ALL: They Almost Became
Not sure if this is common knowledge but Tonya Williams (Olivia, Y&R) auditioned for Drucilla. She purposely tanked the audition because she didn't want to perpetuate stereotypes about black people by portraying an illiterate runaway. Bill Bell then created the role of Olivia for her, apparently the way she spoke and carried herself helped him develop the idea of their sisterly rivalry.

227 meet Days!
Wow she got her own promo and looks like an actual CHARACTER on one of these garbage shows. I'm shook.

Y&R January 2021 Discussion Thread
She's a very dull actress but I'm happy for any actor free of this show.

Disney+: WandaVision
Sadly it does. Did you read a synopsis of what's happened so far and just see that Evan Peters is on the show?

Y&R february sweeps
This show is so weird. They realize that both Bryton and Camryn are popular and well-liked so they keep them employed yet they don't value either at all. Every story they get feels very begrudgingly executed, "Well I guess we have to write for fcuking Devon today.".

Most overly dramatic characters and scenes
I think whatever the hell Kristina Wagner is doing at the end of this scene at 10:15 (the rest of the scene is incredible, don't get me wrong. "Not BJ's heart" is gut-wrenching.) counts.

Locations of Soap Opera towns
In watching 80s episodes of AMC I discovered Pine Valley wasn't always meant to be set in PA. Tad specifically referred to his friend moving to Pine Valley from Pennsylvania.

DAYS: EJ NOT Recast
I've rarely seen so many words used to exhibit someone's lack of comprehension of basic language skills. Fascinating.

DAYS: EJ NOT Recast
You said this "Sami and EJ were a thousand times more interesting than Sami and Lucas. That's not opinion, that's really just fact." This is what we call an opinion. I have no horse in this race, you're just...wrong. Objectively wrong. And that's okay, everyone gets things wrong sometimes. We clean ourselves off, stick out our chests and try again.

DAYS: EJ NOT Recast
Doesn't change the fact that your first statement was absolutely your opinion.

Sex scenes on soaps - are they necessary?
Sex scene =/= implied sex. The Nick and Phyllis affair was hot without ever seeing them fcuk. Yeah, they made out and that was very intense but it's not like anyone was spread eagle. Make out then fade to black. That's it. I'm pretty sure that tweet is referring largely to graphic sex, which typically seem to exist solely for an actress to expose her breasts. Scenes with a topless female character largely DON'T add anything to the story. You can tell me all day that those scenes of random women without any tops on GOT was part of the fabric of the universe building but...naaah. It was gratuitous titillation. A lot of sex scenes are just that, a time filler and an easy way to signify the "maturity" of a story.
