I mean I understand that sometimes the writers do this for whatever reason they can rationalize, but WTF does he have to do this so often? On top of that, the characters who are raped/almost raped never seem to go through the fallout of being raped/almost raped. It's like "damn, sucks this happened. ETHAN I LOVE YOU"

Even though I would hate it, because I once loved this show and felt it had potential. However, it would be useless to have it on the air if JER always writes like this.

Rape CAN occasionally provide a good storyline WHEN it's written right. But with JER, who has the sensitivity of a doorknob, you can forget it.

I see many signs of life with this show. And right now, I'm VERY entertained...more than a few months ago.

Exactly and HoganStays I agree with you too. Rape can provide good story when written right and JER is not capable of writing a serious story like that. Plus, a serious story like that never plays out well on Passions. He had his chance to prove that with Theresa's rape and it was forgotten with no fallout in like 3 episodes. These rapes, near-rapes, and violence toward women have all been insults to the viewers and is part of the reason why ratings suck for the show and why the show has sucked for the past year and a half. It never used to be like this and this is not part of the identity.

Rion-the fact that you think anything like this can be exciting and suspenseful is disturbing. If Fancy is hanging off a cliff or something, your right that is exciting watching Luis race to her with a payoff at the end (even though that often times is too repetitive to get me or some excited). JER has been doing this rape thing or near rape thing so much that it's lost any ability to warrant a reaction and all it does is appall. It seems like all JER wants to do now is shock and appall and be controversial without any effort put into a full story, hoping it gets people talking and ratings go up. That is not how to do it and how he used to operate. He always wanted fans talking but not for these reasons. Rape being presented every once in a while or for the first time may warrant me being on the edge of my seat hoping Luis gets there but not this. Fancy already has faced nearly being raped and no one wants to see trash like this again when it has been happening repeatedly over the past two years.

It really is getting sickening.
