I'm thinking the funeral directors are behind it too. Possibly for financial reasons (to generate business) and I wouldn't be surprised if they did it again/this is the first of many deaths.

Was Charlie busy when Lucy died? I know he was interacting with Ronnie around that time, but I wouldn't be surprised if he is killer. Maybe Lucy saw something she didn't need to see (i.e. a very much alive Nick).

I think Jake and Terry are too obvious to be the killers.

Alfie's turning on the cheeky chappy charm to get customers after nearly ditching his stall was cringeworthy. It's exactly situations like this that I really wonder if EE's writers ever know what happens in the real world. Because that sort of thing never does.

I just feel, to this day, that Kat and Alfie have never been a good couple. I think the idea of Kat and Alfie looked nice on paper but the reality is different. I always believed that Kat loved Alfie (the "man in the moon") because he "rescued" her from feeling "dirty" but wasn't actually in love with him. I know this might appear to be a bit unseemly given her past but I always thought a powerful older man (15 years or so older) would have been a better partner for her-someone who would help her develop into the dynamo she really could be. A benign Henry Higgins/Svengali type who she'd co-own the Vic with.

Why are Tina, Tosh, Jake and Aleks all being isolated together in a flat? They're all new characters. Not the way to go, show.

I was on DS and someone was blaming Corrie for EE's ratings declining again, because Corrie is supposed to be the standard and is bringing everyone down.

I had a good laugh over that. If EE is already losing ratings after that big "Who Killed Lucy" hype, that's on them.

EE seems to have turned into The Lauren Show. And that's not a good thing.

Linda said that Eurovision was her and Johnny's "thing." And she couldn't tell he was gay from THAT? Wow.

Phil got teary eyed AGAIN during another of Ian's bleating fits. Sorry, I didn't buy it for a second. McFadden is doing a disservice to his character by allowing him to "get emotional."

Ben is out of prison? Already? Jeez...

Is it true there was a retcon in terms of when Shirley walked out on her family? It was apparently establshed back in 2007 that Dean had been abandoned by Shirley when he was a baby yet in last night's episode it was mentioned that she walked off when he was five?

Good God, the actor playing Les Coker is awful. It's like he's wandered onto the show from a Rank horror film from the 70s where he was playing a 19th century ghoulish crypt keeper.

Timothy West (Stan), however, is already giving some of the best performances this show has ever had (and yes, I've watched from the very beginning).

Terrible news, Michael French is leaving again. I wonder how soon before it's announced that Lyndsey Coulson is leaving again too. With Bianca leaving soon too, who does Carol have now?

I guess you can say the Branning extension, but I've never really looped Carol in with them too strongly, as she's forever Carol JACKSON in my mind. I guess Sonia too, but Sonia also functions independently of the Jackson clan in my mind given that her peak years on the show were without them.

I never expected Carol and David to be anything serious anyway. Those two are too dysfunctional together and apart to ever make it work between them, that's how its always been.

I'v also heard that when Bianca leaves (possibly with her annoying ass kids), it will be the first time someone with links to the Butcher family (by marriage, divorce, or just blood related) hasn't been on the show since 1988. Thank goodness Janine functions independently as a character and can return without family - I need her back somehow over the next 3-5 years (sooner, but not likely).

    • Where do you discover this crazy rumor??
    • Jill Farren Phelps was always very skilled at saying what she meant onscreen in the bluntest way possible, like whenever she wanted fans to support one character vs. the other (hence Megan McTavish groaning about having to write Kale Browne's Sam Rappaport into three days a week at OLTL). Perhaps you should consider doing the same. Historically your intent is always far more obvious than your efforts at coy embroidery anyway. You believe people are dismissing Phelps' accomplishments, and suggest misogyny and fan blinders allow people to too easily pigeonhole and dismiss her skill set. I think we all understand her varied skill set. We're saying it's not enough to make up for her deficiencies as a storyteller and creative. JFP was undoubtedly a skilled technical producer. As a solo storyteller, and de facto HW, she was a repeat and predictable failure. She was not the first or last EP (male or female) to think she was a writer. If you want us to stop taking your behavior personally when you suggest misogyny is at play in board opinions of JFP, perhaps you should consider spending the next 10+ years here not acting like you're the only one who gets it.

