BTG: February 2025 Discussion Thread
Dani, I think, is more upset that Bill actually left her for his side piece thus breaking the facade of their life and marriage together. It was all about keeping up appearances for her. But, in a way, it seems that’s nothing new for the Dupree’s. Anita and Vernon are merely keeping up appearances and trying to salvage Martin’s reputation (whatever it is that he did) by forcing their whole family to attend this trifling wedding, lol.

All of the entities have representation - CBS, P&G, and the NAACP. Because it’s a joint venture with all those properties, they each have executives with EP credits. Sheila Ducksworth is in charge of the CBS/NAACP joint venture, so that’s her EP credit. Michele and Guza seem to have it written into their contracts, so they’re more on the creative side. Michele’s naturally makes sense since she’s the creator of the show and the HW. Julie Hanan Carruthers gets an EP credit because she’s the main producer in charge of the actual day to day production. It’s not a typical model, but I think because so many parties came together to produce this show, the credits are atypical.- BTG: February 2025 Discussion Thread

- ALL: With BTG garnering so much attention, should the other networks jump on board the Daytime Train
With P&G back in the soap and production content business, it may be a good time to revisit a revival of The Edge of Night. True crime and crime procedurals have a huge market for them. It would be interesting to have a soap again where the focus is more so on crime and mystery than just simple domestic drama. It doesn’t even have to be a true reboot - call or something else or use the EON name and have it set somewhere else. I just think the premise would be a lucrative one in today’s world.- BTG: February 2025 Discussion Thread
They also had to build everything out from scratch as it was a completely new studio that they inherited. I think, over time, a lot of the kinks will be finessed to a more cohesive look and feel. Most new daytime soaps that have launched have had to deal with this. BTG's situation is unique in that most of the production crew didn't work on soaps in LA or NYC, so they are looking at things from a slightly different lens - which isn't bad, and makes the show more unique than the standard fare we've had for years on daytime.- BTG: February 2025 Discussion Thread

And those specials had very minimal promotion behind them too.- ARTICLE: ‘Beyond the Gates’ Preview Special Performs Well For CBS, Network’s Veteran Soaps See Substantial Gains
If BTG overtakes GH in its first month and sticks there, ABC needs to make sweeping changes at GH. Frank Valentini and the writers need to be fired immediately.- BTG: February 2025 Discussion Thread
