ABC says it didn't do enough to change the race for Trump. "Joe Biden had his best debate in 2020." Said he was surprisingly aggressive and very strong.

Hope they're correct. I agree. But 2016 left a huge scar and I won't trust ANYTHING 'til I hear "President-Elect Biden".

Kristen Welker seems to be getting a lot of praise on both sides, at least where I’m looking.

Welker was actually highly praised by Republicans until the last week when they decided to dogpile on her and attack her parents to give excuses for Trump's poor performance in advance.

Is it me or does that "pillows and sheets" sound like some Qanon code?

Thanks for the synopses, @Vee . I can't imagine the media hot takes...

I didn't watch the first debate bit Judy Woodruff from PBS' The NewsHour said it was a debate containing far more substance than the first debate. I am seeing similar comments in several places. Welker kept the debate moving but didn't let the candidates wriggle out of answering the questions. Trump still lied a lot but his lies were that much more glaring and ridiculous. He also made the time to insult entire groups of people with incredibly racist statements.

My advice to the undecided voters?  Stop playing around and admit you're gonna vote for Trump anyway.

Thanks, @Vee, for the recaps.  Needless to say, I agree that Biden was on fire tonight.

And here we go with the undecided voters....rolls eyes

Let me guess - they are still undecided, or they support Trump.

Here we are with the media trying to help Trump with ideas (again).

This will likely help Republicans in the House and Senate (I've been wary of Democrats picking up the Senate anyway), but Trump doesn't give a damn about this type of stuff.

Even his gold digging wife hates him and won't campaign for him. This clip is gold. To be clear I've watched too many soaps to hate a determined gold digger. I dare say this one has earned every penny. And she is wearing a MASK! 😂

Sorry but their idiots. One guy actually agreed with Trump about not shutting down even if it meant losing human life....idiot!

All of the undecideds on CNN broke for Biden except for I think one who basically said it was a wash.

I'm not seeing anyone care about the oil thing on twitter outside of people who were already voting for Trump.

In other news, I think the Hunter Biden thing finally died with this debate. Even the WSJ basically said it's nothing.

Awwww...you're so cute!😂

If you knew the (real and unnecessary) drama it took to get time to read and finish it. ;)

Thank you @Vee for the rundown. Music to my ears. Very much appreciated.

Honestly. Someone on a friend's Facebook page was lamenting that there aren't any good choices. I can't with these people. There is absolutely one very good choice and anyone who can't see that is beyond all hope. The choice could hardly be more binary.  How anyone who is a Democrat can bitch about Biden at this moment is beyond me.

Those were also Frank Luntz's talking points - people are disappointed and don't like anyone. Those are Republican talking points (most of his undecideds were Trump voters), but they register. So do a lot of the other tricks on display (CNN talking about how Biden will be mocked for looking at his watch, Politico saying this was the Trump we should have had in the first debate and he came out strong, the obsessive press focus on the oil issue, the press reminding Bernie voters that Biden distances himself from the left, etc.). Debates don't win or lose elections, but if some of the snap polls had about 41% supporting his performance and 7% undecided, that's probably not far off his level of support in voting. It's going to be a full court press for the media these last two weeks; ideally Biden can eke out a narrow win and Democrats can somehow win or tie the Senate.

The Empowerment Zones have been a boon for the wealthy investors and underwhelming for those that they are claiming to help.

Trump was a bit more leashed but I don't know how anyone who watched that debate comes away thinking he did well. Joe Biden was coherent and made a clear case for who he is, what he stands for, and what he intends to do. Trump was unable to pierce that. Trump couldn't even answer the questions he was asked.
