Jamey found his niche and honed in on it. And the timing couldn’t be better with Tyler Perry leaving OWN for BET.

I’m sure PM could do the same if he wanted to, but he seems like he has a very full life. I’d love to see what he could outside of daytime, though.

Does anyone have clips of Patrick’s best writing from SB?

Re-watching ep 200-300 as they are being re-posted online.

Noticing the oddness of the pacing this time.  Warren finally gets with Maggie the Cop.  They flirt and kiss in the morning and he leaves.  While still in lingerie, the nurse wheels her comatose husband in from where ever he was the night before.  She feels conflicted, the next episode she calls it off with Warren and leaves tow to help her husband recuperate,

This story was on the heels of Ted's teacher who he kissed and then she had to go recuperate out of town.  Big build-ups, small pay-offs, and then they leave town forever.

Finally found the scenes I was looking for, Eden being treated so crassly by "Linc and Laurie" before letting them have it. If that wasn't enough of a thin veil, consider the mention of producer "Betty Bounty." The juxtaposition between Eden's comments and another rape occurring is incredibly chilling.

There's also a having the cake and eating it, too, aspect I'm not comfortable with. This was increased when I found the article that ran in SOD after the episode aired.

I found Marcy's comments to be the most insightful. Interesting that she didn't mention having played a victim before on AMC.

Her talking about how it wasn't meant to be taken lightly is glaring in contrast to the writer saying he wanted to have fun and be outrageous.

I do wonder why her past story wasn't mentioned. The only time I saw it mentioned was a decade later when Marcy and Jennifer Bassey were talking about their years working together. I didn't get the impression either of them were fond of the plot.

    • Thanks. I'm glad we have some fan memories of these years as this is such a typically snide take on the genre. It's also poorly written and reminds me a great deal of the tedious "snark" recaps that became popular in the '90s. The end in particular. The 1979/80 stuff I have seen is much more polished than a number of soaps at the time. It was very easy to watch and not too bogged down in past story.  Margo is played by Ann Williams, who was on what seemed like every soap. I think she said Margo was her favorite role.
    • And the rating 'wars' continue...hehe.
    • Well, it was fun while it lasted for Rebecca Herbst. Le sigh.
    • I am wholeheartedly enjoying this show. I just haven't been able to post as much as I used to. But yes, this episode needs to be submitted for the EMMYs and there needs to be wins. I better NOT see Y&R, DAYS, or B&B winning in categories over BTG. I feel like the only show that is giving BTG an ounce of competition this season is GH.
    • I never thought the day would come, but too much MM for me.
    • I think it may be that the character was brought in for a specific purpose and then became popular with viewers, and the show didn't know how to respond.  The choice to pivot away from Simon/India may show that you are right and they didn't care for her...although pairing them up may be another sign they didn't care for her. I don't connect well with this period but it does make me happy seeing some of these characters before the great purge and some of the surprises - I'd forgotten the wonderful Maureen O'Sullivan popped up to be bumped off. So typical of soaps by this point, but it doesn't grate as much as later on when Y&R would bring on any random cast member from Small Wonder. I'm also amazed at this time at just how much money the show must have had. The costumes for the Founder's celebration in summer 1984, or whatever it was, looked gorgeous.
    • Which officially started to feel that way today with them hearing each other out as they confronted each other at the same time.    Same. He was even catching himself when he was about to go overboard or do those tics that people don't seem to like. He failed a bit at the end, but he carried. It makes me think about a month back when it was discussed that the actor was better in other things he's been in. And I questioned then if that meant that he was playing Martin more intentionally. I questioned that briefly again today because he was giving.
    • I really like the actress who plays Margo. Don't know  her name. I'm so hesitant to google anyone because I don't want to know the length they were on the show. I've watched two episodes and I have to say that the show does not feel as dated as other shows. I tried to watch Ryan's Hope a few weeks back and some of the acting was a bit rough. EON is a lot more natural which amuses me considering it's a mystery/thriller show.
    • She’s INCREDIBLE. I’m so glad you enjoyed this my friend.
