  1. I will say, based on the first episode, the music scoring of the show might take some getting used to if you’re comparing it to the other daytime soaps. It’s quite different. Y’all will see on Monday.
  2. Karla Mosley Says ‘Beyond the Gates’ Is ‘Best of What Soaps Have to Offer
  3. I'm going to repost my original post on Monday as that's when the embargo expires. I had a whole post with thoughts on the first episode and characters featured. Not intended to be any type of spoiler - Jen Jacob and Ben Gavin were the weakest part of that first episode to me (characters and actors).
  4. I'm not sure if it was how the episode was screened at the Paley Center, but the lighting was not super bright in the first episode I saw. There may have been some filtering/processing that happened in post-production that made the lighting more flattering than what we saw in the promos/previews.
  5. Some things I am proud of tonight as a fan: - I was the first person that cheered and clapped when Sheila Ducksworth mentioned Michele Val Jean's name - I was the first person that cheered and clapped when Tamara Tunie mentioned ATWT
  6. Looks like I gave too much away and the first post had to be removed, oh well, lol. Will post again on Monday.
  7. Or maybe it was specific for this Paley screening - it was a slightly extended opening featuring a lot more of the cast than the version released earlier today online.
  8. The opening shown at the screening for the first episode is longer and features more cast members.
  9. The opening shown at the screening for the first episode is longer and features more cast members.
  10. The screening ended, will post non-spoiler thoughts later. We’re at the panel stage.
  11. We’re still waiting for the panel to come out, but here’s the stage, lol
  12. It’s almost a packed house here at the Paley Center. Also a very diverse crowd. We’re not allowed to take pics or record, but hoping I can sneak something in, lol
  13. She better - you don’t hire Tamara Tunie to just give out sage advice. Of all the soap matriarchs, I’ve always felt Anita would be most similar to Stephanie.
  14. Adamson always felt too old and too blue collar for Noah (and Michael for that matter) to me.
  15. Anita Dupree’s character profile as posted on IG: https://www.instagram.com/share/BAFZD5afne
  16. Bill and Haley aren’t in this version that was released, and they’re pretty major players, so I always knew they’d be other iterations of this opening.
  17. I’m heading out to the Paley Center event soon! So excited!
  18. I love that she gets to solidify her mark on entertainment and her legacy with this show. She’s had such a respectful and diverse career, and has always kept her class. I never imaged she would return to daytime, but I am glad she did and now I can’t picture anyone else playing Anita Dupree. The opening credits!
  19. We’re so lucky to have TT as the figurehead lead in this ensemble.
  20. I could see it, and she’s close to age IRL for the character from what we’ve been told. But looks like MVJ had her heart set on Karla, and that was that when she accepted the role. The age of an actor has never mattered on soaps - but KM does still look like she’s in her late 30’s. It will be interesting to see how it comes off on-screen with her playing mom to two grown ass kids on this soap.
