McEnroe's comment about Almagro and DelPo was in the Eurosport video. Can you see it?

He actually said it was no big deal, something like that.

Do you have a link? I see the TC feed and the NBC feed on tv or online.

The French crowd apparently exhibited unsportsmanlike behaviour again during the match between reigning champion Garbine Muguruza and home player Kristina Mladenovic. Not for the first time, and most likely not the last either.....

NBC showed it and at the end Mugu shakes her finger no when the crowd cheers as she leaves the court....LOL.  She teared up during her press conference.

I said earlier this week - there was nothing injured about  Mladenovic Mag-face.  She milks anything she can and plays alot of gamesmanship.  She argued with an umpire for 3 minutes - found out she could get away with it, and then did it again. She is a total hack.  She is a fake and a hack.  She gets "injured", then runs around afterward like a kid on crack.  She sucks.  She'll win though so that's all that matters.

The women's tour has a lot of players with diva attitudes from Sugar Pimp Mama to Genie Buchard to Miadenovic and I just loathe it. None of this would've happened had Jan Brady beaten her in the first round.....

The French crowd has had pretty notorious reputation for quite some time. They boo a lot for tennis crowds. I didn't see the Mladenovic/Muguruza match but I heard it got intense with Kiki shouting after a couple of Garbiñe's double faults. Not nice at all but unfortunately I can't say it was the first time I have heard of players doing this. I've seen some pretty flagrant incidents of either flouting rules or poor sportsmanship in my years watching tennis.

Sometimes I kinda think that the behavior of the French crowd over the years has brought bad karma to their players, which is sorta too bad since there are one or two French players that I would be pleased if they won Roland Garros. Maybe if they got a champion, they'd stop acting this way?

The announcers said that Mladenovic was cheering on Mugu's missed shots and double faults in Spanish....Mugu's spoken language.

Alizé Cornet (who is still in the tournament:rolleyes:) had an incident with Sara Errani years ago where Cornet yelled "Vamos" in Spanish and Errani got annoyed and asked "Why you say vamos?!"

Supposedly Kiki has also been known to yell "Forza" in Italian.  She speaks 5 languages.  Muguruza, in her Press Conference before it all fell apart was said to quip that Kiki speaks like 25 languages.-_-

I don't care for either player. Cornet plays dirty. And Mladenovic was very vocal against Sugar Mama returning....I guess she doesn't want another diva beyotch in her territory....LOL  She wants to own that name....LOL

Speaking of Goolagong, I see that there is a petition going around to rename MCA after Goolagong. I love this idea! Goolagong may not have the load of titles but she was a trailblazer in many ways and has continued to do outreach to indigenous and marginalized people to this day!

Sometimes when you are taking measure of an athlete, you have to consider impact and not just the amount of big titles and on court wins before making an endowment of such magnitude as naming an entire arena after someone.

Clijsters won at least one major title, U.S. Open, after returning from maternity leave/retirement. She was also in her twenties.  If anyone can defy the odds, it would be Serena.

I think she also win the Australian open as well.

Cornet is so ridiculous, she'll be unbearable if she gets further into the tournament. Please no.

MUAH HA HA HA HA HA HA....Insert evil grin and evil hand wringing.   Cornet wins the day's Angelique Kerber award for the player who went down badly - see ya next tournament sweets.
