That's so strange. Was someone worried about offending Peter Bergman? Jack is old enough to be Sally's grandfather. They could have wrung so much story out of their age gap. But I shouldn't be surprised on a show that treats Nick, Sharon and Phyllis like they're perpetually 25.

Is it a recent development that soaps stopped addressing age gaps in relationships? I feel like 20 years ago the age gap between Jack and Sally would have been the crux of their relationship (maybe it was, I don't watch) but from what I can tell it was more about people disliking her or whatever.

They never did a DNA test?! 90s and 2000s daytime was all about damn DNA tests. I'm shocked.

Personally I love Mac. I think they should have Maxie singing his praises everyday. And that Robin's kid should call him grandpa. He's probably the only decent person left on the show.

JJY is probably cheap with a crap guarantee. But yeah you're right, he was also a familiar legal figure they can trot out on occasion to pretend that Sonny and Crew might get in trouble this time.

I'm not sure, all I know is that at least one of those instances was an excuse for SL to go on maternity leave. Not that these shows care much about copying each other but that's so close to what OLTL did with Jessica and Natalie a few years earlier.

I think I figured it out. Kids. Anna and Robert were gone, the actors weren't coming back anytime soon and the show was very invested in Robin as a young heroine and needed some sort of parental figure to keep her on the show. And Mac as her uncle made sense. Then by pairing him with Felicia he became the father figure to Maxie and Georgie, KW left but the show was again invested in her girls (Maxie anyway) for future story. John J. York is a team player, wasn't going anywhere so Mac became the next best thing to a father for characters they actually cared about writing for.

I just watched those Frisco and Felicia scenes you all were talking about and they were no more awkward than any of her scenes. She is not a good actress, y'all. Cute as a button though.

CLB discussing his 30th anniversary right now So Abby and Chance's kid is biologically hers and Devon's? Or Mariah and Devon's? Why did he agree to that? Why would a billionaire agree to be a sperm donor? I'm sure there are a number of situations where they would but it's stupid that their sole black male lead (Nate doesn't count) couldn't get his own kid so he gave his to these two losers.

There seem to be a lot of business talk that amounts to nothing. A lot of talk about companies starting or competing with each other. Can they write anything else?

Thanks @Antoyne I don't watch soaps on a regular basis anymore but I see clips and follow along with some of the threads here and with that I can follow along, GH and Days in particular seem to result in a lot of discussion and debate but the comments on Y&R gives me nothing! The few of you left actively discussing the show have nothing to say about it. The most exciting development I've seen mentioned here is the Chance recast no one actually cares about.

Can anyone give me a rundown of actual storylines on this show?

That tiktok has 2 million views. On a platform built for and shaped by the young that's a pretty surprising, just shows that these shows could have a life if they wanted.

I think they backtracked that one eventually, Dorian implied it wasn't really Victor or something. I wish it had been more explicit because it was INCREDIBLY stupid.

Jill was in her 50s! And calling this woman she hated her entire adult life "mother" was patently absurd.

Nicole on Days. I thought of her as a failed one time character in her initial run but somehow she came back years later to be one of the top leads of the 00s and 10s.

I think she's a terrible actress but Alicia Minshew had chemistry with all of her co-stars.
