B&B: October 2024 Discussion Thread
10-2 Oh, how I just giggled at the fact that Will join Forrester because there were so many attractive young ladies working there. And not just one... but THREE. LOL. And I see we saw the love interest, too. Cute. And Steffy's reaction when Katie told her that Will was not even interested in fashion, but wanted a job took me out. It was good to see Grace again. But the optics...

10-4 Now THAT was good. Outside of the Violet drama, lol. There was so much going on that I couldn't help, but not be doing toooo much side stuff to simply watch. For the first time, the actor playing Gio showed some sign of improvement. I actually rewind. For a very brief moment, Gio had potential when he and Trina got into it over Ava and Sonny. Such an organic conflict to put between them in the event that the show tried to pair them given her loyalty to Ava and his loyalty to Sonny. And the actor actually came alive when he showed his disdain for Ava. Soooo of course, Joss...who said she was going to stay out of things involving Ava/Trina...had to step in and it was too quickly resolved. WHY??? Well...Van as Lucas WAS different. His Lucas and Ryan Crane's Lucas are definitely night and day. But you know what? I liked his version of Lucas. I didn't find any of his scenes with Carly jarring because as long as I've been watching on and off GH, one consistency has been Carly's relationship with Lucas whether the writers played it frequently or not. It rang true he would go see her. And LW and VH had good chemistry. As for him and Brad...hmmm we will see. Trina's Two Mommys having her back? YES, PLEASE. Heck, if this leads to Portia's villain origin story I would be down for it. Who better than Ava? lol. What is everyone talking about? Judging from the change of clothes...Lucky finally took a shower. And sorry, he looked good to me. That said, I zoned out once I saw it was Sonny talking about parenting to Lucky. SONNY? REALLY? No, thanks. So far, JJ has not be bothering me, he definitely has presence. What is letting him down so far has been the writing.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
POTOMAC Now that my system is working again...which always happens during any season of RHOP interestingly enough...I got to see the season opener as well. And...WE ARE SOOOO BACK. Granted due to my work schedule, I still (funnily enough just like S6's) have not watched last season's reunion episodes, but might tonight for giggles to see the last of Candiace and Roommate. That said...this opener was such a refresh. If this is what the reboot entails, then the answer is YES from me. It still has the shadiness of the other seasons that we are used to having here. Because that reenactment has shady AF all over it...right down to the deer. lol. We were introduced to new people (but no Keiarna yet), and they either fit in perfectly or felt like they have always been there. And there were new interesting things going on along with constant threads (the growing Messy Mia vs La Grande Dame; Gizelle/Wendy friction) we are used to, but they took interesting turns as well. Which brings me to the main thrust of the opener...The DUI of La Grande Dame. I'm still not caught up (yet) on OC so I don't know how they are handling Shannon's DUI, but this? Hades froze over and I was on Gizelle's side in her talks with La Dame...cuz KAREN, REALLY??? Meanwhile, Production (and Andy) saw the potential in the Messy Mia and the Two Dads mess and not only ran with it, but brought back my beloved Jacqueline AND gave Messy Mia a posse with her, Jac, and FOH Jassi...something I feel you all were worried about at the finale/reunion last season since so much was starting to center on Mia. Since I know that is something Gizelle won't like...not to mention La Dame...I expected a target on Mia's back this season. In fact, they started this episode...so it's a rivalry I'm looking forward to. LA DAME. Karen, Karen, Karen!!!! I personally feel there is no statute of limitations on a parents' death EVER. That said...the first half of the episode, La Dame did not play it well at all for me. Those scenes with Gizelle was not about deflecting or making excuses. Gizelle gave her the perfect opportunity for her to get her side of the story out there and get sympathy which her fans would give her if she owned what she did. And Gizelle did it BEFORE