Grey's Anatomy: Discussion Thread

Of course they're not going to kill off Meredith. You can't off the "Grey" in "Grey's Anatomy." That would be totally insane.

That was nice of NBC to loan Kyle Chandler to ABC. I was shocked by the ending.

I hated Izzie's "I believe" speech too. What was up with that?

Loved the entire cast being there for one character at the end. It's really an amazing ensemble.

The last 10 minutes was so emotional.....my throat was very dry....almost cried....but didn't. I love my Meredith.

OH, dear GOD, no!!! I don't want another Mary Alice situation. That works ONLY for "Desperate Housewives," thankyaverymuch!!!

Meredith, while I hated her last year for being such an unsympathetic drunken slut, MUST LIVE!!

Please, Shonda! Don't be stupid!!! DON'T kill of Grey, or I bet A LOT of people will storm ABC studios! Just you watch!! We will NOT take this lying down.

Meredith ain't dying. Next weeks episode title is "Some Kind of Miracle" ;)

And...

All of the original interns along with Wilson, Pickens Jr, and Washingon, all have multi year contracts.

Highlight for the person that supposedly dies....

=====>Meredith does "die" but will be revived and her mother Ellis will be the permanent death.<=====

Excellent episode last night!

As much as I've hated Meredith in the past, I did get choked up at her "death".

I for one loved Izzie's "I believe" speech. It was all about hope and how she knew they could overcome adversity, including George's rushed marriage to Callie. To me, that doesn't make her shallow since George got married out of grief instead of out of love and Izzie is the only one of his friends to see that.

As for the little girl, I still say she was traumatized by the accident and that's the reason she didn't speak. Now that she's been reunited with her mother, there is nothing else to read into it.

I also liked the I Believe speech. And the fact that she threw the Callie thing in there seemed kind of right, I don't know, it gelled with this group, it's the kind of thing that they do LOL. Callie has been acting like a snob lately so I hope that changes for George's sake. Anyways, fricken good show. The emotions were riveting.

Ghost? How is he a ghost? He's not a ghost. A ghost would be if she saw him standing there... he's an after-person. Someone did die. Meredith did. But people have died and come back to live... Only takes a few seconds, but it has happened.

The thing about Shonda Rimes is, the woman has balls. She could go there, and I belive, survive it. She's not afraid to break television rules.

I'm actually not reading spoilers, but I think either Ellis or McDreamy will really DIE-DIE but Meredith will DIE-LIVE.

I love George and Callie together, but I get Izzie's rant about it. She's terrified of losing her best friend. She belives he's made a mistake because in her mind, Callie's not right for George, she's not good enough for him (in that "no-one's-gonna-be-good-enough-for-your-best-friend" kinda way).

If Meredith had woken up still intubated with the doctors standing around her, I would agree with you. But, I don't call him a ghost because Meredith woke up in another realm (purgatory, maybe?) where she was alone with just Pink Mist guy and Denny. Are they now angels or spirits? Is this a hallucination? We don't really know.

    • He definitely got lost in the shuffle last year. First, they were implying that he was Drew’s son, then he was nothing more than just Violet’s bff

And then they changed him to being Dante and Brook Lynn’s son, which was clunky at first but I’m enjoying the storyline now.
    • GM is adorable, charming and fun onscreen despite months of nothing to do until recently, and has a bodacious bod. I'm not cosigning the show or this story - I haven't watched a full episode in over a month - but I think we're all taking the small victories in 2025 at this point. I'm open to testing this theory!
    • I think Jason might've posted some numbers for the syndication a while ago and the numbers for Falcon Crest was horrible. Like 1.5 rating or something, which was terrible.    ETA: it was actually Paul Raven:   New to syndication 60 min Fall Guy 67 markets 3.1/8 Falcon Crest 110 markets 1.1/5 To get into the top 40, you needed a 4.6/9 rating for reference - and Falcon Crest managed to get into a lot of markets to begin with. In the fall of 1985 Dynasty, Dallas and Knots were syndicated (show / rating / share / coverage % / markets): Dallas 3.4 10 51.7 92 Dynasty 3.4 10 48.7 47  Knots Landing 3.3 10 12.5 20  So, Knots as an example trippled Falcon Crest's rating with 20 markets - I'm sure those were major ones but it just goes to show you how much Falcon Crest bombed in syndication.
    • It's not bad but the stories move too slow. It's the same problem when Dan O'Connor was CO-HW with Van Etten, they have a million stories and they all drag on endlessly with no resolution. I'd argue the majority of the stories airing now are good but you get sick of waiting months for something to happen.
    • Thanks. I must have missed that period entirely for Lifetime.
    • Thanks. I know Marland did that type of thing sometimes but it's less likely with these characters. I don't even remember Alex ever mentioning him.
    • French fan summary Rusty took over Simon's job at Lewis Trucking after Simon transferred to Lewis Oil's North Carolina office to live near Jessie and Calla. I doubt they would bother following up a story for offscreen characters eg marriage and a baby.
    • I suspected that the performance with the reveal was the reason why the Ted actor got the axe and it looks like I was right. He wasn't really good at conveying what needed to be conveyed in those scenes. Claybon is at least slowly improving (but I agree that he still needs to work on his line delivery), but I do wonder what will happen when his big reveal is coming up.
    • I've already asked this before, recently, but can anyone who watched those years more closely tell me if anything said about Jessie and Simon at the end of their profiles is accurate (about them marrying, naming a baby after Brandon/Lujack, etc.)?
