  1. @slick jonesRe Eugene Eubank, couldn't find any reference to him being on Arnold Grimm or being an actor. He seemed to be a life-long military man, since 1917. Retired in 1954. The only thing I found re Ruth Schaefer was that she played 6-year old "Jimmy," on Right to Happiness, in 1948 (while she was a journalism major at Columbia U.). This is Guy De Vestel.
  2. Re Sharon and Julie, can't say it was handled well. Julie strongly rejected Sharon's advances and Sharon ended up slashing her wrists over it. I don't think it was ever meant to be a serious relationship. Julie had only recently finally married Doug and had no idea Sharon was interested in a romantic relationship with her. I always had the impression that Sharon's husband Karl was also interested in Julie, and for some reason I thought Sharon and Karl were "swingers" and wanted Julie to participate. Julie and Sharon did make up right before Sharon left town. I remember Sharon giving Julie a brooch at that time. I'm pretty sure it was all cut short because of fan hate mail. This was around the same time the David/Valerie story was airing.
  3. There don't seem to be any soap bloggers who keep up with the older soaps and actors these days. Other fans seem to be the best source.
  4. Well, our Ted could be deceased also. He'd probably be well into his 80s by now. He was one of my favorites when he was EON.
  5. This was Ted in 2009. @danfling I don't know what Ron Martin has been up to, but he was at least still alive in 2015, according to his mother's (Denise Lor) obituary. https://www.legacy.com/us/obituaries/nytimes/name/denise-horine-obituary?id=21788434
  6. He's a different Ted Tinling. This was Ted in 2009.
  7. No need to apologize @Brent. Your efforts are much appreciated!
  8. The SAG-AFTRA Fall/Winter In Memoriam reported that Paul Savior died on October 1, 2021. A friend of his confirmed it in a blog post. Savior appeared in several soaps but is probably best known for playing Rick Latimer on Love of Life and Dr. Tom Baldwin on General Hospital. "A recent communication from the Roaring Brook Lake Garden Club described him as follows: We wanted to share with you the very sad news that longtime Garden Club member Paul Savior passed away on Friday. Paul had just celebrated his 90th birthday on August 16. He is survived by daughters Valerie and Allison. His daughters said the Garden Club meant a lot to him. Paul had an acting career that spanned over six decades, with roles in shows like Kojak, Mannix, General Hospital, and The Young and The Restless. And of course, starring roles at Tompkins Corner and Garrison Depot Theatre." https://www.aheadworld.org/2021/10/25/goodbye-my-friend/?fbclid=IwAR1aLPzvH1IKbf54d1tq2ydm7t5RcPsPeanz8nzxbCtUqklqGGd3dOSy-iE
  9. Lauri's last name was Leshinsky (I think played by Kelly Wood) and Eric was her son (played by Chris Lowe when I saw him). Scott and Kathy later adopted him. Can't remember what happened to Lauri. This didn't really sound like Ann Williams (who was in her 30s at this time) though. Ida was played by Vera Allen, who was an older actress at this point. Thanks for posting @Brent.
  10. Dan Allison was the character on The Doctors who killed himself and framed Steve Aldrich for his murder. He had a heart attack and tampered with the medical device that was keeping him alive.
  11. From May 1940, the Wisconsin State Journal compiled all the soap operas/serials that were on the radio at that time. They counted 70 (I didn't verify the number).
  12. @BroldenIf the January part is correct, I think this must have been 1963. Lisa is apparently pregnant, and I’ve read that she broke off her affair with Bruce after learning she was going to have another baby that was Bob’s. Jim Pritchett left ATWT in the early spring of 1963.
  13. Found the same picture in another newspaper. This one had an explanation about what was supposed to be represented.
  14. He was played by John Considine.
  15. I don't have any firsthand knowledge but I've read that Maggie appeared first, and was a "good" character. She was dying and wanted Van to marry her husband. After Maggie died, Kay came to town (Joan in a blonde wig) and was described as Maggie's "evil twin," who was trying to get Maggie's husband for herself, but failed. And I think the character Bonnie Bedelia played on LoL, Sandy Porter, was Maggie's daughter.
  16. @slick jonesFound this guy on FB who looks like he could be an older version of the man in your pic.
  17. The only story I remember involving Marie and an airplane was when she and Alex Marshall were in a plane crash and were stranded in the mountains. That was around February 1981. I think Lanna Saunders was gone before John Aniston arrived in 1985, so any story with Marie and Victor would have to have been during a guest appearance by Maree Cheatham. I don't remember that happening though
  18. I actually had wondered whether he was leaving the show. SSH was so emotional in her scenes with him on Monday, I thought she was saying goodbye to him. Hope that's not the case.
  19. I wonder whether the part about Kurt raping Maggie is accurate? I've hoped that she was one of the few leading female characters on the show who wasn't raped.
  20. @slick jonesThis the only pic I found of a Grey O’Neill. It’s from 1982 so I’m assuming he’s the same one.
