I don’t know, but I remember him losing to Murray in best of 3 with 7-6 in there. But he has lost to him. Opelka gets a pass for me for now. Not worthy of HOF at all but I feel like he can play at least. I remember a tournament where he beat a lot of ranked players. I don’t remember Isner ever stringing anything together.

Last Sunday’s Novak Djokovic-Nick Kyrgios Wimbledon men’s final averaged a 1.3 rating and 2.24 million viewers on ESPN, ranking as the most-watched men’s final excluding those involving Roger Federer since 3.05 million watched Andy Murray-Djokovic in 2012 (four telecasts). Ratings increased 18% and viewership 22% from Djokovic-Matteo Berrettini last year (1.1, 1.8M).

Djokovic’s win, which peaked with 3.3 million viewers, fell well short of his 2019 five-set defeat of Federer (3.83M). An encore presentation on ABC averaged a 0.63 and 1.02 million.

The previous day’s Elena Rybakina-Ons Jabeur women’s final averaged a 0.7 and 1.21 million, flat in ratings and up 9% in viewership from Ashleigh Barty-Karolina Pliskova last year (0.7, 1.1M) but down sharply from Simona Halep-Serena Williams in 2019 (1.7, 2.44M). The ABC encore drew a 0.52 and 838,000. Combined, the two ABC encore presentations averaged 931,000 (+13%).

The complete Wimbledon tournament averaged 647,000 viewers across ESPN, ESPN2 and ABC, up 26% from last year. Keep in mind this year marked the first time since NBC last held rights in 2011 that any live Wimbledon coverage was scheduled for broadcast television. In addition, last year’s Wimbledon coverage included fewer hours on the flagship ESPN network due to the UEFA Euros.

While this year’s audience jumped 26% from last year, it declined the same amount from 2019 (877K). Keep in mind that 2019 figures did not include out-of-home viewing.

Does ABC have a broadcast contract with the people at the AELTC to broadcast the tournament, or is it just something they work out amongst themselves with Disney/ESPN? I guess I am asking whether ABC will think it’s worth their time to broadcast matches next year, or will they leave it all on ESPN?9

Sigh still with the big three/four mess. No wonder ticket sales were down at Wimbledon this year.

Had the Cup been in the states again Novax wouldn't have been included. Glad we won't see him until Paris. He can spread the virus somewhere else.

Watching tennis on tennis channel and Traci mentions that Ivashka and Karen Khachanov are brothers in laws. They are married to twin sisters. Its nice to see neither is married to the typical model blonde type most male tennis players date.

    • You’d think he would’ve learned after the way Sprina took off.  I hope we get a proper Emma/Gio/Trina/Kai quad, as friends, romantic rivals, etc. In the few scenes that the four of them have had together, I felt like there was a natural chemistry between all of them, similar to the way that Cam/Spencer/Trina/Joss was, in the beginning.  And, it would be a lot better than all this stuff with Kai’s surgery.
    • Hooray we made the exact same critique to Londonscribe!!!!!
    • I don't think they had any idea who he was this time last year. I think they were keeping their options very open. Same with totally dropping the Trina romance that was spoiled for him in the mags once FV clearly took a shine to him. Frank's priorities are bright and blazing in one color. I do think Gio and Emma seem to have worked out given that she is very dry and sarcastic and he is like a hot golden retriever, but I'd still play the field or explore quads with both with very different people - Emma with a scheming young man (of color), Gio with possibly Trina or someone else, or even a boy. Then maybe put them back together, who knows. But of course none that will happen.

    • He definitely got lost in the shuffle last year. First, they were implying that he was Drew’s son, then he was nothing more than just Violet’s bff

And then they changed him to being Dante and Brook Lynn’s son, which was clunky at first but I’m enjoying the storyline now.
    • GM is adorable, charming and fun onscreen despite months of nothing to do until recently, and has a bodacious bod. I'm not cosigning the show or this story - I haven't watched a full episode in over a month - but I think we're all taking the small victories in 2025 at this point. I'm open to testing this theory!
    • I think Jason might've posted some numbers for the syndication a while ago and the numbers for Falcon Crest was horrible. Like 1.5 rating or something, which was terrible.    ETA: it was actually Paul Raven:   New to syndication 60 min Fall Guy 67 markets 3.1/8 Falcon Crest 110 markets 1.1/5 To get into the top 40, you needed a 4.6/9 rating for reference - and Falcon Crest managed to get into a lot of markets to begin with. In the fall of 1985 Dynasty, Dallas and Knots were syndicated (show / rating / share / coverage % / markets): Dallas 3.4 10 51.7 92 Dynasty 3.4 10 48.7 47  Knots Landing 3.3 10 12.5 20  So, Knots as an example trippled Falcon Crest's rating with 20 markets - I'm sure those were major ones but it just goes to show you how much Falcon Crest bombed in syndication.
    • It's not bad but the stories move too slow. It's the same problem when Dan O'Connor was CO-HW with Van Etten, they have a million stories and they all drag on endlessly with no resolution. I'd argue the majority of the stories airing now are good but you get sick of waiting months for something to happen.
