  2. While there weren’t four weddings and a funeral happening on any of the soaps during the week of July 28-August 1, 2025, the death of a legacy character on “The Young and the Restless,” and the wedding that wasn’t on “General Hospital” saw the two daytime dramas set multi-month or season highs among Total Viewers and the key sales demographics used to sell ads. CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” was up week-to-week for the fourth consecutive week, attracting its largest overall audience in 22 weeks (since the week of February 24-28, 2025) with 3.171 million viewers tuning in. The show was up +96,000 week-to-week and a mighty +375,000 compared to the same week last year. Among Women 18-49, the long-running series saw its best performance in 17 weeks (since the week of March 31-April 4, 2025) with a 0.21 rating. Meanwhile, among Women 25-54, the soap had its best rating in five weeks with a 0.47 rating. After 45 weeks, ABC’s “General Hospital” attracted what appears to be its largest overall audience of the 2024-2025 television season*, while also averaging more than two million viewers for just the second time in six months (since week of February 17-21, 2025). With 2.059 million viewers watching the happenings in Port Charles, the drama had the second-largest week-to-week gain across daytime, up +198,000, and year-over-year, up +224,000. Demographically, “General Hospital” tied its season high among Women 25-54 (0.36 rating), which was set during the week of January 6-10, 2025. Meanwhile, among Women 18-49, the soap’s 0.21 rating was its best in 10 weeks (since week of May 19-23, 2025), and tied for the show’s third best rating of the season overall. While not as impressive as the other two soaps, “The Bold and the Beautiful” averaged 2.604 million viewers for the week, its largest in 14 weeks (since the week of April 21-25, 2025), and was also up week-to-week, up +33,000, and year-over-year, up +103,000. Despite airing reruns, the second half-hour of “The Price is Right” attracted its largest overall audience in 15 weeks (since the week of April 21-25, 2025), its best performance among Women 25-54 in four weeks (0.62 rating) and set a new season high among Women 18-49 (0.47 rating). Wrap-Up What follows is a breakdown of how the daytime broadcast shows performed during the week of July 28-August 1, 2025 among Women 18-49 rating, Women 25-54 rating, including week-to-week and year-over-year performance comparisons. 3. “And Just Like That…” has been canceled after just three seasons at HBO Max, with producers announcing the series will conclude with a two-part finale. A continuation of the iconic comedy series “Sex and the City,” which netted 54 Emmy nominations, including one for Outstanding Comedy Series, and wins for series stars Sarah Jessica Parker and Cynthia Nixon, “And Just Like That…” follows Carrie (Parker), Miranda (Nixon), Charlotte (Kristin Davis), Seema (Sarita Choudhury), and LTW (Nicole Ari Parker) as they navigate the complicated reality of life, love, sex, and friendship in their 50s in New York City. “And just like that… the ongoing storytelling of the ‘Sex And The City’ universe is coming to an end. While I was writing the last episode of ‘And Just Like That… season 3, it became clear to me that this might be a wonderful place to stop,” said Michael Patrick King, who served as showrunner, writer and director, in a statement shared across the show’s social media handles, including X (formerly Twitter). “Along with Sarah Jessica Parker, Casey Bloys and Sarah Aubrey, we decided to end the popular series this year with a two-part finale and extended the original series order from 10 episodes to 12. SJP and I held off on announcing the news until now because we didn’t want the word ‘final’ to overshadow the fun of watching the season,” continued King. “It’s with great gratitude we thank all the viewers who have let these characters into their homes and hearts over these many years.” When the series concludes later this month, just 33 episodes will have been produced, far fewer than the 94 produced over six seasons for “Sex and the City.” Season 1 consisted of 10 episodes, while Season 2 had 11 episodes. HBO Max “Carrie Bradshaw has dominated my professional heartbeat for 27 years. I think I have loved her most of all. I know others have loved her just as I have. Been frustrated, condemned and rooted for her,” commented Parker in a lengthy post on Instagram, following news of the show’s cancellation. “The symphony of all those emotions has been the greatest soundtrack and most consequential companion. Therefore the most sentimental and profound gratitude and lifetime of debt. To you all. MPK and I together recognized, as we have in the past, this chapter complete. AJLT was all joy, adventure, the greatest kind of hard work alongside the most extraordinary talent