  1. I think they are ready for it. Joe has been running a really good campaign mainly because he's put together an excellent team. Symone Sanders has been one of his biggest assets and she knows how the Bernieverse works because she's from there.
  2. I think we're going to stay in the "first" wave all through the summer. This country simply refuses to do what it needs to in order to address this. By now we should have a national testing program and the DPA should've been used to manufacture PPE for the last few months. Instead what happened is that Republicans just decided to play pretend and hope that the mass death only hit the people they don't like. This is shameful and criminal.
  3. It looks like he called it correctly. Right wingers all over Twitter are absolutely enraged. Gorsuch was supposed to be their reason for putting up with everything else from Trump and he didn't deliver.
  4. A Twitter account I follow by someone who was former GOP now independent says that this decision is really going to demoralize Trump's evangelical supporters. He says that hating the gays is even more important to the evangelicals than abortion which, I gotta say, surprised me a little until you realize that evangelicals like to talk a good game about abortion until one of them needs one.
  5. LOL! I have to admit it's finally good to see the media finally forced to ask some questions about his health. It's ironic that after forcing all these students to risk their health just for an ego boost ended up making him look weak and sickly. I still think there's only a 50/50 chance he make it to November.
  6. Interesting info about the challenges facing the entertainment industry in the age of COVID. "...approaches being discussed involve facilitating separate shoots, which can then be pieced together in post, and quarantining participating talent for 14 days, with testing done regularly, before shooting the scene in full. The actors involved with the latter would have to be OK with that plan, of course. "And if they're not, you're fucked," says one executive, "because you can't force an actor to do something that they're not comfortable with." At least two more predict those kinds of conversations about comfort levels — both general and specific — will start to happen with No. 1's on every call sheet in the coming weeks, if they haven't begun already. And the responses are expected to vary, particularly among the older and more vulnerable set. Regardless of how many safety measures are put in place, there will be some who simply won't feel comfortable and, as one network head warns, some shows could go away as a result." https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/top-tv-execs-grapple-covid-19-script-changes-were-not-going-be-shoot-it-dont-write-it-1297752
  7. "Booker has been endorsed by Bernie Sanders...." That's all I needed to read. He's just there to mess [!@#$%^&*] up.
  8. The good thing about that piece is that it completely abolishes the idea that Melania is some kind of victim. Nope. That lobotomized blowup doll is every bit as vicious, soulless, and corrupt as her dirtbag husband.
  9. That's how you know there's a culture of bullying in that police department. You best believe he's been threatened as a result of what he did. This is why the "bad apples" theory doesn't work. The bad apples intimidate the good ones into compliance.
  10. This man is such a nice reminder that there are good people in the world.
  11. I shudder to think how many secret QAnon/white supremacist dog whistles are going to be contained in that speech. I'll keep my fingers crossed that #NaturalCauses2020 makes itself known in the middle of it.
  12. Looks like Zeus has chosen to weigh in.
  13. It's interesting to see the discussion about cop shows. Since I'm stuck at home I found a channel called Start TV which is devoted to woman centered shows especially legal ones. Medium, Cold Case, Forgotten, Crossing Jordan, etc... It just plays in the background while I work. Today I just kept watching and thinking that these shows have completely glorified policing and are probably a big part of why so many unstable people decided they want to be cops. Whether the networks apologize or not, I think we might see the appeal of cop shows start to fade.
  14. This is part of why I think his lead will continue to grow. We're a nation in pain and by November the deaths from both COVID and police killings will be astronomic. Come November it's very likely that most Americans will know at least one person who died of the virus and a lot of those dead will have come from the protests. We will soon be looking at people who gave their lives and health to stand up for George Floyd. I think a lot of people who didn't want to will gravitate to Biden because he can and will speak to their pain.
  15. One of the interesting things about Biden's campaign has been that his success spits in the face of political Twitter. That tweet from Jonathan Martin tries to make it about age but really more about the fact that Biden campaigned to appeal to offline voters not Twitter pundits. If Biden wins, a lot of narratives about 2016 will die. The Chapo left knows that. That's part of why they hate Biden so much. It's not his policies or personality, it's that they know he can kill their grift.
  16. Right? It seems like there's an expose on King every couple of months and he just keeps on grifting. That's a really excellent piece, though. It's amazing how many times it mentions some project he "disbanded."
  17. Trump was late to the wreath laying ceremony at Arlington which is hardly surprising. Then he stands there in his stupid blue suit instead of the traditional and customary black for mourning. This man is truly incapable of doing anything right. But the interesting part comes at 22 minutes in when he finally shows up. His balance is off. He stands there through the anthem twitching and jerking his legs.
  18. The gaffes are baked in. Nobody cares except Outrage Twitter and they were calling him a rapist two weeks ago.
  19. I may sound like a conspiracy theorist but I won't trust any vaccine touted by this administration. They will claim to have found one but it won't work.
  20. It's an excellent statement. Biden has handled this very well. At no point has he ever attacked Reade. He's been an open book. He's never once indulged conspiracy theories or pointed out how this was an obvious attempt by the Bernie left to weaponize MeToo in order to drive him from the race. Through this whole thing he has behaved like an innocent man who trusted the facts to come out. Meanwhile...
  21. Trump is the last gasp of a certain part of the population who sees itself being replaced by women and non-whites. I think a lot of people don't grasp how Obama's election completely broke a lot of people on both the right and the left. The people who back Trump feel like they have nothing left to lose so they will happily die for him.
  22. I can't speak for Texas but the polls I've seen in Ohio have Biden leading him by one or two points. That's within margin of error but still I think it is a good sign. I'm cautiously hopeful that people are seeing the light.
  23. There's nothing to do now but sit back and watch this disease tear through the White House. There's no stopping it now.
  24. Submitted without comment...
  25. Pressley is eventually going to have to decide whether she wants to be a member of the Squad or taken seriously as a legislator. It can't be both. What's increasingly pissing me off about Reade are the comparisons to Christine Blasey-Ford. Ford was run out of her home with death threats. She testified under oath in front of the entire country. Reade can't keep her story straight and keeps bailing on interviews. Dr. Ford is being dragged back into the national conversation all because of this grifter and the cosplay socialists elevating her. I'm just going to keep asking: has anyone noticed how neither Ronan Farrow nor Jane Mayer has gone anywhere near this story?
