Didn’t the show seemingly tease Brando and Carly? I think that might have been the original plan. All I can see Gladys doing at this point is somehow finding out about Sonny being alive and keeping it a secret; perhaps even working with Nina. Other than that I don’t see what other use she could serve on the show.

Has age differences ever been brought up between Victor and one of his former much younger lovers? In the past 15 years?

His impact on TD was hardly positive. I get a sense that if Doug had stayed on to be Co-HW with Pam, we most likely would have never witnessed the decimation of the Bauer’s like we did. While I believe Pam never wanted to initially write them out, Marland would have fought tooth and nail against network brass to keep them on the show.

GAWD NO I will miss LG. She brought energy to the role and any story she was in. I’ll also miss her and Xander as a couple; they were unlike any of the recently paired couples on the show. I don’t believe RC really planned for those two to take off as a pairing the way they did. Her acting ticks aside, overall I thought she was a good actress and there’s going to be a void on the canvas in her absence.

I felt the scene between Cameron and Liz needed better scripting/writing (more denial and then gradual realization that it was true) and yes maybe better direction in regard to how Lipton played out the scene. I echo those who say that I could care less about Franco, but I’m interested in seeing those affected by his death; Scotty, Liz, Cameron.

Ron is kind of ripping off the Tomsell story too. I thought i might tune in while Sami is in town but even her appearances have been few and far between, and the Charlie murder mystery is pretty much nonexistent.

Growing up during the 90s I could never get into Another World. I could easily get into soaps like DAYS, GL, even ATWT for they had families such as the Hortons, Bauer’s, and Hughes to keep it grounded, as well as other family units. AW was a different animal, it seemed to lack a set of core families with the exception of the Corys (the Hudson’s I was not fond of). I came to learn later on about the existence of the Matthew’s, but growing up AW simply seemed it was more based upon friendships rather than families. Y&R was another show, but appeared to be more about business than anything else; and it appeared to be slow moving storytelling wise. Suffice to say, over time and as my tastes matured, I came to actually like the above listed soaps after having watched videos from each of their golden periods.

Thanks for the walk down memory lane; the show was so very bad. Yikes. The show looked good, I loved nuBoarding house and Revas super modern home, but the writing was atrocious. I always wished they would play up Blake being the outsider (and Rogers daughter) wanting to topple the Spaildings somewhere later on; but that never came to fruition.

And this was why I wasn’t a fan of this story from the start, and besides how many times is Ron going to go the route of lookalikes/doppelgängers switching spots? At this point I just want Kristen/Susan off the canvas because I need a break.

Yawn. This story has been really uninspiring; if not for the performances. Ron is so predictable with his story choices.

GL: The Lighthouse Gala was supposed to be in time for GL’s 50th Anniversary on television coordinated by Meta and the Spauldings. Mary Stuart passed and Josh and Revas wedding was then plotted to coincide with the anniversary. I personally hoped they would keep it, as a rival to the Nurses Ball on GH. At the time Martha Stewart did time for insider trading, GL was teasing of a similar story for Phillip under Taggart/Culliton. This could have also been used to keep Phillip and Olivia apart for some time, however as soon as ConWest took over this was dropped. Everyone knows Alex was NOT MEANT to be are as stalker. Danny Santos and Cassie Layne were supposed to be more than just a flirtation. Mallet and Mindy were dropped too during the Curlee era. During the ex wives club Alex was blackmailing Mindy I believe? That was dropped and never revisited with ConWest. During one of India’s visits wasn’t it implied that Dorie(the child India took in during the mid 80s) might be in trouble or Alan was holding something over that was related to Dorie.

Ron not only kills off Bill Horton, but he kills off Laura too? 😠 Yeah I’ve been meaning to take a little break from DAYS and I see this might be the perfect time to do so. I’m already annoyed at the Kristen storyline, the Ben/Ciara story is the dumps, I’m not here for Nicole being put through the ringer for her impending affair with Rafe. It’s just all too much. I might drop in to see Sami’s return or Jackee Harry characters debut but that’s it.

I don’t love the flashbacks, but I don’t hate them either.

Yeah I couldn’t take the Kristen scenes today; conflict drummed up from a misunderstanding 🙄

I really like the unfolding of the Gwen storyline in today’s episode. Great pacing.

Really enjoyed the Tripp and Patch scenes for some reason yesterday, especially the comparison Patch made about him behaving the same way when he was Tripp’s age. It just sucks that so much investment has been given to Tripp/Patch and not Patch and his other children. I’m going to miss Xander and Charlie’s friendship. It showed a very different side to Xander. I hope the show continues to have Xander interact with other characters outside of the Kiriakis circle.

Currently enjoying this show the most out of the UK soaps. I’m liking how much of the stories are starting to connect and involve multiple characters. I’m sure like usual it won’t last.

I’ve never liked Faith, seemed like they were trying to fill the void left behind by killing off Val, by introducing this incarnation of Faith Dingle.

Trump’s comeuppance-Mitch McConnell and Mike Pence turning against him, has played out like some William J. Bell story, a slow burn for almost five years all culminating in one moment. I love it. Today is a glorious day.
