick, a little story for the Abbotts and Victor.

Anyone else might as well be looking for work and tightening up those resumes. They can't keep adding all these new characters without moving out other characters and based on who is being neglected now, it isn't too hard to figure out who is going to be dumped.

Luckily, EJ and Johnny, and pretty much every other character saved today’s episode.  I didn’t expect Javi to be the one to save Sarah though, and I don’t mind it at all, because if it means that Javi is finally going to get his own identity/character, away from his douchy bf, I’m all for it. Javi’s scenes would’ve been a lot better had it not been for him. EJ and Johnny were the best part of today. Their conversation hit a lot of important beats and I’m so looking forward to seeing them play out. And now that EJ knows that Johnny is going to work for Xander, that opens up another dynamic to their storyline and to the Kiriakis family storylines as well. Tying them all together could be really good. There are so many story possibilities that can come out of this. And I thought Carson Boatman did a pretty good job again too.  I also liked that Johnny was there to comfort Chanel after everything that happened with Sarah. They’re so good together. But I do have mixed feelings about Chanel possibly forgiving Johnny so quickly. Hopefully, the question that she asked him at the end of today leads to more conflict for the two of them.  And yeah, still no changes in Alex’s character lol
    • Awesome, thanks so much for taking the time to grab this episode. I had a quick review of your rip because I was curious why it was 700MB and 30 minutes. The first 10 minutes of the episode is 3169 (opening credits at 5 minutes and again at 15 minutes). I thought we had the full HD version of ep.3170 on the YouTube channel, but it appears they added the wrong episode but labelled it 3170.
    • I guess, according to Mike Manning in the Michael Fairman chat, he was almost Derek

    • That's a name I haven't heard in a minute. Thanks!
    • Well, since I'm still up unexpected past my growing-into-it bedtime. lol.   I finally got to rewatch Monday's. I even rewatched Friday's to take it all in. Now that we got the reveal and hit the climax of the SilkPress Sheila storyline, now we get to watch the aftermath and/or turns that come with its climax. So far, so good. Friday left us with three cliffhangers. And what I found surprising was how I felt about them over a rewatch.    I know some of you all felt a way about the dialogue during Kat vs Eva. I remember liking it more the first time around and it was nice for them to have these scenes to establish more of a frenemy vibe for them going forward. That still held up. But I found myself agreeing with you all about that dialogue. lol. Still, it was nice to have both of their POVs.   Second up was Silk Press Sheila vs the Duprees. And I was happy to get a brief spat with Dani in there. But the rest standouts for me was Anita and Martin. Haters can hate and given the tail end of the episode, I will agree to a fault, but Brandon has impressed and he was on fire on Monday and had great subtle work on Friday. And that subtle work made it all the better. Like I believe I said when I was watching...BC has a much better grip on his character and seems to be realizing what his tics are so has started to be able to know when to turn it up and when to dial it down. And for the most part (emphasis on most), he got that. Meanwhile, TT was giving fierceness, and I was here for every minute of it. Her reading SilkPress. Her being quip about it. Her 'BE STILL.' Ooooo she had a chokehold on me as Anita gave what I was expecting her to SilkPress. WORTH THE WAIT. I also loved Vernon's CHOOSE SILENCE. I wonder though if SilkPress will figure out Martin's condition from her observing Anita and Vernon with him.   And speaking of worth it...Oooo YES Nicole vs Ted was worth totally worth it. Oooooo I knew DD would nail it, and it was all so well done. The fight between the part of Nicole who is a therapist vs Nicole as a woman who wants to express how she feels. And being so angry. And how there would be moments when it would shoot out of her. And how she would restrain herself. But how she felt she should not be restrain. Just the levels of processing and layers. And DD played it all so well. I do wish Maurice gave just a little bit more, but overall, I thought he did a good job even if it was just Ted coming across as a deadbeat and not at all redeemable. And Kat being there for her mother was so beautiful.   Minority, but I love the montage though yes, it did run a little long. Given how the Duprees like to bond (and also as I mentioned from my own very recent family experiences), it did not seem out of place to me.     That said...let's see how the aftermath worked in today's episode. Overall. Cuz RC can be hit or miss.
    • I wonder whose brilliant (

) idea it was to do an almost complete rip-off of the "who killed Tom King"-storyline. That's some quality style writing right there.....
