“Your writing team.” Just funny how they phrased the question given the recent news. I wish soap magazines had the ability to speak to audience dissatisfaction in these interviews, but they can’t bite the hand that feeds them. We just get obsequiousness and no accountability.

I don’t think politicians should be on these shows. The blurring of the lines between politicians and entertainment figures that television brought in the 20th century (paging the late Neil Postman) has greatly damaged both fields. JMHO.

Tyra is out as host. Who thought bringing her on was a good idea? Her failure at America’s Got Talent should have been a sign that hosting a warm, family-oriented reality-competition was not her forte.

This too. I don’t buy this show’s ability to pull off a good slap down anymore, but I’d be happy to be wrong. (One of my favorite Mia Rosales moments was when she grabbed Abby by the hair and dogwalked her in the GCAC. MO’s Abby has a big disrespectful mouth.) Not to sound hopelessly naive, but could this show actually be ramping up?

Can you imagine Hunter King playing any of that? HK isn’t even a bad actress, but she has a limited range and though she’s only three years younger than Alison Lanier, she reads as just out of high school. She always looked out of her depth in scenes with Courtney Hope. And you could see why they wrote Phyllis as infantilizing her, even though she was a 30-year-old woman running a major corporation.

I watch Housewives and some of the new-release movies like Tár, but yeah. That’s not what I said.

I think they greatly benefited from the relative weakness of the rest of Peacock’s slate. But good for them. Soap fans are loyal. I’m sure the lead-up to the Bo/Hope stuff has helped. They do desperately need a new head writer. RC is burned out.

There’s a reason Sam Taylor-Johnson put that dude on lock.