Melissa was here today & we went to Michael's Crafts & Ofc Depot. In Michael's there were two beautiful LITTLE girls who kept staring at me, so I gave them a littel wave & very quietly said HI & then did back. I told Melissa they were staring at me. She smiled & said "Purple. A lot of little girls love purple & you forget but you have purple hair. Seeing you their whole imaginations are transformed! Thinking "That lady has purple hair. That means I can have purple hair! They had no clue before seeing you that it was possible." I just laughed & laughed.
    • This opening scene is hilarious...it's like someone wrote out the script for Philip with one hand. And Rick...sniffing a scarf over and over. And in their next scene they are still sniffing the [!@#$%^&*] scarf as the camera stays all over Philip's bare chest and armpits as he keeps working out. Insane stuff.

Bay City better be ready, because I'm back!   At Vicky's apartment she is once again drowning in doubts and jealousy. Deep down she realizes that her dream wedding will be a farce and nothing can change that. Bridget tries to calm her down, but the heroine is determined to suffer. She is not hearing any positive thoughts. She doesn't believe Jamie will marry her. At the Cory Publishing building another farce is in process. Iris, once again pretending to be the angel of love and sisterhood... is telling Mac and Rachel some wonderful news. When Iris has good news, you really need to look out for yourself. That's when things are bad. So what are the news? Miss Devil has put Amanda up for an award! Mac is smiling from ear to ear, and Rachel is suspicious. Maybe that's the effect Iris is looking for. To once again accent on the fact that Rachel doubts and criticizes her daughter. Iris will do anything to destabilize their relationship. She is like a cancer. Back to Vicky! Jamie is at the door. Looking like a sad puppy, he has come with a surprise. No, he is not gonna leave her and her unborn... Not yet. He has bought her earrings. Sad face. How nice. NOT. Victoria, of course... manages to break one of them the moment she touches it. Bad premonition maybe? She was back in hysterics. It's not easy to trap a man into marriage. Then you have to live with someone that didn't want you in the first place.  We were introduced to a new character (to me at least she is new) - Cass's sister - Stacey. She is giving me "hidden skeletons in the closet"-vibes. Love a girl like that. Stunning actress. I like her. The highlight of the episode was the strange and creepy reveal of Evan the escort... hugging someone named Janice's grave. I remember she had an issue with Rachel... and Rachel killed her in self defense I think... It was hinted in prior episodes, but I lack the context and story. I just know that everyone at the Frame house was mad that Rachel killed the bish. But I also got the impression that this Janice was sick in the head. So Evan is now talking to her grave and telling her he is going to ruin Rachel's life basically. Oh, Evan... I liked you better as a sexy gigolo.  Overall - 10/10 - how can I rate it lower when I haven't watched in months!!!

    • Once again, Marlena and Kayla were used very effectively and I couldn’t be happier.  Marlena counseling Johnny and then Chanel was the best part of today. They’re really delving into the human emotion of this storyline and I think that’s a good thing. It feels so much mature than it was before. EJ’s fear about what could happen to Johnny if he doesn’t let go of his anger could lead to some really good storylines in the future.  I also really appreciate the way that Paula/Jeanne are mixing it up and having different characters interact with each other. It was nice to see Shawn and Johnny remember that they’re cousins and share a scene together. I liked the parallel that was drawn between the two of them, and what’s going on with their fathers. I did have mixed feelings about everything with Cat though. I enjoyed Chanel warning her about EJ, mostly because it played into the way that she was written today. But I wasn’t the biggest fan of the Chad/EJ scenes. The two of them discussing Chad’s potential feelings for Cat didn’t really keep my interest.  But above all, I feel that everyone is being used more effectively and that we’re getting a better understanding of everyone as well. And that was exactly what Days needed.
    • It's a wild story for sure, especially the final conclusion (and fireworks offcamera, like Victoria Wyndham tearing into Michael Logan).
