It has improved, but I agree it's still not on top form.

Something I've noticed over the years is that there's just not enough nice, likeable characters to root for anymore, nor enough comedy or lighthearted moments. It's too dark and so nothing ever feels that dramatic because everyone already hates each other anyway. 

I just realized that Jack is still in this show. I completely forgot about his existence 🤣 His story with No-Chemistry Denise is so boring. 
 

I see the improvement but the story’s still feel flat. 

I haven't seen EE in ages. But this clip of a flashback from a recent episode was quite good. The casting of a young Phil and Peggy was spot on. 

 

 

Sad news. She was on briefly in the '80s as Kelvin's girlfriend.

Bar David Wicks, Arthur was my favourite male character from the show. Bill Treacher was a wonderful performer throughout his whole stint. R.I.P Bill.

I had no idea things had gone so far with the Carters and Janine. I'll be pretty amazed if they give Janine another husband to add to her body count.

The story sucks and no one involved is trying much, aside from Kellie Bright at times. You're better off avoiding it.

I'm so disappointed Dotty's going. They've done NOTHING with her. Like FGS. And the last of Dot's blood relatives gone. She better not have been axed.

Flamin’ Nora! Just watched Dot’s funeral episode. For someone like me, who grew up with Eastenders (I’m older than the show, but too young to fully recall the first couple of years) it was almost tone perfect, complete with an unannounced cameo that made it complete. I won’t put names for anyone still to watch it.

As for Natalie Cassidy, cancel next year’s soap awards and give her everything!