of 380 that includes all the brilliant actors who joined us. I am better for every single day I spent with you. It will be forever before I forget. The whole thing. Thank you all. I love you so. I hope you love these final two episodes as much as we all do. Rabbit rabbit.” Sarah Jessica Parker Craig Blankenhorn/HBO Max In addition to King, executive producers for “And Just Like That…” include John Melfi, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis, Cynthia Nixon, Julie Rottenberg, Elisa Zuritsky and Susan Fales-Hill. The HBO series “Sex and the City” was created by Darren Star and was based on the book “Sex and the City” by Candace Bushnell. Additional cast members include Cathy Ang, Mehcad Brooks, Jonathan Cake, Mario Cantone, Niall Cunningham, David Eigenberg, Evan Handler, Christopher Jackson, Logan Marshall-Green, Sebastiano Pigazzi, Alexa Swinton, Dolly Wells and John Corbett. 4. A new “hot male” is coming to “Beyond the Gates” this fall and fans of daytime soaps “all know and love him,” executive producers Michele Val Jean and Sheila Ducksworth recently revealed during an interview conducted in celebration of the show’s 100th episode, which aired Tuesday, July 29. “I think the soap opera world will be very, very happy about [the casting]. And it’s a male,” said Val Jean, who also serves as creator, showrunner and head writer, on the casting while speaking with Deadline. Ducksworth echoed Val Jean’s comments, noting, “I can’t say who just yet, but I will say longtime soap fans all know and love him!” Wendy Osefo, Gizelle Bryant Phylicia J. L. Munn/Bravo While details on the mystery man remain under wraps, it was previously announced that Gizelle Bryant and Dr. Wendy Osefo from “The Real Housewives of Potomac” will visit Fairmont Crest in the fall. “They both recently joined us for a day on set and they have some super fun scenes that we can’t wait to share,” said Ducksworth of what fans can look forward to when they appear. “It’s going to be great because it brings authenticity to the setting of Fairmont Crest, and so I think it’s going to be fun for the fans. And that’s going to be in the fall, so it’s not too far away,” said Daphnée Duplaix, who portrays Dr. Nicole Dupree Richardson on the soap, to news anchor Aleah Hordges during an appearance last month on WKRC Local 12 News. Aleah is the real-life sister of Jibre Hordges, who plays Jacob Hawthorne on “Beyond the Gates.” Duplaix was joined by her “Beyond the Gates” co-stars Keith D. Robinson (Dr. Ted Richardson) and Colby Muhammad (Katherine “Kat” Richardson) as they were in town for the Cincinnati Music Festival and a panel discussion presented by Procter & Gamble, which co-produces the show alongside CBS Studios and the NAACP. Karen Huger, Marquita Goings Quantrell Colbert/CBS Bryant and Osefo follow in the footsteps of fellow Housewife Karen Huger, who made a memorable cameo appearance in the premiere episode of “Beyond the Gates” earlier this year, where she could be heard saying, “Welcome to Fairmont Crest!” as she snapped her fingers in the sky as Hayley Lawson (Marquita Goings) recovered from the backhanded slap she received from Dani Dupree (Karla Mosley). What Do You Think? Who is the familiar soap hunk set to join the rich and the fabulous Duprees in Fairmont Crest, and who will he mix it up with in particular? Plus, is the soap doing the right thing, having reality TV stars making the rounds? Let us know in the comments below. 6. Winning two Emmy Awards during his run as Morgan Corinthos on “General Hospital,” actor Bryan Craig is looking to return to daytime soaps, noting interest in either reprising his role or taking on a different character altogether. Following last week’s news that “Days of our Lives” would be recasting the role of Javi Hernandez after Al Calderon opted to depart the soap opera as he has landed a series regular role on NBC’s “Brilliant Minds,” Craig shared interest in taking over the role in a post from Saturday, August 2, saying on X (formerly Twitter), “@daysofourlives I hear you’re in need of a ‘Javi.’” Interestingly, Craig played the role of Javier “Javi” Mendoza on the ABC primetime soap opera “Grand Hotel.” Executive produced by Eva Longoria (“Desperate Housewives”), the series followed the last family-owned hotel in multicultural Miami Beach, which gave a fresh take on an upstairs/downstairs story surrounding wealthy and beautiful guests as they basked in luxury, scandals, escalating debt, and explosive secrets hidden beneath the picture-perfect exterior. In a follow-up post on X, posted on Sunday, August 3, Craig noted he was also game for a return to Port Charles and thanked the show’s fans for their support of him throughout the years. “Just want to say thank you. I appreciate all the love and support all the @GeneralHospital fans and the tabloids have given me,” said Craig in his X