  1. I always felt the Nick and Sharon focus marked the beginning of Y&R’s decline, and I still feel that way to a large extent. But there’s such an old movie grandeur to their wedding, even in that intimate setting, and it does draw you in. Now you turn on a soap and even the big weddings feel perfunctory, like a trip to the DMV.
  2. Seeing a lot of that too:
  3. It feels like there’s always this narrative with female ensembles, even though it’s probably just as common with male actors (look at Lethal Weapon with Clayne Crawford and Damon Wayans). We can add Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall from Sex and the City to the list of feuds. Betty admitted that Bea wasn’t a fan of hers. The GG enthusiasts on the board may have more info, and certainly the Bea/Betty feud was an OBSESSION when I posted on Datalounge years ago. 5. It was a beautiful day in Upper Manhattan, and I’d say the majority of people out and about were without masks. Social distancing certainly wasn’t been observed much at all, and crowds weren’t being broken up. Groups and families were barbecuing and blasting merengue, and guys were doing shirtless pull-ups on the jungle gym and playing team soccer on the fields. Folks are totally over it at this point. The majority of people wearing masks do it because most stores require them for entry.
  6. I’m all for reckoning and wrestling with the past, but I think policing these ancient curios are a waste of energy. In cases like GWTW, they are snapshots in time that can be learned from and contextualized in a way that is useful in our digital culture, which decontextualized everything (but with DofH, you’re right: very few people were even thinking about that show before this controversy). How do we make the culture more inclusive moving forward?
  7. The recent (unsurprising) stories about Lea Michele’s bullying and racist microaggressions on the set of Glee made me think: which TV series have had the most dysfunctional sets? Glee certainly seemed like anarchy BTS, and the downward spirals and deaths of Cory Montieth and Mark Salling just underscored that. The recently ended Criminal Minds has revealed itself to be a cesspool of abuse and toxicity over the years. In the ‘80s, we had a constant barrage of stories about Bea Arthur vs. Betty White on The Golden Girls and Bruce Willis vs Cybill Shepherd on Moonlighting. What are some feuds or stories about BTS dysfunction that you recall? Which set seemed like the worst of all?

  10. This apparently was the East Village here in NYC last night.
  11. And she’s hilarious. She’s just such a vivacious, over-the-top personality. I don’t think I appreciated it as much in the past.
  12. Look who’s back...
  13. From Kiel, Germany 🇩🇪
  14. I’ve gone from loving Dorinda to being disgusted by her. She’s appalling.
