I've seen a lot of soap actors talk about conflicting acting methods. For instance if you like to run lines and your scene partner doesn't you're going to have a problem.

I don't know, I've been watching the first few months of Veronica Reed's tenure and John is busy in some weird quasi-triangle with Jill and Leanna. John and Mamie have hardly interacted. But who knows? Bell did plan pretty far ahead.

I don't see the different direction (this is long before Mamie and John become a thing, Mamie's still doing her Mamie thing, serving as a talk-to for her nieces and surrogate family) they're talking about it so there must be more to it.

They do all seem very serious and dour but that's GH for you. I watched a scene with Alexis, Shawn and Sam and they were all head to toe in black, if I didn't know any better I'd think they were going to a funeral.

Can anyone tell me why they recast Mamie? It seems like it happened right before Mamie got a family of her own.

That's how it should be! Kids on other soaps have the plot lines of 30 year olds, it's stupid. Let these young characters BE YOUNG.

Y&R is extremely top heavy with veteran players and unlike Days and GH, which also employ a decent number of veteran actors, their vets are on contract. How much do we think Braeden/Thomas Scott/Bergman, etc. are earning?

Instead of a temp recast they decide to just recast him completely? Sus.

Andrew Madrigal? Though it seems like there was no follow up to Danny getting shot because in these episode it's the next day and he's not injured? He got shot in the gut! Twice! Maybe he was wearing a bulletproof vest or something. Speaking of Danny, he and Chris are terminally boring. They have 2 topics of conversation, David and how great they think each other is.

I never thought Robert Newman would want to be shackled to a soap again in his life. But a job's a job.

I'm watching a bit of 1991 and did Danny get shot at the masquerade ball with no follow up? He gets shot on October 2/3 and then in the October 9 episode he's perfectly fine. Did I miss something? Also an almost daily occurrence in the dialogue is the phrase "_____ where _____ is concerned". Every episode!

It took me entirely too long to realize these weren't actual spoilers.

I wonder why we Y&R's budget cut is so apparent onscreen. GH doesn't look nearly as cheap and I'm pretty sure that show is produced for even less. Actually none of the other soaps look as cheap as Y&R, what's the deal? Y&R is rather top heavy with veteran talent. Maybe that's where the majority of the budget is going.

Can someone clear this up for me, I was reading the Wikipedia article for Victoria and it says that she was raped by her stalker Gary in the treehouse but I don’t recall is happening and if it did I’m not sure it’s been referenced since.

Aren't they tired of using Brooke this way? I thought they'd reached their nadir when Brooke slept with her daughter's teenage boyfriend under the impression it was her 50 something year old husband because they were wearing the same mask.

Hey now, Degrassi was more dramatic than this mess! Hallmark channel is right on the nose, completely lifeless and generic with no stakes. Pretty people sitting around talking about absolutely nothing. The actors look drained. They radiate utter boredom.

Y&R reads like bad fanfic. The type of fanfic where the writer is averse to conflict and just wants every character to be happy and complacent in their own little bubble. Where's the drama? Where are the stakes? Where is the plot?