post. “It will ultimately be up to @ABC_Casting @ABCNetwork @valentinifrank,” he added, referring to the show’s executive producer Frank Valentini. This isn’t the first time Craig has shared an interest in returning to daytime. In September 2020, when most of the daytime soaps had already returned to production following the height of the Covid pandemic, Craig took to Twitter (before its rebrand), saying, “I’m ready to work and up for grabs so who’s it gonna be?” The actor attached the official handles of the four daytime drama series at the time, including his old stomping ground, “General Hospital.” Note: The post Bryan Craig Seeks Return To Daytime Soaps, Open To Joining ‘Days Of Our Lives’ As Recast Javi Hernandez appeared first on the Soap Opera Network website. 7. Jill Farren Phelps, whose name has been synonymous with a multitude of daytime soap operas since 1984, including “Santa Barbara,” Guiding Light,” “Another World,” “One Life to Live” and “General Hospital,” among others, has returned to the genre as a producer at “The Young and the Restless,” Soap Opera Network can confirm. Back at the show’s studio for several months, sources initially indicated that Phelps had returned in a non-producing capacity after previously serving as the show’s executive producer from 2012-2016. However, following the news of Elizabeth Hendrickson directing at the drama series, with the actress announcing in an Instagram post that included a list of names she thanked for helping her throughout the process, including current executive producer and head writer Josh Griffith, who she said, “greenlit my goals from the start,” Hendrickson also included Phelps’ name among those thank yous. Sources subsequently confirmed Phelps’ return to the soap as a producer. Receiving her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in directing from Carnegie Mellon University, Phelps began her career in daytime television in 1974 as a production assistant at CBS’ “Guiding Light.” After three years in New York, she took her chance in Hollywood in 1977 to become a music director/supervisor at “General Hospital,” a position she held until 1984, when a similar opportunity arose at “Santa Barbara.” During her time at the NBC drama series, she held various positions, including producer, supervising producer, and eventually executive producer. Taking her experience at the two Los Angeles-based soap operas, Phelps returned to New York to become executive producer of “Guiding Light,” the daytime soap that began her career in television. She would go on to executive produce sister soap “Another World,” before ultimately landing back at ABC, this time as executive producer of “One Life to Live.” Successfully increasing the show’s ratings, particularly in the key Women 18-49 sales demographic where it consistently rivaled the network’s flagship soap “General Hospital,” Phelps was soon promoted at the network to become executive producer of said flagship. During her time in Port Charles, Phelps helped successfully launch spinoff series “General Hospital: Night Shift” for SOAPnet, the now defunct cable network dedicated to same day episodes of current daytime dramas at night. Following her exit from “General Hospital” in 2012, Phelps executive produced “Hollywood Heights,” a primetime drama for Teen Nick centering on a group of teens and young adults. Several familiar names starred in the series including Melissa Ordway (“The Young and the Restless”), Brittany Underwood (“One Life to Live”), the late Cody Longo (“Days of our Lives”), Robert Adamson (“The Young and the Restless”), Hunter King (“The Young and the Restless”), Grayson McCouch (“As The World Turns”) and Tina Huang (“Days of our Lives”), among others. Josh Griffith, who currently serves as executive producer and head writer of “The Young and the Restless,” worked alongside Phelps at “Hollywood Heights” as the show’s head writer. The series was produced by Sony Pictures Television, which announced in July 2012 that the duo would continue in those roles, but this time at the long-running daytime drama series, replacing Maria Arena Bell. Throughout her career, Phelps received 14 Daytime Emmy Award nominations, including 11 wins. Five wins came from her work at “General Hospital,” with three others from “The Young and the Restless.” Note: The post Jill Farren Phelps Returns To ‘The Young And The Restless’ appeared first on the Soap Opera Network website. 