I had forgotten that Russ was around in this era. It appears that he has forgiven and forgotten how Rachel treated him and Alice in the past. I suppose at this point Rachel was a heroine for having saved Mac and there was no reason to complicate things by having Russ have any comment on whether or not Rachel's babies are always an unmixed blessing.

Let’s face it: if this were really life, none of the Matthews clan would have anything to do with Rachel after the hell she put Russ and Alice through. But it’s a soap opera. A few years later, Rachel and Alice were spending Christmas Eve together. LOL - nobody is that forgiving.

I keep hoping more full episodes from the Janice period will show up someday. Many at present are the episodes and clips Eddie Drueding has shared with people over the years.

That period of AW has always intrigued me. I'd love to see more of it, too. 

Most of those episodes have been posted before by munecojim and other YT channels, but some of them haven’t and it’s always great to see newly rediscovered episodes 

Are there any of victoria Thompson's Janice or Laurie Heinman's Sharlene

Laurie Heineman can be seen as Sharlene in the mid-70s episodes from Eddie Drueding that ended up on YT a few years ago. I don't know if they're still there, but I DLed them long ago.

This November 1976 episode on AW has Laurie Heinemann in it.

This is a kind of random thing to want, but I’ve always hoped and continue to hope that more footage of Iris and Brian will surface. I can’t see the Brian of 1981 tolerating Iris the way the recaps claim he did in their earlier days. And the recaps seem to imply Iris chased Ted (the first one) out of town.

It’s not random at all. So many of those clips are just about Mac and Rachel, which are great, but I’d love to see more of the B and C stories from that time too 

 I'm trying to watch AW from 1980.  But aside from Rachel saving Mac. And killing Janice in St Croix. The rest of 1980 is painfully BORING. 

 

1980 is very dull, which is why I never have made it through yet, but I do love Cecile's scheming and her viciousness.Her diatribes against "poor Pat" alone are gold.

No other soap evokes such extreme feelings of like/dislike for me as Another World does. I absolutely love Another World's first ten years. It was soap opera at its best. I loved it as much as my other favorites (GL, ATWT and DOOL). However, when it went from an ensemble piece to The Rachel Show, I absolutely hated it and did hate it for the rest of its run. Those first ten years, though...Wow! Great stuff!