Production used one of their lapdogs (Ashley, Messy Mia, Jackie) to do so. While she did a little bit better in the latter half of the episode by making it a 'she can't talk too much about it due to on-going court case,' she still has a way to go toward ownership. And I'm going to need that...NOT her staging scenes with waiters to prove she does not have a drinking problem. That said...it was nice to see her and Gizelle back on the same side and their reverse uno-ing Mia was yes deflection, but so well-done. When those two are on the same side, watch out!!! Meanwhile, La Dame introducing the New Housewife Stacey (by Vivian who should be around more often as a FOH) was a cute little scene so La Dame still has IT. GIZELLE. Not Giz on an apology tour!!! lol. But seriously, look at what happened to her!! Without her bodyguard Roommate to have her back, Gizelle came across...likable. I agree with others online that she kinda went back to being Season 1 Gizelle who was a scrappy underdog. And given the growing posse of Mia, she put in the work. Being a good friend to La Dame. Ki-ki-ing with the newbies. Setting up the long overdue sit-down with Wendy she's been needing to have since Season 6 since NEITHER are going anywhere yet. Using those Gizelle skills on Mia. She was using her 'powers' for GOOD. PS. KALLLLL!!! ASHLEY. Lord...this woman. RME. She has not even STARTED the divorce. GIRL, BYE. I do agree with @Gray Bunny that she was looking good though. It appears that with Gizelle playing nice, she might be one of the two Housewives set to be messy. And Messy Ash hasn't been around truly since Season 6 so let's see if she still has it. WENDY. If Wendy is going to give us anything, it is going to be looks and reactions to mess. And she did that beautifully. I was shocked to see she had left her university job. And while I understood where she's coming from, I mean...that's a big change. Now if Production continue to show that part of her life which means showing her tell her mother, she might have a real and authentic storyline on her hands that could resonate. Meanwhile...is the Gizelle/Wendy feud about to be over at last? Another storyline coming off of her that has potential. Good job, DOCTOR Wendy. MESSY MIA. She is on a slippery slope. What I liked about Messy Mia was that you could never take her tooooo seriously, and neither did she. But through all of the messiness and lying, there were moments where she actually was being upfront at the same time. And that mix...along with everyone else not giving too much last season...has allowed her to ascend to the near top of the hierarchy on this show. So I cannot help, but feel she is heading for a fall at some point. I will still enjoy her all the same. That said...she's still full of possiblities. A growing rivalry with La Grande Dame...one of two people who is above her in the hierarchy. The paternity mess with Inc and G which is intriguing in good AND bad ways cuz G looked like Mia had sucked the life out of him and love that kid. Meanwhile, Mia is flaunting that relationship with Inc all over. The Jacqueline friendship is still full of mess even though Jac (as much as I love her) is giving Marlo Jr. so far or worse a budget bin Robyn to Mia's Giz. And it's clear Production has her back so far. Thankfully, they also have La Dame's due to her history with Gizelle who both make the show. Speaking of Gizelle, I figured from what little clips I saw of the reunion that Mia's ascendent would immediately make her a target of Gizelle this season, so far Gizelle is proving me right because her tag-team with La Dame on Mia and Jacq again was a thing of beauty. So...Messy Mia has the spotlight, but she better tread lightly if she wants to keep favor. KENYA LITE STACEY. When I saw it online, I didn't get it. But...I see what people are talking about. Stacey kinda favored Kenya circa RHOA S5 in her look and mannerisms. But not as wild as Kenya was. That said, she definitely left an impression on me, throwing light shade at La Dame in her intro scene. And the trailer makes it seem like she will be right in the mess. Good because she had a nice rapport with everyone. And her reactions during La Dame/Gizelle vs Messy Mia/Jacq was everything. Cuz...get used to it. hehe. KEIARNA. Not in the episode which was shocking. So was not having the TAGLINES. But a great start. Is it Sunday yet?