8. When the cast of “General Hospital” gets back to work on Monday, August 4, after being given the entire month of July off as part of the show’s summer hiatus, actor Chris L. McKenna will return to the Prospect Studios in Hollywood as a contract cast member, six months after making his debut in Port Charles in the recurring role of Jack Brennan on the ABC drama series. Following the exit of Charles Mesure, who originated the role, several soap veterans reportedly auditioned for the role of Brennan, Director of World Security Bureau (WSB), who heads up operations in Port Charles, but it was McKenna who ultimately swayed producers with his charming portrayal of the station chief. As a result, and with the way things are going in story, it only makes sense for the show to lock in the venerable actor. “The overwhelming support from you beautiful people helped make it happen,” said McKenna in a post on X (formerly Twitter). “Appreciate you all so much. I’d love to give a big old (CLASSIFIED) kiss to each one of you! “@ChrisLMcKenna is not only a phenomenal actor but he is also the nicest & funniest human being ever. And he knows how to land a fun pose. Such a pleasure to meet him,” said “General Hospital” fan @EmilinaB in a post on X that included a posed photo with the actor following the kick-off of the annual General Hospital Fan Club Weekend event that took place this weekend at the Embassy Suites in Glendale, CA. In response to the photo, McKenna joked, “Poster for NCIS: Glendale.” “It was a pleasure meeting @ChrisLMcKenna last night and Chris, based on this picture alone, I am sure most people would get the question wrong as to which one of us was a “singing dancing wood nymph,” commented Michael Cipes (@PopCultureBlitz) in another post shared on X. The news of McKenna’s status change was first announced at the top of his event with co-star Bradford Anderson (Damian Spinelli) on Friday, August 1, Soap Central reported. During the event, the pair performed a duet of the song “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feeling” by The Righteous Brothers, and written by Phil Spector, Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil. Coming up, look for McKenna to reunite with his former “One Life to Live” TV mom Erika Slezak (ex-Victoria Lord Buchanan) when she joins the cast of “General Hospital” as a new character. In an interview with Michael Fairman TV, conducted before Slezak’s casting at “General Hospital,” McKenna said, “Erika Slezak means so much to me. She still calls me her son, but says, ‘You’re not my son anymore. You’re so grown up.’ I said, ‘Not true. It’ll never be true. I’m always your son.’ What I wouldn’t do to work with her for one day again.” McKenna portrayed Joey Buchanan on "One Life to Live," the youngest son of Slezak's character, from 1990-1993. His other credits include the role of Detective Mark Harding on "The Young and the Restless" and Dr. Hayden on "The Bold and the Beautiful," as well as guest appearances on several primetime shows, including "90210," "NCIS: New Orleans," "Criminal Minds," "State of Affairs," "Chicago Fire," "S.W.A.T." and "Good Trouble" among others. 9. I think they mean when Tracey Thomson's name will appear in the credits as co-head writer with Michele Val Jean as head writer. It's my understanding that Guza left somewhere between when the show premiered in February and early April. So, his name should remain in the credits for a few more weeks. I'll check, but the shift could/should happen around or before September.
  10. Making her television acting debut in a 2001 episode of “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” veteran soap star Elizabeth Hendrickson (“The Young and the Restless,” “All My Children”) has recently taken on a different kind of role, this time working behind the scenes as a director. Hendrickson, who currently appears in the recurring role of Chloe Mitchell on “The Young and the Restless,” announced the news in an Instagram post, saying, “After 24 years in front of the camera, I’m thrilled to be able to tell you all that I’ve stepped behind it.” She added, “I’ve spent the past 18 months up in the booth, shadowing, observing & absorbing — not knowing if it would ever turn into something more. There were hurdles but I kept showing up, paying attention, and fell in love with the process.” “On Tuesday the 5th my first episode will air,” Hendrickson continued. “I hope you enjoy it as much as I did directing it. The privilege (and pressure of working with two giants of our genre, Eric Braeden [Victor Newman] and Melody Thomas Scott [Nikki Newman], on my first day was not lost on me. I have been supported every step of the way by my ‘Y&R’ family…the amazing cast and crew. I have deep gratitude for so many people from Y&R, Sony and CBS. Eric Braeden, Elizabeth Hendrickson e.c.hendrickson/Instagram “Huge thanks to Josh Griffith, our Executive Producer and Head Writer, who greenlit my goals from the start. Danielle Unger [Director in Current Programming, CBS], Renée Villafan [VP, Production & Soaps, Sony Pictures Television], Matt Olsen [Associate Producer], Jonathan Fishman [Producer], Vivianne Gundaker [Producer], Robbin Phyllips [Associate Director], Matt Kane [Director, Media and Talent], Jill Farren Phelps [Producer]…..It took