That is sad. Soaps have kind of always been undervalued and underrated but at this moment, it seems like they are dismissing any value the entire daytime portion of the genre has.

To pick up what you have stated about ED. It’s interesting what’s been said about her being a challenge to pair off yet the show has never stopped trying, Ashley has never lacked suitors. They even threw in Ravi to temporarily fill in the romantic gap. Have they made such attempts with CG? I wasn’t really watching Y&R attentively when MG made previous return appearances in recent years, but I did see clips of Daniel’s brief first encounter with Mariah and I was very intrigued. Daniel is still a character on the younger side, Mariah is still young, why are they living such settled, staid lives? Things should be more messy s complicated for these characters, their should be more entanglements between these characters. And yes, history should definitely be more disruptive to their everyday lives. And you’re right, Mariah should have been at least a little bitter towards Daniel, for what she sees as someone who deprived her of known her twin. Maybe she starts to put herself in his line of sight, hoping to unnerve him. This is, after all, the same person who Victor paid to haunt Sharon. And perhaps with each encounter, bitterness turns to intrigue, as she seeks to know more about the man who her twin went to her grave being so enamored of. Perhaps Daniel becomes intrigued by Mariah, to the point that Lily becomes unnerved by it. In fact, what looks to be a blooming friendship between the two begins to unnerve all the people who knew the history of what happened between Cassie and Daniel on the night of the fatal accident and have had to live with the repercussions.

Well damn, Bob Barker and Arleen Sorkin in today’s announcements?! All these stars of daytime are just being lost to us. It’s especially sad with the lack of regard for much of classic daytime television.

That whole thing with Rubiales is disgusting for so many reasons, besides being unwanted, it trampled all over what should have been a huge moment of achievement for the Spanish women’s football team. And he has the nerve to defiantly insist that it was consensual, despite the players’ words to the contrary and dig into his wrongheaded notion that he did nothing wrong. It’s good that he finally got the boot. I am really trying to not let my past experience of being in Spain when I was a college student prejudice my opinion but I encountered quite a bit of naked sexism and sexual harassment while there. I would have thought that things had changed.

Wasn’t Mariah supposed to be sexually fluid? Why can’t she have a fling with Kyle? Or with Daniel, for that matter? Or is Lily in yet another sacrosanct relationship that can’t be touched? and the fact that she is Cassie’s twin and Cassie had a crush on Daniel, which always made Daniel feel somewhat guilty about her death and how it happened. Also,,Daniel just happens to be Summer’s brother. That could be unexpected and twisted at the same time. What am I saying? Y&R doesn’t write that type of emotional complexity in their stories anymore.

Just disgusting. This country is still digging out of so much mess that the Trump administration has created, but I doubt she and those of her ilk would report on this, they are too busy at the trough. This is why I can’t watch CNN or cable news in general, its rare that they inform the public what we actually need to know. Just a bunch of access journalists.

I can tell you that revising a script is absolutely work, no matter how anyone may try to spin things, and work needs to be compensated. The fact that the industry has been able to get away with not paying for work is insulting. Either you believe in the dignity of work, or you don’t, there’s no compromise on non-payment versus payment. Then, let it burn. Maybe from the ashes, a phoenix. They ought to start from scratch anyway.

People have complained repeatedly about the casting of the character but at a certain point people should have been questioning the depiction of the character through the writing, direction, etc., to me, those are the common factors. Noah has been written and depicted very poorly— he hasn’t been written reasonably well since the character was a teenager.
