Soaps are supposed to be entertaining but this show is confusing the heck out of me and driving me to want to drop it. Im watching but have no idea what is going on.

Why did Josh build a coffin and why is he having himself locked in there?

How does Tad not testifying send Jamie and JR to prison?

What are JR and Jamie doing in their scenes together?

How is this Zach/Dixie "affair" supposed to clear them?

David all of a sudden hates Dixie and wants to see her suffer?

Why does Ryan now beleive that Zach is guilty?

Kendall wants to divorce Zach for real now?

How and when did Zach get the CD?

Why does Colby act the way she does?

Why are Erin and Krystal now JR supporters?

Why is Sean still in PV and why doesnt Barbera seem to care?

P.S., dont feel the need to answer these questions; they are all rhetorical. I have many more and it just shows my frustrations with the show bc Im finding it frustrating to sit through bc I have no idea what is going on and I have a feeling neither do the writers

Cheap if anyone can answer any of those questions, they truly are one step ahead of most of us

I think I know some answers to some of them....but overall I'm guessing this is the way the writers wanted it to be - so we'd keep with the show with intrigue...but obviously it's not working.

I think it's more like the Proteus story - it's so confusing, but the writers will explain little by little all the things going on which are supposed to surprise us....but in the end (like Proteus) we're just hella confused.

:lol::lol::lol:

Colby's coming fresh off a cross country run with Liza, (escaping federal agents and all since Liza kidnapped Colby) and she acts like she's been raised a entitled Chandler for the last 16 years??

And :lol::lol::lol::lol:

Sean's appearance is some of the most contrived [!@#$%^&*]... as if Barbara would just be so "la dee da dee daaa" about Sean roaming the country with her credit cards -- CRASHING ON ERICA'S COUCH?

Please.

As much as Barbara hated Erica, that woman would want her son sleeping in the park before he lived with Erica. Barbara blamed Erica and Jack for Bianca's eating disorder, and Bianca isn't even Barbara's child!

LOL - well damn, let's not let it happen again!

The best part of the Proteus thing though was Mateo in that room full of TV's - even though I could only understand about 50% of what the 'voice' was saying....and then the Vanessa reveal at the end in the limo during the Crystal Ball.

But that story confused the HELL outta me.

I've already basically stopped watching. The show is one big crapfest

Didn't that story end with the anti-climactic revelation that "Proteus" put all of the drug money in nullified stock bonds therefore the empire wound up having absolutely ZERO VALUE?

Or am I confusing that with a sitcom episode?

Hey - wasn't there a writer change in the middle of Proteus?

Maybe this is why Megan is staying on a little longer - to finish the story - so it doesn't get anymore confusing during a writer change? Then comes on Burton when it's all resolved? Maybe they learned their lesson...? haha

LMAO - I don't even know, I just remember it being Vanessa. The actual storyline confused me so much, I didn't even try to go back and understand it when it was over.

I don't even think the writers know half those answers. It really is confusing. They need to give us some payoff, this storyline with Madden, and everything else is just out of hand..

I got home to see the last half hour of AMC, and Babe putting Josh in the coffin was really dumb..and what's up with all that rock music? Talk about headaches!

that story never seemed to end until they killed Vanessa off. Even after the big reveal that she was Proteus and she was arrested, they had it linger on and tried to throw hints that she wasnt responsible, that there was someone above her. Then there was the multiple personalities and was she for real or was she faking thing. It was just too confusing and dragged forever. It started off good but fell apart pretty bad

OMG the Proteus story, that dragged on and on and on.......... It started out good and then just fell flat

Nope Culliton brought Proteus on with him in 2001 with the birth of Mateo and Hayley's son, Lorenzo, and it went out with Vanessa and Leo's deaths in 2002, Culliton getting his walking papers a few weeks after.

Proteus wanted to use Mateo's club to transport drugs and first contacted him in Hayley's hotel room at the hospital as they were packing up. They had just decided to go to Texas to visit Mateo's son Max, and then the phone rings, with someone playing The Eyes of Texas in touch tones. That episode was like the second or third to air during Culliton's first week as head writer.

When people say he was such a great head writer, I'm amazed at how they forget this one teeny little bit of story line he wrote... that lasted FOR-EVAH! He may be a good script writer, but I know his body of work was despised by AMC fans just like it was when he wrote GH. Tony Geary even disliked the writing under Culliton.

Where's that damn interview?!? It must be on my other computer.

I guess it depends how you look at the story. The way I saw it, and the way Richard claimed he intended it (assuming he wasn't trying to cover his ass) was that it was never supposed to be about Proteus per se but all the things that happened as a result: Brooke & Edmund getting back together, David & Anna marrying, Frankie & Bianca, conflict for Hayteo, Ryan & Chris and so many more.

It was a bunch of smaller stories (all of which I loved) that had a common factor (Proteus). And that's how I think the show should be.

Marj was supposed to leave in early 2002. Everything that happened after that (the personalities, Trey etc) I agree it went on too long. But I still respect the initial conceptualization of the story.

I know we'll never see eye to eye on Culliton though lol. I don't respect Geary's opinion of writers. He didn't like Claire Labine  !