support and determination from so many.. and I got it. And to Owen Renfroe [Director] — the best teacher and mentor I could’ve asked for — thank you for your time, wisdom and belief in me.” e.c.hendrickson/Instagram In response to Hendrickson’s news, several of her current and former colleagues across daytime shared words of congratulations and enthusiasm for the next chapter in her journey, including Finola Hughes, Tracey E. Bregman, Courtney Hope, Greg Rikaart, Rory Gibson, Melissa Claire Egan, Eildeen Davidson, Lauralee Bell, Jonathan Bennett, Jordi Vilasuso, Melissa Ordway, Kate Linder, Nathan Owens, Kate Mansi, Ryan Carnes, Laura Wright, Andrea Bogart, Billy Flynn, Julia Pace, Alicia Minshew, William deVry, Redding Munsell, Brian Gaskill, and a whole host of others. “Lizzy!!! This is soooo fantastic! I am sure you were amazing! Huge congrats!” said Minshew, who played Kendall Hart on “All My Children” during Hendrickson’s run on the soap, where she played the role of twins Maggie Stone and Frankie Stone, although not at the same time. “It’s here!!! Can’t wait to see!! Infinitely proud of your hard work,” commented Mansi, who currently appears as Kristina Corinthos-Davis on “General Hospital.” “Right on, congrats! Keep up the great work my friend,” cheered Owens, who appears as Holden Novak on “The Young and the Restless.” e.c.hendrickson/Instagram “Brilliant!!! Congratulations, that is an amazing amazing accomplishment! So damn proud of you!! No mean feat xxx,” exclaimed Hughes, who portrays Anna Devane on “General Hospital,” where she worked with Hendrickson, who previously played Margaux Dawson on the ABC daytime soap. “So very proud of you ! Yay” echoed Linder, who has starred as Esther Valentine on “The Young and the Restless” for more than 43 years, and portrays Hendrickson’s character’s mother. “You’re amazing! Such a natural. So excited and so PROUD OF YOU!!” enthused Egan, who plays Chelsea Lawson, a dear friend of Hendrickson’s character on “The Young and the Restless.” “And your so good at it! Can’t wait for more,” proclaimed Hope, who plays Sally Spectra on “The Young and the Restless.” Look for Hendrickson’s episode of “The Young and the Restless” to air on Tuesday, August 5, which is episode #13181, and will see Victor and Nikki arguing about family matters, while Jill (Jess Walton) and Billy (Jason Thompson) share a heated exchange. Meanwhile, Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) seeks to protect her interests. Hendrickson joins a growing list of female soap stars who challenged themselves to go beyond the front of the camera by becoming directors, including Kimberly McCullough (ex-Robin Scorpio, “General Hospital”), Alison Sweeney (Sami Brady, “Days of our Lives”) and Heather Tom (Katie Logan, “The Bold and the Beautiful”), among others. 15. “The Young and the Restless” star Kate Linder (Esther Valentine) has once again teamed up with ALS Network to host a charity event benefitting ALS research and care, in honor of her late mother, Molly Wolveck. Appearing on the CBS daytime drama series for more than 43 years, Linder became the celebrity spokesperson and ambassador for ALS and ALS Network in 2004, just as her late brother-in-law Scott Buzzell, was diagnosed with ALS, with Linder and her late husband, Dr. Ron Linder, as well as their families, including Molly, determined to do everything they could to find a cure. Fundraising, raising awareness and lobbying Congress for ALS Network for more than two decades, Linder recognizes the dedication ALS Network has in finding treatments and cures for the insidious disease. With her late mother’s dual commitments to both art and to finding a cure for ALS through the ALS Network, Linder will host a reception and art sale to celebrate her artwork on Sunday, August 17, from 2:00-5:00 p.m. PT at the 9176 Gallery, located at 9176 Sunset Blvd., West Hollywood, CA. “I’m thrilled that my mom’s artwork will once again be able to help people with ALS through the ALS Network,” said Linder in a statement. “I’m looking forward to seeing everyone there for a wonderful afternoon filled with amazing art from my mom and from other artists so that we can make even more progress towards finding a cure for ALS.” Wolveck passed away on June 1, 2023. She was 98 years old. During last year’s fundraiser event, Linder donated even more of her mom’s artwork. Additionally, Craig Byrd and Roy Oldenkamp were inspired to donate artwork by other artists from their personal collections to help the worthy cause. The art will be on display and available for purchase with all of the proceeds going to the ALS Network. To attend the event, submit RSVPs to TeamKateLinder.org. The gallery space is generously being donated by local Southern California developer Faring. All proceeds benefit ALS Network. For more information about the event, check out the flyer