Speaking of Mary Stuart, I think it's time we listen to her '73 album. She remained a beautiful woman for decades afterwards, but those poses are just too funny.

Google tells me it was a two-week stand in April 1988. I wonder if the writer's strike threw things off, that Mary's appearance was intended for May, a sweeps month.

The Pilot Thread
Oh, you just know that if the show got picked up, Mick would have eventually cameoed or guest-starred. I have a real fondness for Tartikoff-era pilots. You start thinking, "Could this have worked on another network? What would it replace? ..." I'm glad to be sharing some curios.

She's With Me, Dinah Manoff & Jerry Hall's buddy comedy from 1986. Christopher Rich and Michael Sabatino are among the guest cast. Another one that NBC passed on.

Speaking of that, they didn't write in depth about Death and Taxes, did they? The blog is nice, but a little hard to navigate.

Throw in an estate lawyer, and you've got a one-stop shop for widows and widowers.

The Pilot Thread
Taking a shot in the dark, I'm going to guess that the unfunny male writing team from a recently-concluded series would be Danny Margosis & Robert Horn, who would have worked with David Steinberg on Designing Women.

Much appreciated, @DRW50! I'm always up for some good backstage stories. ETA: I'm enjoying the dish about "Boris & Natasha"

Death and Taxes, intended for NBC in 1993. Starring Teri Garr and Craig Bierko, with a supporting cast including Cynthia Harris, Iqbal Theba, Patrick Warbuton, and Dakin Matthews and guest star Wallace Shawn. Watch it on YouTube for co-creator Darrell Vickers' candid commentary. ETA: Are Teri and Craig in the living room from Family Matters? And, courtesy of Variety, a rundown of NBC's 1993 pilots slate. https://variety.com/1993/tv/news/nbc-seeks-young-and-the-rest-105297/

I'll take a shot in the dark and assume that "Modesta" was meant to shade M.J. Like if her name was P.J., SoapNet would be claiming the P stood for Prudence. Early SoapNet could be a bit snarky. They had a promo once with a baby's rattle and a voice actress saying, "Gee, he really doesn't have his father's eyes, does he?" Or the promo I'd love to find again, where The Colbys comes across as a farce.

ALL: Fake Funerals
Luke had two fake funerals in the early 1980s. The first was in 1980, when Luke was presumed dead after falling overboard from Frank Smith's yacht. The audience knew Luke was alive, and he even got to observe his own memorial service. The second was in 1983, when Luke was presumed dead after being caught in an avalanche. The audience didn't immediately know Luke was alive, but they found out in the episode right after the funeral. Asa's 2001 fake funeral is certainly memorable. I think he also had one circa 1983, during the love triangle with Bo and Delilah (as a way to test her fidelity?).

ALL: Characters' residences
Yup, you're right. Charlene blackmailed Lucy into living with her and Tony. Colton might have eventually moved there. I know that he lived above Kelly's when he was introduced, and maybe lived with Felicia at the brownstone when they were a couple. I'm also thinking Decker probably moved in with Charlene at some point. Now that I think about this, I hope that house was paid off. Can you imagine trying to figure out who's handling the mortgage?
