I called Rep. Joyce this morning to let him know that even though I don't live in his district, I would be more than happy to drive in every week and work on his defeat in 2018. He voted no.

Portman is supposed to be in Cleveland tomorrow for a program on human trafficking. He's got to be crapping his pants right now. It's bad enough he'll be in Ohio but bright blue Cleveland? He'll probably have to drink his dinner just to get out of the car.

Here is a guide to some things we can do to help stop this atrocity.

http://www.indivisibleguide.com/stop-trumpcare/

Robert Reich posted this, which I find hopeful and didn't realize:

To become law, Trumpcare has to go through 4 additional steps:

1. Pass an amended version in the Senate
2. Go to “conference“ to hammer out differences between the House and Senate
3. Pass in the House again
4. Pass in the Senate again

Yep. Now is a good time for us all to reacquaint ourselves with what it takes for a bill to become a law because Toupee Fiasco's cult is running around acting like Obamacare was repealed today.

Kasich is gearing up to run in 2020 isn't he? He's he only prominent GOPer that has stayed away from all of this and has been a cautious supporter of the ACA. I have no interest in seeing another ideologue in the white house(we have Pence there now).

Our Governor Rauner in Il a GOP idiot. He indirectly slammed all of the R's in Illinois who voted for this(Rauner is running for re-election in 2018) but he never make any kind of statement on this before the vote, knowing it would have likely ginned up more opposition to the new bill. He's a coward http://www.chicagobusiness.com/article/20170504/NEWS03/170509917/house-passes-obamacare-repeal. He does this now so he can tell people he was against Trumpcare when election season comes.

He says he doesn't plan to but he said the same thing about 2016. Of course if he said he was planning to run in 2020, Kasich would basically be saying either that he wants to make Donnie a one term president. I think Kasich is just in wait-and-see mode because anything can happen over the next three years.

Oh, there's been a few Twitter posts from Trump supporters that make me think they're not up on government processes. One had a GIF of a tombstone with Obamacare's "death" dated today. Naturally, as a concerned citizen I had to inform them that was premature and it still needs to pass the Senate. Hee.

I may have my issues with Sanders and I am not crazy about Chris Hayes constantly being in the tank for him(Maddow and O'Donnell actually have a variety of serving democrats on) but I have to agree with Sanders on this that this was not a healthcare bill but a huge tax cut. But I love the part at the end when they got Trump saying that the Australians have better healthcare. I hope they do use this quote from Trump. They should actually put it in ads and run it in areas Trump won

    • A degree does not make one an expert at their job, it just shows that you can follow directions from a technical standpoint.  It doesn't mean that they're creative. JFP was all about the look of a show without considering that technical beauty can only carry a show so far if there is nothing interesting to go along with it.  Equality means calling out flaws equally in both genders.
    • NBC or P&G was even fool enough to take a full page ad for two consecutive weeks in TV Guide promoting this horrible storyline.

    • JFP has had more defense for her decades of terrible producing than many male producers ever had.
    • It makes sense that she got a degree in directing. I've always said she should have been a director. I think she works better at the technical aspects of the show. I think her problem is the emotion/heart of a show.  She always guts the heart of the show she's on and she makes decisions that stop longtime viewers from watching a show. I don't think it's sexism to call that out especially as I've said similar things about Conboy. I've called out Rauch for much worse.
    • "Aunt Blanche" first appears toward the end of this episode, about 57 minutes in.

    • You're probably right. They may have just wanted edits of certain characters. Hopefully the rest is around.

I'm wondering if there were bits cut from this footage, because to me it seems that may be the case. At 11:23, Laurie tells her psychiatrist that the bar phoned and told her Mark got into a fight and needs to be picked up. It starts to fade to the next scene, you hear some different music begin and get cut off between the static, and where you'd expect to see the aftermath of the fight, we cut back to a later scene of Laurie in bed worrying about what's happening. The credits at the end also show that more than Mark, Laurie and Dr. Northcote should have been in this episode. Another character, Brody, played by Ed Setrakian, is mentioned but not shown. If this is the case, perhaps the original fan who saved this episode has the additional scenes.
    • Anyway… It’s a shame that the video that depicted Leticia’s death was removed from YT.

I've never seen a trainwreck like this in my entire life. 5 pencils and 3 dolls?!!!!!!!!!!! (this little moment starts close to the 7th minute) WOW. THIS IS HAPPENING IN AMERICA?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    • Ms. Phelps holds a BFA in directing from Carnegie Mellon University, awarded in 1972. At a time when women were underrepresented in directing programs, she was one of the few women in her graduating class. To suggest that she possessed no further talents than completely changing the style of music used on soaps seems like a vast underestimate when one reads her online biography through an objective lens. I guess that I should be more clever than to constantly blame misogyny for these misguided interpretations of her management style.  But, I'll never comprehend why fans unquestionably align their opinions even years after fact. Post-modernism, and the ability to reinterpret context through the study of history, seems to elude this conversation.