below. Kate Linder; ALS Network About ALS Network Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal, neurodegenerative illness that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. People with ALS lose the ability to move, speak, swallow, and, eventually, to breathe – all while their minds and senses usually continue to function. People who have served in any branch of the military are diagnosed with ALS nearly twice as often as the general population. Currently, there are no known cures for ALS and only modestly effective treatments. The mission of the ALS Network is to partner with the ALS community as we drive the discovery of prevention strategies, treatments, and cures for ALS; provide access to quality care and connection; and promote initiatives to improve health outcomes. 16. The Erika Slezak Fan Club, maintained by its president, Walter Miller, unveiled a brand new website design on Wednesday featuring more photographs, career highlights, fan club memories and a treasure trove of content from “One Life to Live,” particularly material connected to Slezak’s character, Victoria Lord Buchanan. In addition to the new layout, a new email address has also been created to enable fans to better connect with the fan club: [email protected]. Miller notes that fans should add the email address to their contacts, as this will help ensure they continue receiving updates and prevent emails from ending up in spam or junk folders. Elsewhere, the fan club confirmed that Slezak will be playing a new character on “General Hospital” when she begins taping episodes in September, which are slated to air in the fall. To visit the new website, check out erikaslezak.com. Courtesy of Erika Slezak Fan Club (Walter Miller) As previously reported, the six-time Emmy award-winning actress announced in June that she had signed a short-term contract with the daytime drama series. At the time, Slezak did not know which character she would be playing or when her scenes would air. Still, she was excited to be working again with former “One Life to Live” executive producer Frank Valentini, who since 2012 has overseen the day-to-day operations of “General Hospital” as that show’s executive producer. “I am thrilled to confirm that my dear friend and former ‘One Life to Live’ colleague, Erika Slezak, will appear on @GeneralHospital this Fall. Stay tuned as we prepare to introduce another daytime legend to Port Charles,” said Valentini in a message posted to X (formerly Twitter) shortly after Slezak’s initial casting was announced. Earlier this month, Daytime Confidential was the first to report that Slezak would be portraying a brand new character when she arrives in Port Charles. According to a “rumor report” from the outlet, the character will be revealed to be the long-lost sister of Dr. Monica Quartermaine (played until 2023 by the late Leslie Charleson). Should Slezak join the cast as a relative of Monica’s, it would mark the first time since the character’s introduction in 1976 (then played by Patsy Rahn) that the soap opera would establish a sibling for her, considering Monica was known to have been an orphan raised by Gail Baldwin (played by the late Susan Brown) with no direct family ties introduced beyond her cousin Lorena Sharpe Barrington (Shelley Taylor Morgan). In the years since “One Life to Live” went off the air in January 2012, Slezak went on to reprise her role from the show for the short-lived 2013 online revival that was produced by Prospect Park Networks, which at the time had landed the exclusive licensing rights to the show’s characters. The company went on to sue ABC, accusing the network of looking to create a “mega soap” scheme following the network’s use of key “One Life to Live” characters on “General Hospital.” Prospect Park Networks had been seeking more than $95 million in damages. By December 2012, the lawsuit had been dismissed, with the rights to both the “One Life to Live” brand and characters returning to ABC, along with the rights to the “All My Children” brand and characters. Playing Viki on “One Life to Live” for more than 40 years, Slezak won six Emmy Awards, each in the category of Outstanding Lead Actress in a Daytime Drama Series, earning the most wins of any individual actress. By 2018, Slezak would make her first appearance after the dual cancellations of “One Life to Live,” playing the role of Helen in an episode of “The Resident.” She followed that up with an appearance in the May 3, 2019 episode of “Blue Bloods, playing the role of Donna Duvall. She again reprised the role in the January 6, 2023 episode In 2021, Slezak made her Hallmark Channel original movie debut, appearing alongside soap alums Lyndsy Fonseca (“The Young and the Restless”) and Chandler Massey (“Days of our Lives”) in “Next Stop, Christmas.” Lea Thompson (“Back to the Future”) and Christopher Lloyd (“Back to the Future”) also starred in the holiday movie. Slezak and her husband, Brian Davies, sadly lost their daughter, Amanda Elizabeth Davies, in January 2024. 17. They gained viewers, but were down slightly in the key demos. They still beat GH among Women 18-49, and tied among Women 25-54. It's within range of its average for the last few months. I'd rather more significant gains, but not being far off from B&B in the demos is a win to me.

