  1. Scott Evans (Fish, OLTL) has a small but highly visible role in Barbie as one of the Kens.
  2. All this show has going for it is celebrating someone's anniversary every 3 months so let's hope!
  3. She looks great but that is nuts. I wonder if the show would be as invested in this dud of a storyline if the strike wasn't happening. Three recasts in hard for stories we care about, much less ones that have barely begun and are surrounding yet *another* pregnancy.
  4. Donna, I'm not entirely sure you're not an AI chatbot.
  5. Why is it hard to believe that fans in 1999 wouldn't remember BM's Iris? Soap fans, as every thread on this board can attest, have a loooong memory and it's not like 20 years at the bottom of the ratings had garnered AW some new influx of viewers.
  6. That's why this is so empty for me. She's got a number of people she can ask for help. And it's not like the government expects the fine in one lump sum, she's not going to be destitute. She's going from ultra wealthy to just wealthy. Poor dumb Caroline. Cry for her!
  7. Yeah, I agree @titan1978, Jessie and Angie are a package deal, you absolutely can't break them up and they have to be a central couple on the show and as much as I hate basically all of the couples on this show you can't just bring them on as a tentpole couple. And it would be a disservice to them, the show and their legacy to do anything but. Can you imagine AMC or OLTL bringing on Sonny and Carly or Jason and Sam and thrusting positioning them as central couples? Oh I would have been furious. But man, imagine a soap on air with Debbie and Darnell still killing it... @Liberty City I want David minus the back from the dead magic he had at the end there. I want him to come to town to work on a special case. Maybe Valentin needs a heart transplant so David and Anna are forced to interact. Valentin will, of course, fail to get this transplant and die so I never have to see him again. David needs an adversary on the hospital staff and no, it can't be Finn or Austin unless his presence prompts the writers to give either of those losers a purpose beyond Easton and Howarth's mortgage payments. Portia is too ill-defined a character for me to imagine how she'd respond to him. And no, his adversary can't be one of the utterly boring Good Guys on this show like Drew or Dante or Curtis. They have to be a doctor and they have to have some UUMPH. God, coming up with purpose for David on this is far more fun than talking about it.
  8. Curtis?? Good lord who cares. Whenever a "heroic" man gets shot on this show he just brushes it off. No point in watching all that handwringing that will amount to nothing! Sigh another week of Brook Kerr doing the heavylifting for this coma-inducing couple.
  9. Man I wanted that to say "die".
  10. Now I patiently wait for them to ask Anna about the years she lived there.
  11. The highlights of the day. Mac and Felicia and their grandkid was very cute, though Maxie calling Mac is STUPID and needs to stop. He's spent more years in her life than either of her parents. And her kids call him grandpa! It was nice to hear the words Pine Valley again but I know it's gonna be dumb so that takes the wind out of my sails. You know the reception Tracy gets from everyone? That's the reception Carly should get. That's what she used to get when they understood her character even a little bit. Now she's still argumentative and unpleasant except the entire town has been browbeat into finding this endearing.
  12. GH has used flashbacks more frequently as well. Are we in our strike padding era?
  13. GH uses so many sets that I can forgive business attire at the hotel pool. They use most characters homes on a regular as opposed to everyone having intimate conversations in the Metro Court lobby or the park or Kelly's. That happens of course but with far less frequency than other soaps.
  14. For me this is the definitive summertime daytime promo: Popular couple, great song, no cheesy "it's hot and sunny and it's SUMMER TIME EVERYBODY" vibe, just sex without being overtly sexual. It's just so good.
  15. It's a shame 80% of Passions jokes were about assault or incest. Or literal hell. And this show was marketed to the youths.
  16. Soaps, to me, have always done better with funny lines as opposed to funny characters. I never find comedic characters or set pieces very funny. I'd take several root canals over watching Susan on Days do literally anything. Roxy on OLTL was a colorful break from life and death stakes of everything else but every time she got her own story I was most annoyed than amused. I like characters who clever and humorous like Lucinda or Erica or Kay or Michael Baldwin. The humor for me usually comes from the sharp-tongued characters, not the "funny" ones.
  17. Can't go more than one episode without someone up Carly's a$s.
  18. So Gladys has gone from comically stupid to downright evil? Stupid turn for a dud of a character.
  19. You haven’t missed anything importance. Willow is still dying for god’s sake. And now they are destroying Trina and Spencer before they even got started. All in an effort to keep Esme around? Who is a far less interesting character now that she has amnesia. She’s not a good person or bad person, she’s just there. And let me not get started on demonizing Nina for turning in criminals. And all of the fun they have sucked out of Ned’s amnesia plot because every scene on this show has to be seeping with gravitas. Every single scene is treated is if you don’t watch the next one you will miss the biggest revelation in the history daytime. It’s an extremely annoying editing trick. Ava and Austin slept together, which was a foregone conclusion as soon as they started sharing scenes together and they are NOT interesting! Austin is a non-character! Roger Howarth, god bless him, is trying to make something out of literally nothing. And you have poor Maura West giving 1000% to spinning wheels. Gregory is probably one of the most insufferable characters I’ve ever seen. He claims to be a good person but is on the verge of cursing out Alexis or Tracy at all times. I really hate watching scenes with him and these women who I have loved watching for nearly 30 years get “put in their place” by this founding father. Get off the show and go to hell and take your boring sons with you. Speaking of one of his dull as dishwater children, how many more months do we have to suffer through Finn and Elizabeth having anti-chemistry? I hate to read too much into an actor’s performance but Rebecca Herbst looks like she’s in physical pain when she has to share scenes even hinting at a romance with this man. And Michael Easton‘s puppy dog thing is wholly unattractive, it just makes him look pathetic. This woman almost actively avoids you yet there you always are pleading with your eyes “do I still have a chance Lizzie?”. I really did not expect to go on that rant but the show is an absolute mess right now.
  20. The whole show is super boring right now and stagnantly staged with a bunch of self-righteous asholes confronting each other over boring topics.
  21. Hi all, I saw a promo about Abe's apparent "death" and that prompted a thought, who of the current cast hasn't been mistaken for dead? I assume a lot of the newbies. I'm just so curious, it's such a prevalent plot device on this show.
  22. Oh absolutely in real life but the weight of betrayals on this show is so skewed! Brooke kissing...whoever she kissed at the beginning of this year and maybe had a drink and it was treated like the end of the world. Liam lead Hope and Steffy on for years yet screeches in her face about a kiss??? I mean I get it but I wish it didn't all get treated with the same amount of gravity.
  23. The writing on this show is psychotic. I saw a clip of Liam screaming at Hope because she...kissed Thomas. The way characters go off about kissing someone is as bombastic and overly written as full on affairs. And holds longer ramifications! The way Liam went in on her you would think Hope was getting railed by everyone in the entrance line to the Vatican.