Married to Medicine
IKR. I did such a double take. Though she was looking like TLC Chilli later on. lol. None yet, but it should be soon because I believe it is going to be in the fall and coming out before RHOA for sure. Unless Bravo changes their mind. Cuz like BH, they are done filming.

GH: Fan Fave Fired. Actress Blindsided
Not at all. Long enough to play all the beats. Not so long that a triangle that would follow the beats of Lulu waking up would overstay its welcome.

GH: Fan Fave Fired. Actress Blindsided
I always believe that. Sadly. Lindsey definitely seems to enjoy being behind the camera more than in front of it these days. Which is why I would do presumed death so if she was to change her mind...it would be more possible. A triangle of Sam/Dante/Lulu could last until at least February Sweeps if written well.

Yeah, I definitely curious to see where both story threads (Brynn as villain, Erin/Abe drama) go.

And don't forget...with ACTUAL PC histories. So no need to prop a Friend of Frank some folks. Hehe. I know it's wrong, but Hearst really plays it oh so well. Even when Liz sat him down to let Ric down gently and firmly, Hearst simply went to subtext with Ric and I giggled. He is so smitten on her even now. But yes...it writes itself.

10-2 Stuck window, huh? Smh. But then Cameron appeared in that Crimson Light scene and ruined my theory about him being alive and gaslighting Sharon. Unless he's drugging her? hmmm. Yeah, I really did like those Diane vs Audra scenes @soapfan770!!! No need for them to be nice and both got some great licks in. I wouldn't mind more scenes. Meanwhile, Kyle has gone back to prick mode...though I must admit the going to the house and getting on Diane's computer was very much something 2017 Kyle who just got back to Genoa City a la Bad Boy Kyle would do so that tracks. I just wish he would not be so...whiny prick. And even with all of that, I cannot believe...given what we have seen of Audra...he would be able to outmaneuver her. So I'm surprised their VSs is over. For now. I suspect Audra will be about the payback...moreso since she fought that company away from Tucker. We got a body for Heather. Le sigh. Poor Daniel. Poor Paul.

Oh yeah. The fallout was so rushed from what I remember. And then Lucas just faded away when there was so much potential because he took that loss hard. Hard enough to consider going after custody if I remember correctly, but I might be wrong. Oh yeah next to a certain HW show that premiered yesterday, I was looking forward to this reunion so I was LIVID with my system going down. Cuz something always happens to my tv system during the former show's season airing. ALWAYS. When it comes to my memories, I hold JJ and GV in high regard (and thought JY was pretty to look at, miscast) as Lucky even when the writing didn't do either one of them any favors. That said...I thought Lucky/Liz's fantasy scene was very well done, and I felt that chemistry. But the real reunion...there were moments, but there was just more chemistry in their flashback than I felt in their interactions. I felt Liz had more of a spark with Jason in the brief hug they shared in the same episode than Liz and Lucky. And then as another counterpoint, yes...Ric anytime he is around Liz, RH plays that throughline of love with her. You can see it. You can feel it. And the fact that I was not around for most of the history (though I know of it or have seen some clips) so I know he's a dangerous man and I can still see and feel it between the two of them speaks volume to Hearst as an actor. While I'm happy to see him in other storylines and probably getting with Ava, I cannot help but smh for a minute at the fact that THREE of the men Liz have been involved with with actual PC history are on canvas at the same time, and the New/Old Writers are not going to play with it just a little bit more. But I'm just greedy and want to see Liz on screen as much as I can as a Liz fan. IKR!!! lol.

10-3 And now that my system is FINALLY back to working... Awww at the Liason hug. That said...how weird is having Liz, Lucky, Jason, and Sam in the same room after all these years. It felt like 2007 without the fan-warring. lol. And that Jason/Sam scene felt eerily final which makes me wonder if it is going down this coming Friday or next? As for THE reunion...it was all right. I love the flashback...feisty Liz and that chemistry. That said...I felt more of a reaction to Liz with Ric and even Jason than Lucky. Though I love the scenes. That said...THE reunion for me will be Laura and Lucky. Tick, tock. Oh? Hat Dad really IS leaving? Wow. And we might not be seeing Neka much now, too? Her I liked and wanted to see more of. I wonder if it's a way to phase out the nightclub now that Curtis is off running Aurora and mixing it up with Quartermaines. Though I guess that means that Ms. Wu won't be trying to muscle in on it, too. And while I didn't like PM/ER attacking the Ava/Trina friendship or doing it in a jarring way at the end at least, I am happy to see that it's back. And they can confide in each other again. I love that Trina is going back to college and that Ava respected her enough that she was trying to get her to run the gallery. I don't like what they are doing with Portia, but if they are going to paint her as the villain, BK is playing it to the hilt. It is giving Eileen Davidson very slow descent to villainy DAYS circa late 90s while you can still sympathize with her...not that Portia is in the wrong in the first place IMO. Cuz those Portia/Brad scenes were catty. Hehe. In to think I used to think the opposite and now we are two peas in a pod.
