I see that some of us are going to really enjoy today's show 😂😂 Shawn's a lot nicer than I would be lol and agreed about Jan. I always preferred her as the scheming, bitchy mean girl that was mean pretty much just to hide her vulnerabilities. Turning her into a full on psycho was a mistake in the long run.

Good episode… that would’ve been better had it not been for the cringey dialogue in some scenes.

It was kept like a regular soap episode, just going back and forth between Bay City and Houston.

There’s so much chemistry between Tripp and Chanel. I wish that this quad was going to be explored more. And Will is such a great big brother. Allie is really lucky to have him. All in all, even though not much happened, this was still an enjoyable episode. Pretty much every kind of chemistry was on display today and I was impressed.

The story was always that the network fired Wesley Eure because he was gay. As for Mike, I think he left Salem to go train be a paramedic. He came back the following year.

I think those firings and changes were spearheaded by Al Rabin, after he was brought on as co-EP, because it all pretty much began right as soon as he got there. Whether all the changes were solely Rabin's decisions or if he was taking orders from the higherups at NBC/Columbia, etc, Idk, but it fell on Laemmle to introduce new characters and she failed miserably at it. Bringing in new characters and immediately placing them in frontburner storylines is pretty tough to do, and sometimes it doesn't work. But ironically, when Pat Falken Smith came back the following year, she did just that and it worked perfectly. Harding Lemay was available, but he probably would've turned it down.

It does sound like Days was hoping she would be the young ingenue that would bring in the younger viewers and raise the ratings. But it seems like both the acting and the writing, especially under Nina Laemmle, just wasn't there. And once Pat Falken Smith left, there didn't seem to be much interest in Jessica, and Joshua too anymore.

Now that I've seen Angel in action, I see she's just as drippy as Jessica 😂 And damn, Gregg Marx was handsome
