I made it to "Deadly Combination," and the infamous moment of Ben putting Lilimae in a headlock. It's striking -- I would have cheered something like that happening in Season 7, but now, all I can think about is how Ben's at rock bottom. I'm not blowing the lid off anything new here, but Doug Sheehan deserved better.

I'm clearly not a great person as I still howled at that scene...but I agree that Doug deserved better.

I did get a small kick out of Julie Harris deciding to sell the awkwardness of the moment. One moan was enough, Julie.

Season 12 question….Was it just me or does the story about Stanley Zbornak running around the Cul-De-Sac investigating Danny’s drowning just seem to run wayyy longer than it should? Like what was the point? Over milking of a guest star?

Apparently, the Lechowicks thought we gave a damn as to who would off Danny or whether they would be punished. (Guess what? We didn't). To make matters worse: they bring in Pam Grier (and her bad wig) as Herb Edelman's partner; and instead of using their investigation as a way to introduce a new love interest for Larry Riley/Frank - because, c'mon, putting those two together totally could have worked - they let her just fade away.

Speaking of Herb Edelman, I watched him not too long ago in an episode of "Murder, She Wrote" where he was questioning Ken Howard, and it occurred to me: those two were married to the same woman (Louise Sorel). I would've LOVED to have been there for the off-set talks, lol.

Donna also posted some photos with Tonya Crowe. Tonya looks wonderful - still so much like she did as Olivia, but naturally older instead of having her face hacked up.

Donna's online presence is just magnificent, cool, casual, fresh, etc. I love that she addressed a nasty comment not with more nastiness but by making light of it while still saying "Imma do meeeee, and you can do you." What's funny is that even in the old lady get-up, she still looks great.

"National treasure." And now I said what I said. (It happens that I just finished watching Season 8.)

Even though presumably someone does all this for her, it also sounds like her voice, unlike, say, anything involving William Shatner. Or Kevin Sorbo winding down his "career" telling people how safe NYC was in the mid '70s.

Jean Hackney was awful and that lead to Ben's exit story which sucked.

I liked Ben/Val together. Val's love for Ben was that of a grown woman moving on with her life and Ben's love for Val made him willingly decide to raise another man's children as his own.

I just finished rewatching the series on Flex. A lot of it was new to me since I was a kid during most of the run. The one WTH story that really stood out for me was Jenn Hackney. Not only was the story boring, but I also never understood what was happening with that plot!

It was all so random: "Say, didja know reporter Ben Gibson used to be a spy (kinda) back in the day? Oh, and by the way, this 'lingerie saleslady' wants him to assassinate Greg Sumner. Why, you ask? Beats the heck outta us!"

IKR, lol?

I peeked at some of the comments, and among those giving her fist bumps were Octavia Spencer, Viola Davis and Tracey E. Bregman. Donna is out here proving that you still can be cool and sexy in your 80s and I love it.
