I agree that it's time for Feinstein to step down but I'm not interested in the tantrum throwing by the far left, especially in light of this idiocy. Democrats need to not only be a lot tougher on Republicans but also the lefty saboteurs because if Biden gets elected the first thing they will do is start beating up on him.

I keep checking in with the Election Project website. At this rate, we should hit 20 million votes by the end of the day tomorrow.

More than 15 million people have voted by now. When I checked the tally this morning it was 13.5. Turnout is AMAZING right now and the floodgates open tomorrow when a bunch of other states begin early voting.

I voted today! When Trump got elected for years ago one of my first thoughts was that I hope I would live to vote him out in 2020. This felt really good. Another one in the can for Joe Biden. Turnout at the BOE reminded me of 2012 when Barack was up for re-election. Way more social distancing but the line of cars for ballot drop-off was insane.

Trump's ABC town hall came in third in the ratings. We'll see how the ratings are for this one. I saw someone on twitter say that Trump's rallies aren't campaign events, they are his farewell tour. I like that framing a lot.

I do plan on voting this week. I had a bit of a relapse over the weekend so I'm still really tired. Thanks for asking.

This is not the behavior of people who think they are winning.

I'd love it if ABC brought back the "undecided" voters from Trump's ABC town hall last month. Especially the black woman who told Trump to stop interrupting her.

The dealbreaker with COVID relief is the liability shield. McConnell wants to protect corporations from lawsuits and Pelosi is not going to let that happen. I will be very shocked if there's any kind of a deal.

Because it's not up to her. The cabinet is responsible for invoking the 25th and clearly they won't. She's basically trolling Trump with this and I'm fine with it.

It just occurred to me given how fast this thread has been moving recently that our current politics have become our own little version of a soap opera. We're in here discussing plot twists, cast changes, storylines, and ratings. The next month is basically our sweeps! 😀

The plot thickens. My question is whether this is because Pence has the 'rona or because Trump is circling the drain.

I didn't watch the debate last night. Mike Pence makes my teeth itch so I avoid him at all costs. But looking at my social media it looks like the entire Republican party is in a complete pants-shitting freakout. Part of me enjoys it obviously but it just brings home how exhausting this all is.

It's a cult. All of this makes sense when you realize that the GOP and the White House is basically a combination of Scientology and the People's Temple.

We're up to 5.5 million votes now. We're looking at more than a million votes cast per day now and that's going to blow up after 10/15 when a bunch more states start voting. Thanks for the pics from your trip to the polls. I was planning to vote Friday but I'm still fighting some sort of (non-COVID) respiratory bug. Standing in line for hours and coughing up a storm would get me so many dirty looks. I'm hoping for Monday. As for the reports of Trump going to the Oval, from here on out I'm ignoring any reporting about Trump's health or him working. My theory is that he's really sick but his henchman are trying to downplay it and tripping over their own incompetence. No reporting matters unless we see him.

LOL! I didn't think he'd cave so fast. I, at least, thought it would be a whole 24 hours.

I've considered Barrett's confirmation a done deal but I have to say that I'm beginning to wonder if they can pull it off. Especially if the virus takes hold with the Judiciary Committee. Lee and Tillis are already infected. Grassley refuses to get tested which mean he's very likely infected, and Cornyn is every so gently separating himself from Trump. We're in uncharted territory now but I feel better about this race than I have since Bernie dropped out in April.

They haven't really been trying to shut them down. The news is such a whirlwind that so much gets lost but they were still negotiating a COVID relief package right up until RBG died. That was the game-changer and even then Meadows and Mnuchin were still approaching Pelosi a few days ago but Trump just blew all that up. But I honestly suspect that in a day or two Trump will reverse himself the way he always does. He's weak, losing, and very likely dying. He's only going to get more erratic and destructive.

Except this doesn't help Republicans keep their Senate majority and that's all McConnell cares about. Trump just put vulnerable Republicans in the crosshairs. This isn't a strategy. It's very simple.

So 3D chessmaster Trump just tweeted that he's ending discussions about COVID relief until after he gets re-elected. He's basically trying to blackmail the whole country into re-electing him. He's all but given up on trying to win the election because all of his worst impulses have taken over and been ramped up by the drugs and disease.

Doug Jones is such a good man and good senator. I hate the fact that he's likely to lose.

I'm not paying any attention to the reports about Trump's health. Nothing these people tell us is real. It's all just another reality show to them. I'm working with the assumption he's going to end up saying hello to Herman Cain sometime in the next few weeks.
