Filmed in Naples and Capri, the episodes feature cast members Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke Logan), John McCook (Eric Forrester), Thorsten Kaye (Ridge Forrester) and Jack Wagner (Nick Marone), who traveled on location for filming in the exotic locales in late May, with the premise of their characters escaping to Italy as the battle for Brooke’s heart comes to a head. Currently embroiled in a romantic triangle, where she has to choose between Ridge and Nick, Brooke is surprised when she receives a proposal from Nick during an epic boat ride. Meanwhile, as is tradition, Forrester Creations showcases their exciting new Capril line in a glamorous fashion show, filmed in a breathtaking setting among islands of the Mediterranean Sea in a collaboration with famed Italian designer Luisa Beccaria. ARTICLE: ‘Days Of Our Lives’ EP Ken Corday On Show’s Renewal At Peacock: “Excited To Continue Exploring And Telling Meaningful And Fun Stories”
Following today’s news from Peacock that the streaming service had ordered two additional seasons of “Days of our Lives,” bringing the show through the 2027-2028 television season with seasons 62 and 63, executive producer Ken Corday, whose company Corday Productions also owns and produces the soap opera, issued a statement soon after, noting, “The future of ‘Days of our Lives’ has never been brighter.” “This is a celebration for us without doubt, continuing with our NBCU family – 60 years this fall, and beyond,” continued Corday. “Our on- and off-screen family is excited to continue exploring and telling meaningful and fun stories for many, many more years to come.” The renewal by Peacock will see “Days of our Lives” through six seasons as a streaming exclusive with the service after it was announced in August 2022 that the series would segue from broadcaster NBC after 57 seasons. The long-running drama, which debuted November 8, 1965 on the network, began its streaming exclusive run at Peacock on September 12, 2022. The transition from broadcast to streaming was something long expected by Corday, who told Soap Opera Network in our May 2021 interview, “Network television reaches a certain audience but not necessarily the same audience that streaming platforms reach, and I think Peacock is doing quite well. It’s flourishing at a time when network television may not be flourishing.” He added, “The show is doing very well on Peacock, and I see the future of ‘Days of our Lives’ in the decades that will come, from now into the 20s, will be more of a streaming appointment than a network appointment.” As for any particular changes to how the daytime drama series was produced at the time, something many fans have cited as an issue to them, Corday noted in the same interview that the model works for the show and there were no plans to change things, particularly as said model kept the show airing originals during the height of the Covid pandemic in 2020 when other shows, including the other soap operas, were airing reruns. At the time, Corday pointed out how “grateful” he was for sticking to his “guns” by keeping to the show’s production schedule, saying, “We were getting ahead and ahead, so by the time the pandemic hit in March of last year we were seven-plus months ahead, which means we didn’t have to air repeats.” “Without being egotistical, I think I know what works and doesn’t, and so what if we’re producing shows that air in four or six months? Our viewers are going to come to it as long as we don’t fudge around and start second-guessing ourselves and pulling punches and not telling the story because we don’t know if it’s going to work or not,” continued Corday, who cited a a famous quote from the Roman poet, Virgil, which said, “Fortune sides with him who dares.” As for anyone questioning the decision, at the time, Corday stated, “I would be kidding if I said we just decided one day to get ahead.” Elaborating on how the production model evolved, he said, “It had to do with budget consideration…how we’d produce in three weeks the same amount of shows we produce in four, four and a half weeks so that the cast and crew can get rested for a week, and I don’t have to pay for that fourth week of production which saves us quite a bit of money.” Incidentally, at the time of the interview in 2021, the show had just been renewed for a 57th and 58th season, though reaching the big 6-0 was something Corday was most looking forward to. “Hopefully, we reach 60,” he said at the time. “That will be one hell of a milestone. For a television show to be on the air for 60 years is quite the apparition from the norm.” This year, Corday and the show’s cast have already seen the show through its 60th season, which they finished taping earlier this year due to the show’s advanced tape-to-air schedule. The show will celebrate its 60th anniversary on November 8, 2025. Continuing to recap our conversation with Corday, at the time, he explained what he thought made the show so successful, factoring in its reliance on telling stories about “romance, adventure and intrigue.” “We’ve never gotten away from that formula that my dad knew when he created the show, and my mother followed for the next 15 years, and I have done as well,” said Corday at the time. “You just [think], ‘Well, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.’ You can polish it up or add spokes, but basically, it’s stories of family in Salem that have driven the show for five decades.” Following the the lives, loves, and conflicts of the Horton, Brady, DiMera, Kiriakis, and Hernandez families and their many friends and colleagues,” “Days of our Lives” is one of the longest-running scripted television programs in the world, and is enjoyed in many territories outside the United States, including Canada, Sweden, New Zealand, Israel, South Africa and Australia. Earlier this month, the series received 13 Daytime Emmy Award nominations for “The 52nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards,” including Outstanding Daytime Drama Series, marking the highest number of nominations the series has received since its exclusive debut on Peacock. Created by Corday’s late parents, Ted Corday and Betty Corday, “Days of our Lives” is produced by Corday Productions in association with Sony Pictures Television. Ken Corday is the show’s executive producer. Noel Maxam is the show’s co-executive producer. Head writers are Paula Cwikly and Jeanne Marie Ford. ARTICLE: CBS’ Daytime Lineup Sees Week-To-Week & Year-Over-Year Gains Among Key Demos – July 14-18, 2025
