  1. It's yet another of those stories I might have to hang onto for my own hypothetical soap. Although I am curious if Richard would be in a good place in 2024, or if he's still blowing his (last) "chances of a lifetime."
  2. Daniel Avery, having walked out on his wife and family (like father, like son), returns to California. He picks up the pieces at and with the restaurant that was Daniel's during his infancy.
  3. She certainly made the rounds on the NYC soaps. Also, as sweet as Max and Asa making amends is, I feel like they've been having variants of this scene for quite a while now.
  4. Is Pamela Blair playing the female talk show host in the July 9, 1991 episode?
  5. Apparently, it is possible with the use of a TV radio, something I had never heard of until recently.
  6. Hopefully some of the Cobra plot will turn up next.
  7. Oh, that's okay. I've subscribed to the channel.
  8. Monday, March 4, 1985. All this, and James Coco shilling for Benihana!
  9. Pictured, Kim Zimmer and an 18-year-old Guiding Light fan suffering from terminal boredom.
  10. It's right out of The Killing of Sister George.
  11. I'm glad to hear that. I guess I was just a little surprised that what would seem to have been a puff piece would take such a turn.
  12. With the possible exception of Michael Sabatino, does anyone have anything nice to say about Crystal Chappell?
  13. It's a little too midlife crisis for my taste.
  14. Is that Anthony Holland? I remember him best as the composer in All That Jazz.
  15. Kimberly Fairchild.
  16. Intentionally bad, sleazy, or cheesy hair is one of my least favorite comedy tropes. I need to revisit American Hustle, but I recall the running gag about Bradley Cooper's perm, culminating with him at home in curlers.
  17. This week in 1968, it was announced that Disney had signed Michele Lee to two more movies after The Love Bug. One of them was to be "a big musical." I'm wondering if Michele was one of the women considered for Bedknobs and Broomsticks.
  18. I was actually thinking about it in those terms, how it would have been interesting if characters had their own hues for their own flashbacks.
  19. Thanks for the tag, @DRW50. The Dec. 3, 1981, upload, plus this clip, reveals a funny little quirk of the time. "Enid-vision," a.k.a. a sepia tint, for her flashbacks. Later on, they went for a slightly more conventional approach, having a border around them.
  20. Just goes to show that my memory isn't what it used to be. Thank you. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyclorama_(theater)
  21. I vaguely remember someone (Saynotoursoap?) saying the first color episode was a big deal indeed, that they used a cyclorama to depict an outdoor wedding or something like that.
  22. On the chance that the new 1983 episode is from Thursday, Aug. 4, I'm going to mention how funny/awesome it is that so much of that particular day's soaps can now be seen, even partially. ABC: Loving, Ryan's Hope, All My Children, General Hospital, Edge of Night NBC: Search for Tomorrow, Another World CBS: As the World Turns
  23. The CBS Saturday Movie promo places this as also airing during the week of Aug. 1, 1983. Notice that the CBS Thursday promo is still using the "Great Moments" graphics from 1982-83.
