  1. I think when the show was first announced she said a quick comment on an IG story about this being progress, but nothing else since that I can recall. I also don’t think she was considered for a role in the original cast, so that’s that.
  2. Yeah, Julie Hanan Carruthers, and Tamara Tunie talked about how a lot of the production crew hadn’t done daytime or any soap before. They had to build an infrastructure from scratch in Atlanta where daytime soaps have never been produced out of before. I think that’s what’s giving the show a slightly non-traditional soap look and editing.
  3. The cast and crew did this cute happy premiere day video: https://www.instagram.com/share/BBOhgUpF4Y
  4. ‘Beyond the Gates’ Star Tamara Tunie Talks Resilience, Divine Order and Speaking Your Truth (EXCLUSIVE)
  5. It just feels like Y&R drags because Josh Griffith’s writing is so damn boring…
  6. Ashley and Derek were just jarring because their scenes just zapped the energy out of the episode. These characters and actors are a big fail to me from the onset - I hope they improve. It almost felt like CBS mandated a white couple be forced into the first episode to appease a certain segment of the audience…
  7. I believe TPIR is also celebrating its 10k episode this week, and CBS is billing this week as its “winter premiere week.” So a big week for CBS Daytime and overall - they should have plenty to say when they do release something!
  8. Say whatever you want, but providing an actual constructive analysis about why you thought the actual episode didn’t work or why you have this assumption based off of one episode would have gone over better with this community rather than one blanket post that amounted to “this sucks and will be cancelled.” If you feel that way, explain as others have explained their thoughts in this thread.
  9. I actually didn’t notice this in the live viewing or Paley scnreening, but the episode begins with “A CBS Studios and P&G Studios Production”
  10. Nicole is the first-born prodigy who was expected to over-achieve and be the best at everything. Dani is the screw-up who was babied her entire life and never felt the need to be accountable for anything in her life.
  11. I was going to say the 1951 premiere of Search for Tomorrow, but this works just as well!
  12. Exactly why I think she’ll be polarizing - Some will see her this way, while others will think she’s totally justified.
  13. True, I guess the press version CBS gave SheKnows the exclusive to. Honestly, I wonder why they gave them any exclusive as I’ve never seen them have an exclusive before, lol
  14. Told y’all the opening was different and featured more cast members than the one leaked online last week! Spin-off locale! Haha, just wishful thinking!
  15. Ha, no problem! Pop music and comics are my other niche passion points along with the soaps!
  16. @Errol - ‘Best of My Love’ is a song by girl-group The Emotions, not The Temptations!
  17. That’s been the standard P&G logo for a long time. I’m not sure if the significance of the candle light - could be a GL reference, but someone at P&G will need to clarify! It’s nice to see a P&G logo after a soap after all this time. It’s not the classic PGP logo, but it’s a spiritual successor.
  18. They should just ask Lynn Herring to play Vanessa’s mother eventually, lol
  19. They are multiple dimensions at play because Dani isn’t presented as totally sympathetic either. She’s a bad mother (regarding Chelsea) and is totally delusional about the state of her marriage before Haley entered the picture.
  20. Very wise to include Tachina, Justin, and Shamar on this - all proud of their soap roots.
  21. It’s a new graphic. A more colorized version of this graphic was flashed at the end of the episode. The candle could be a GL reference, but I can’t confirm that.
  22. Makes sense and it’s her baby so she would want to set the tone well before anyone else helps out. It’s also the benefit of her being in the industry so long and having experience in every soap writing position - scripts, editor, breakdowns, and as a HW.
  23. CBS doesn’t do that for any show, so I wasn’t expecting it. Let’s see if we get it on Paramount+.
