Recently, I decided to start from scratch and begin at the very first episode and I'm going to continue on in order. Ive skipped around in the past but have yet to get to the end of season 5 (of course I've seen the actual Moldavian Massacre season finale and aftermath.)

I can't believe I first purchased Season One in 2005 when it came out! They sure take their time with the releases. I think they just released season 8. I've watched Season One three or four times at this point. I really do love it. I absolutely love Pamela Sue Martin as the main vixen of the series. It's a shame they tame her down. And her 80's hair is not flattering. I love her hair in the first season.

It's interesting watching Season Two now and seeing the slow transition from what they were in the 1st year to what they become by the 3rd season and beyond. I loved how the characters were so multi-dimensional. Steven was tormented and conflicted but never apologized for who he was and the feelings he had. Krystle was the middle-class outsider brought in to a world of opulence and extreme wealth. I loved how they played every beat of her uncertainly, in terms of how she should address the maids and cooks, what kinds of topics are discussed at dinner parties, what image they should maintain during hard financial times, and seeing just how ruthless Blake can actually be with business matters.

Eventually as I get towards the second half of season two, I expect Krystle will be completely integrated into high society and will no longer flinch. And I'm already seeing Steven giving goofy looks to Amanda Woodward. :)

Yeah, Gray Bunny, but Mr. Thomson would not be there in the 1991 reunion movie. Adam had to be recast. Gordon Thomson had just joined Santa Barbara as the third (and final) Mason Capwell. From the interviews I read, he wanted very badly to be in the movie, but Spelling Productions didn't give him enough notice and SB couldn't spare him. He ended up suing Spelling Productions and demanding a public apology from Aaron Spelling. I don't know all the ins and outs, but I believe the lawsuit was eventually settled out of court.

    • Hahaha!!! Not Naomi being sure Chelesa ain't filming this time!!!   At last! Kat is proven right!!!   And hey, Nicole's Doctor friend, hey!!!   So far...this is giving.
    • Leslie having the nerve to show up at the Dupree House was pure insanity. Bill being revealed to be more ruthless than anyone would have thought was a good development. I have to imagine that will change Dani's view of wanting him back. The whole reveal was well done and Trisha Mann-Grant owned those scenes. That was most definitely material for an Emmy submission reel.
    • I agree, all the Guys Tux were nice. I like how they differ from each other and all stylish in a way. Awe, same. Can not believe I actually have enjoying a current daytime soap. Rewatching these episodes over the weekend as a jump back into Ryan's Hope and Santa Barbara. Agreed! Exciting times.

And it was pretty dope we didn't know that tidbit before the reveal.
    • yes I thought of the Renee party... But this is different because I'm talking specifically about the revealer convincing someone else to throw the party.  And the someone else complies, having no idea what the revealer plans. I'm wondering if Michele Val Jean did a first with BTG in 2025. But the BTG thread is already so busy -- that I thought it important to *NOT* clog it up with discussing this, so I brought the question here instead. That way, if other reveals come up in conversation, it's not a problem on this "general retro soap" thread.
    • Well, good that they showed Vanessa though I wish she was there.   Lol. And here comes Naomi. AND an explanation from Jacob.

She is diabolical! Remember in this scene she offered Martin a brownie which seemed so random? In this episode its revealed that when he was a kid, Ted used to bring him to a restaurant where the waitress would give him brownies....that waitress was Leslie. She was playing games and trying to jog his childhood memory
    • Yay!!!!!! And made it ON TIME, TOO!!!   And this is giving DAYS reveals circa late 90s already.
    • Bish what? I was not expecting that, I was for sure expecting him to go after Nicole (He still can). Looks like Leslie put her out! I love these new developments, Eva Dorian Lording her way into Fairmont Crest. My good sis better trap that doctor.
    • It should be in its synopsis on the DVR description of the show.
