Soap Storylines/Moments You Would Have Written Differently
Someone whom I met eons ago on the old GLBuzz message board (and who remains a FB friend to this day) once remarked that it had been her experience that ATWT and GL fans tend(ed) to be big classic literature fans - and I tend to think that's true as well. Not to denigrate fans of other soaps, but it does seem as if those who followed ATWT, GL and even AW, EON and SFT treasured good story over this-or-that character and couple. Did we have our favorites? Of course, but in most long-time fans' eyes, what mattered most was the writing. Then, the mid-'90's arrived. Suddenly, things like "endgame" and "supercouple," which hadn't really been part of the P&G soap viewing experience the way it had been elsewhere in daytime (save for the Bell soaps), became the only things most (newer) fans talked about. When then-HW's Barbara Esensten and James Harmon Brown remarked in the GL anniversary book that what they emphasized in every story was what was at stake for the LOVERS - and not for the FAMILIES, which had always been GL's (and most other P&G soaps') bread-and-butter - I knew times had changed.

All My Children Tribute Thread
You really saw and felt the love between those two when Susan finally won her Emmy. I mean, the way they held each other and looked into each other's eyes before she went up on stage. I could only WISH to have a man love me the way Helmut loved her. RIP - and may God be with Susan and the rest of the family as they mourn this loss.

The Media/Journalism Thread
I know people say that Democrats are terrible at messaging, but I'm starting to think that's a load of bull. It's not that the Democrats are bad at messaging, it's just that the media doesn't want to hear anything they have to say.

It's like what Mama Khan always says: "God will take your worst and turn it into something better." Now, THIS is a slap:

I thought the day would never come when I would be in Lily's corner on anything.

It would be like Bradley Bell's way of saying, "Sorry, I don't know WHERE my head was at those last few years!".

Sorry, Janet, but I hardly think Meryl Streep or Robert Redford cuts their own grass, lol. Hell, if Will REALLY wanted to throw down (yep, it's that time of the week again):

Anna is arrested? Sarenee's crazy ass continues the roam the streets of Salem, but Anna is thrown in the clink. I [!@#$%^&*] hate Jamey and Ron. I [!@#$%^&*] hate this show.

The Spin Off Thread
"Grady" definitely ranks among the all-time worst spin-offs. Whitman Mayo was good in a recurring/supporting capacity on "Sanford and Son," but NOT as the lead in his own show; and the actors playing his daughter and in-laws were just so boring to watch, too.

I'm sorry, but would Janet Hubert be taking Will's side if she and Will were still on the outs?

Well, at least they're creating some excuses for why characters aren't around when they should be...although, that is a pretty flimsy excuse, lol.

Yeah, but...I don't think that was the kind of drama anyone needed. Meanwhile, for some reason, I keep flashing back to when Keith slapped Thelma on "Good Times." ("Do you see the word "Everlast" written across my face!?"). The world's gonna go on, Will, whether you're sitting on top of it, or stretched out under it!

My advice to Chris Rock: 1. Don't press charges. 2. Do apologize to Jada, if not to Will. (Comedians shouldn't ever apologize for the jokes they make, but they also shouldn't joke about things that can't be helped...like losing one's hair.) 3. Pledge money and/or support to organizations that promote Alopecia awareness. 4. MOVE. ON.

What would your major B&B twist be?
The twist is that there IS no twist. "Join us once again for M. Night Shyamalan's THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL."

Yup. I'm surprised people aren't standing in line waiting to take their shots at him! I mean, out of all the jokes and references he could've made about Jada, he made one from 1997?