Extra fun hanging with our friends at #GH.” In response to Bell’s post, the official account of the game show said, “Let’s do it!” “We were definitely feuding,” joked Finola Hughes during an appearance on “Live with Kelly and Mark” in May, which was taped not too long after she returned from the Atlanta studio where the game show is taped. Finola Hughes, Kelly Ripa, Mark Consuelos Lorenzo Bevilaqua/Disney “I was the captain! Well, that means that you go up first and I realized that the little buzzer was a little high. So, when everyone was sort of busy doing other things, I went over and I was practicing with the buzzer, so that I could be fast. But I was practicing at home with Sadie and Cash!” she added, referencing her daughter and son, who thought she would be awful at the game. “We don’t have a buzzer on our counter in the kitchen, every time I would do it, I kept going ‘Bzzz, bzzz!’ You know, and Cash was like, ‘You know you can’t do that when you come on the show?” In a promo for the upcoming episode, Steve Harvey asks the question, “Name something your mate’s booty has in common with the basketball.” Rena Sofer said, “It bounces,” while Maurice Benard stated, “Air comes out?” Check out a promo for the episode below. 21. Technically, Deadline's "sources" are saying they are recasting the role, so the show didn't necessarily tell the outlet anything different from what I previously reported. Haha.
  22. With Al Calderon being cast as a series regular on “Brilliant Minds,” it looks like “Days of our Lives” will indeed be recasting the role of Javi Hernandez. Although a spokesperson for the daytime drama series told Soap Opera Network, “We do not comment on the contract status of our actors, but fans should not worry, ‘Javi’ is alive and well in Salem,” following news of Calderon joining the NBC primetime medical drama, Deadline reported on Wednesday that the soap opera is seeking to recast his role. According to the outlet, Calderon has been busy taping new episodes of “Days of our Lives,” which are slated to air in May 2026. Calderon first appeared in Salem in October 2024, though he began taping episodes at the soap opera in February 2024, a result of the soap’s advanced tape-to-air schedule. Inspired by the extraordinary life and work of world-famous author and physician Oliver Sacks, “Brilliant Minds” follows Dr. Oliver Wolf (Zachary Quinto), a revolutionary, larger-than-life neurologist and his team of interns as they explore the last great frontier – the human mind – while grappling with their own relationships and mental health. Calderon will portray Nurse Silva on the series, who is described as the Mayor of Bronx General. With his ability to run the hospital while looking good doing it, his warm, funny and outgoing charm may or may not be the reason why he knows everything about everyone at work. In addition to Calderon, new cast members joining the show during Season 2 include Brian Altemus and John Clarence Stewart, with the former playing Dr. Charlie Porter, the new neurology resident who is guarded, competitive and hiding something from his fellow doctors. Meanwhile, Stewart will play Dr. Anthony Thorne, a mid-career ER doctor who’s grown a little too comfortable with the maxim that emergency medicine is blue-collar work. The series cast also includes Tamberla Perry as Dr. Carol Pierce, Ashleigh LaThrop as Ericka Kinney, Alex MacNicoll as Dr. Van Markus, Aury Krebs, Spence Moore II as Jacob Nash, Teddy Sears as Dr. Josh Nichols (“One Life to Live”) and Donna Murphy as Dr. Muriel Landon. Bellamy Young (“Scandal”) recently signed on as a recurring guest star. “Brilliant Minds” was created by Michael Grassi, who also serves as writer and executive producer. Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Leigh London Redman, Lee Toland Krieger, DeMane Davis, Melissa Aouate, Henrik Bastin, Jonathan Cavendish, Andy Serkis and Shefali Malhoutra also executive produce. Berlanti Productions, Fabel Entertainment, The Imaginarium, Grassi Productions and Tavala produce in association with Warner Bros. Television and Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group. Season 2 of the medical drama premieres Monday, September 22 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT, following “The Voice.” Note: The post Al Calderon Exits ‘Days Of Our Lives’; Soap Plans To Recast Javi Hernandez Character appeared first on the Soap Opera Network website.
