What’s also great about this UGT is a lot of the conflicts are fresh (now 1800 years ago like the Taylor/Brandi stuff) and it’s laying bare a lot of the beyond-the-fourth-wall machinations.

Porsha clocked Leah on her thirst. How she hogs attention, then plays victim when she gets it. She’s like a yappy child. Porsha’s perceptiveness and ability to cut through BS are underrated. Shame she isn’t able to do it for herself, of course. Gizelle’s role as inquisitor and troublemaker is so useful in this context. She’s a producer’s dream. It’s played out on Potomac because she needs to be more than that, but I feel like she should just visit other franchises and stir people up by asking pertinent questions other cast members won’t ask. But, as a full cast member when she has to bring more of herself to the table, she’s defensive and doesn’t pull her weight, and she’s also showing that here.

Tangent: Stafford looks like the Joker in her shot to me. Just the weirdest frozen grin. I don’t find it flattering at all, and she actually looks great typically.

I like the idea of B&W to color but it just doesn’t work very well here. If they had a budget and could update it, it would be of course cool to have a B&W pencil sketch to color live-action thing, but that’s a nice dream for a soap, especially in 2023.

I was just saying it reminded me of the title font for Homefront.

It looks super cheap. The idea of going from B&W to color is cool (I like Bryton’s shot), but of course they botched the execution. And the title screen reminds me of the cheap GH opening from the 2010s. Actually, GH’s one might look better.
