James Marsden apparently tried out for SNL in the early '90s. He was 18 in the fall of 1991, but I'm wondering if the audition was actually in 1993, for the featured player slot given to Jay Mohr.

Babs being on through 1994 is news to me, but I suppose it's possible. Maybe Gottlieb & Malone liked having a snob character at their disposal.

I'm not posting links because of copyright fear, but the same channel with the 1983 episode has two consecutive episodes from March 1993, plus the July 1, 1998 episode (which functioned as the Fourth of July episode, since NBC's Wimbledon coverage aired on July 2-3).

Yup, that was Luna's grand arrival. Personally, I'd have done without the big buildup (Tina fretting about Friday the 13th, not to mention her fortune cookie), but I guess the show really wanted to make it apparent that a BIG DEAL has arrived.

I apologize for repeating myself, but I remember visiting the old Beth's Days Page circa 1999-2000 and reading fan comments that wondered what exactly was the point of keeping Maggie around. People were tired of her being the one to declare such and such was evil and that (insert couple here) were going to have a happy ending. I think the conclusion was that Maggie was the backup talk-to for when Alice would no longer be available. I guess the pecking order would have been Alice, then Maggie, then Caroline.
