And again totally sad that it happened on a soap that, even during a high-profile umbrella story, few watched (due to poor clearance, for one - it never aired in St. Louis when I was growing up) as it was on its way out (well, on to an ill-fated reboot). But I do think, at least on ABC, Debbi and Darnell commanded more than a modicum of respect. That certainly DID NOT extend to their CBS roles.

That’s the playlist I’m watching. Looking forward to that. One thing I’m noticing is the amount of agency Angie and Jacob are given on Loving. They are allowed to mix it up and get into white folks’ faces in ways that soaps don’t usually allow. They feel like leads (and I do know they ultimately ushered Loving off the air as it morphed into The City).

He did a performance of Coldplay’s “Fix You” on The Masked Singer that was pretty decent.

I was just watching Geoffrey Ewing in a 1995 episode of Loving, which was around the time he played Griffin, Gilly’s father she nearly banged, on GL. What a gorgeous man daytime utterly wasted. Stumbled on this, a tour de force from Debbi Morgan in AMC’s later years: @ajsp35801

Just funny turning on the VPR reunion and seeing several of the people who tormented Scheana the most over the years and these past few months going down post-season. She must be LIVING.

That one has always been fascinating to me. Some said it was because Archie was the breakout star and won the Emmy for the first season, and JM was envious, but I’m not sure I buy that.

Venus is working out with Seal on IG right now. I wonder if they’ll have remote fans on the screen cheering to create crowd noise. It’ll be weird without that energy. It’s always odd watching smaller tournaments or day matches with no one in the stands. Interesting arguments AGAINST moving forward with the USO:

I agree with her, and they probably have a less than 5% chance of ever doing it again, which is an incredible indictment of both Y&R and the other shows. (As much as GH has showcased its black cast recently, it feels like a blip. B&B did better with the Avants, and we know what happened to them.) The BLM soap podcast had so much righteous anger, but it depressed me. Soaps never made a space for us, and they went to their graves ignoring and demeaning us.
