Martha was the only Lily I ever saw and I never liked her. I don't think she's a very good actress, Lily was a miserable character and she played her like a cold fish. I started watching during Hogan Sheffer's tenure (let's not) and I truly did not understand why she was a lead, hell I didn't like Carly either but Maura West was captivating. I was so confused by Simon's obsession with her, she looked and acted like his mom.

She actually reads to me as the sort of bit player Y&R was known for. Nondescript, not very interesting in looks or inflection, just there to impart some plot point.

This is hilarious. "Ken is calling to tell you that the actors Alison Sweeney and James Scott claim they are burned out and want to leave the show in April. Also he heard from a “source” that the Head writer of Days Gary Tomlin and Bruce Evans are developing a new soap with these two actors. I told him that’s nonsense. Bruce is very supportive of Days. Ken is clearly w--" I assume that last word is "worried". As he should have been. This is what happens when you play the same actors every single day.

Sami's never suffered from lack of airtime. I think she just liked getting the hot, tall guy. The guy all the girls wanted but he wanted her.

Yeah this dude who plays Sonny doesn't look too hot. They should not have made him shave. Why is talking like a gam show host? But Will also looks like a bum (Why is he dressed like he's on the run?). I guess they're meant to be. I know he's been on the show for years but I'll never get over the name Chad Dimera.

It's just so sad because Y&R's production values used to be the pinnacle of what daytime could do. Now it's looks like it's produced on iMovie.

I'm watching the episode you're all complaining about and all I can think is "This looks and sounds better than anything Y&R's done in 5 years".

Or MacDonald Carey being dead for nearly 30 years and still in the top 10. Fascinating.

I'd be surprised if this hadn't been posted before but someone compiled the entire Michael Delaney story into a 7 hour video. I'm only 30 minutes in but I'm impressed by the frankness and language used. The show didn't seem concerned about making Bobby or Trevor sympathetic, they're both unabashedly homophobic to show an unsupportive point of view. This is the sort of domestic drama soaps have refused to do over the last 20 years. I find it interesting that both Michael and Bianca came out around Christmas time. Did the show do this intentionally knowing more eyeballs would be on daytime this time of year? I don't know.

Does anyone recall the name of the character who was Katherine's drinking buddy? She revealed that Kay switched Jill's baby with a different one. I enjoyed that actress a lot, I'm sure she's passed by now. When they undid the switch, how did they explain that away? Or did they not bother?

In the All My Children followup, written/executive produced by Leo Richardson (Katy Keene, Star), a young journalist with a secret agenda comes to expose the dark and murderous history of a town named Pine Valley only to become entangled in a feud between the Kane and Santos families. The seres explores all the secrets that come with the Kane and Santos family names. Weird but not weird that the Santos family is one of the families they're focusing on. No one cares about the Santos family outside of Maria (you can't convince anyone gives two shits about Mateo outside of Kelly and Mark's fame).

They probably will but recasting would be a huge mistake. Bring on new people sure but NO recasts. Any eyeballs on this wants to see the familiar faces. You must have Susan Lucci, without her it's not even AMC. Even if she's in there in a very limited capacity. Hell I'd make Miranda the reporter looking into the feud. First of all: I'm internally screaming. I wonder if ABC commissioned EW for that reunion week. It just seems...a little calculated that all these other shows were getting zoom reunion moderated by former publicists and AMC gets one with a major entertainment outlet. I hope this has a season long mystery vibe. That would be neat. But I also hope they don't get too far from Agnes' original vision of tackling social issues.
