Now that we're a few episodes in, I can definitely say something is off about RHOC and I think one of the big reasons is because they're trying to center the show around Shannon as being the maternal voice of reason, after years of her being the town basket case, ready to explode at any moment. Now, she's supposedly the calming influence who can't be bothered by other people's negativity? She, the former Debbie Downer who'd suck the life out of every room she walked into or ran off like a crazy lunatic (see: her first introduction to the newly returned Lydia). I'm not buying this. Has her mood and outlook improved? Yes, tremendously. But let's not act like she's this holy mother of virtue and reasoning. Nuh-uh. It also doesn't help that half the cast is unrootable. Meanwhile, I *am* still liking Braunwyn. Unlike POTOMAC who has no problem breaking the 4th wall (and thank goodness for that!), the OC ladies (Tamra, Shannon) have their tits in a knot because the newbie who joined the series reached out to former castmates (Lizzie, Gretchen) that she has a one-degree-of-separation connection to. It makes total sense that she would reach out to someone who has firsthand knowledge of the crazy she's about to dive into.

Well shoot, my hubby and I would be doubly dis-invited! Oh Mississippi, you keep holding onto that "Least Educated State" title...

I remember seeing an episode of Hoarders or some such show where they had a team come in and toss out all the junk in one golden aged woman's home and her daughter made a mention that her mom had boxes and boxes worth of daytime television on VHS tapes in her basement and sure enough they dumped every last box. I can only imagine what goodies that woman had saved that could've been salvaged and uploaded online if she had the means to do so....

If anything, I hope this jump-starts some of their waning careers. If Gabrielle Carteris is looking to get back in front of the camera, I would *love* to see her elsewhere. For someone marginalized during the majority of her time on the show in 1990-1995, she's like the breakout hit in my book on this "reboot."

Interesting new nugget of info regarding GL's 3 weeks at "Number One." No. 1 in the hot timeslot, okay we can drink to that. Side note: Search for Tomorrow's ratings seem so strong in late '81-early '82 for a show dumped by CBS within months afterwards.

I just love Carlton's explanation at the reunion. When asked why she was so pressed about Kyle when they first met and Kyle was making small-talk asking questions, and Carlton says, "I didn't feel you were coming from a place of genuine interest." And hence, the season-long hatred begins! Carlton is the one person whose animosity towards Kyle was unwarranted. Just one.

So telling. "And it's Kyles show" just as RHONY was Bethenny's show. And for that I echo what everyone says that I hope Garcelle has these women shook half-way through the season.

Dang, bring on the MODELS INC alums! That's kinda awesome about Garcelle. I otherwise have zero hopes for BH next season.

That was around '93-94 when Luke & Laura returned to GH. That's when we learned Dan and Nancy preferred Guiding Light. I can't remember for certain, but didn't the actor who played Ernesto actually reprise his role around 1998 in recreated flashbacks of that cage moment?

Awww... I like her a lot. I will say though that she always had the worst habit of tripping over her lines. Still, her presence and comedy will be missed. P.S. I'm glad they secured Kate McKinnon for another year. I hope she sticks around at least through the election next year.

Surprisingly, Ramona and Jill have posed for lots of photos together in recent months. I think they vacationed together sometime this past year. I don't think Bravo would allow her diva antics this time around if they welcomed her back full-time, because they know and she knows they can go full steam ahead without her and be just fine.

My first thought was Whoopi Goldberg as Sister Mary Clarence in Sister Act But yes, it was good.

RHONY is up to Season 12 now. That would be awesome to have Alex (and Simon!) pop in.

Hmm... a friend of Tinsley's so unless Bravo is really trying to make the RHONY brand steer younger, I would guess she ends up a "Friend Of" Speaking of friends of, I still kinda wish Ramona's longtime friend Joni would step up and join. I always liked her personality. (Bad photo, but that's her)

Yeah... with Priestley, I kinda cringe sometimes. Some fillers under his eyes would do wonders. I know firsthand that it really improves your overall look, appearing more awake, refreshed, healthy, etc. And it's not expensive. I know we should "just age gracefully" (yada yada yada, no one buys that baloney), but if I were on television being filmed in high-definition, I'd be hitting up the fillers and botox. Nothing crazy fun-house mirror like Tori, but just some subtle improvements.

I'd have to disagree about Shannon and Jennie. Jennie Garth looks amazing, whereas Shannon has such a bad case of smoker's mouth/teeth that it looks like she's rotting inside.

Interesting quote from Ramona: “When she left in season 4, we found out through the press she was doing her spinoff, Bethenny Getting Married. She was upset we never congratulated her, but we were upset she never told us! And that’s how we feel now. There is a camaraderie among us as a cast. Love us, hate us, not like us — we are a team. To hear this from the press and not through her is upsetting,” she explained. Singer added, “I really wish her well, though. The show’s a machine and it will continue on. We’re all just a cog in the wheel. No one is irreplaceable.” One, I like the fact that Ramona sees the cast as an ensemble. Two, it is jenky that Bethenny failed to inform her co-stars about her news, not once but twice.

Agreed. I'm loving this ride. Only 6 episodes, with 3 already done, but it's been fun. It's not reality, it's not a revival, but it's fun.

Damn. As polarizing as she can be, she’s good for the show overall and makes good press for the show. Luckily, I definitely think RHONY is in a better state than it was the last time around (and as mentioned recently, Season 4 wasn’t bad - it was the 5th season with half the originals axed that it really lost its organic feeling) that they can continue their momentum with Luann, Ramona, Dorinda, Sonja and even Tinsley. I’m thinking try two new women and whoever works best keep them as a full-time wife? I guess Barbara can stick around as a friend. Ooh, maybe fiiiinally commit to bringing Jill back full time. Who knows, maybe without Bethenny’s influence, the possibilities can open. She filmed last year and was cut; she’s always attending events and get-together with Ramona; put a camera back on her and the promise of an apple, and let the fur fly again! All itll take is a tennis match or step ‘n repeat sign to get Jill and Ramona at odds again 😂 Typos by iPhone.