(Originally Posted July 24, 2025) During the week of July 14-18, 2025, CBS’ lineup consisting of repeats of “The Price is Right” and original episodes of “The Young and the Restless,” “The Bold and the Beautiful” and “Beyond the Gates” were the standout performers among both Women 18-49 and Women 25-54, each seeing week-to-week and/or year-over-year growth among the key sales demographics. Powerful Performance(s) On Thursday, July 17, 2025, the CBS soaps in particular saw some of their best ratings in the key sales demographics in several months, or even set season highs for an individual episode. The lineup was powered by “The Young and the Restless,” which set a season high for an individual episode among Women 18-49 with a 0.42 rating in the demo, the largest single episode rating for any soap opera season-to-date, topping the Tuesday, April 1, 2025 episode of “The Bold and the Beautiful,” which had a 0.41 rating. Meanwhile, among Women 25-54, the hour-long soap tied for its fifth-best rating of the season for an individual episode with a 0.57 rating (best since Thursday, April 3, 2025). Following “The Young and the Restless,” “The Bold and the Beautiful” tied for its second-best individual episode performance of the season among Women 25-54 with a 0.52 rating (best since Thursday, April 23, 2025). Meanwhile, “Beyond the Gates” marked its second-best performance ever for an individual episode among Women 18-49 (0.29 rating), behind only the series premiere on February 24, 2025 (0.30 rating). With a 0.44 rating among Women 25-54, the July 17, 2025 episode tied the series premiere for the second-best rating in the demo, behind only the March 3, 2025 episode (0.46 rating), which remains the highest-rated individual episode to date for the drama series. Rest of the Week As for the week itself, “The Young and the Restless” was up +0.05 week-to-week and year-over-year among Women 18-49 (0.30 rating), while up +0.01 week-to-week and +0.02 year-over-year among Women 25-54 (0.45 rating). “The Bold and the Beautiful” was up +0.03 week-to-week and year-over-year among Women 18-49 (0.26 rating) and up +0.02 week-to-week and up +0.03 year-over-year among Women 25-54 (0.40 rating). Timon Kyle Durrett, Clifton Davis CBS “Beyond the Gates” was up +0.02 week-to-week among Women 18-49 (0.22 rating) and Women 25-54 (0.34 rating), with its best performance in the former category in 15 weeks (since week of March 31-April 4, 2025) and best in the latter category in 12 weeks (since week of April 21-25, 2025). “General Hospital” was flat week-to-week in both demographics and also saw the largest year-over-year drop across daytime broadcast among both Women 18-49 (0.17 rating vs. 0.23 rating) and Women 25-54 (0.28 rating vs. 0.33 rating). Meanwhile, “GMA3” tied its series low among Women 18-49 (0.11 rating) and set a new series low among Women 25-54 (0.16 rating). UPDATE: Despite its questionable demos, wherein the show was down significantly compared to the same week last year among Women 18-49 and Women 25-54, "General Hospital" gained +46,000 viewers week-to-week and +101,000 viewers year-over-year. The long-running soap opera was the only daytime broadcast show to see growth compared to the same week last year among Total Viewers. "Beyond the Gates" grew from the year ago performance of "The Talk." Wrap-Up What follows is a breakdown of how the daytime broadcast shows performed during the week of July 14-18, 2025 among Women 18-49 rating, Women 25-54 rating, including week-to-week and year-over-year performance comparisons. ALL: Speculation on the Future of Successful Daytime Soap Operas
Love Kassie, but it's clear she, among others, is misremembering how the show's ratings were when the announcement to cancel finally came. Same for Susan Lucci and All My Children. Weeks before the dual cancellations were announced, One Life to Live started to show signs of health in terms of viewership and a growing demo performance, often topping General Hospital. Sadly, it was too little, too late. Ad rates had already been set, and for both those shows, they were significantly down revenue-wise. No matter, Susan was told the show was healthy by some mystery VP, as she said on Good Morning America, trying to quell Jamey Giddens' reporting at DC at the time. Making a dollar profit is not proof of health. Despite the political aspect of it, Paramount did, in fact, cancel The Late Show with Stephen Colbert because he was losing them millions. Being #1 in the daypart doesn't suddenly mean you're making the network/studio money. Today's announcement by Peacock that it'll keep DAYS on through 2027-2028 proves the show is making the streaming service money, even though they don't tout its success in press releases. Same with CBS/Paramount+ with it renewing The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful through 2027-2028, and to a lesser extent, Beyond the Gates through 2025-2026. Soaps are doing for the streaming services what they once did for the broadcast networks in the 1980s, helping keep the lights on and paying them bills as churn is low among the group primarily watching soaps.

ARTICLE: Game Shows ‘Jeopardy!’, ‘Wheel Of Fortune’ & ‘Family Feud’ Continue To Lead Syndication – RATINGS
During the week of July 7-13, 2025, the most recent week in which syndication ratings are available, game shows “Jeopardy!” “Wheel of Fortune” and “Family Feud” continued to top the list as the three most watched programs in national syndication, significantly higher than rebroadcasts of “Judge Judy” and “Dateline.” Newsmagazine “Inside Edition,” which is preparing to launch its 38th season in September with Eva Pilgrim (“GMA3: What You Need to Know”) taking over as anchor following the departure of Deborah Norville, once again led all shows in its category. BREAKING: Days of our Lives Renewed through Season 63 (2027-2028)
Peacock has renewed "Days of our Lives" for two additional seasons, the streaming service announced on Thursday. The deal keeps the long-running series in production through at least Season 63, or the 2027-2028 television season. Currently celebrating its 60th season, the daytime drama series continues to rank among the top 15 entertainment series on the platform since becoming exclusive to the service in September 2022. The previous deal, which was announced last year, was for just one additional season that would've run through Season 61 or the 2025-2026 season. The new deal sees the daytime drama series renewed through 2027-2028, which aligns with CBS' renewals of both "The Bold and the Beautiful" and "The Young and the Restless." "Days of our Lives" recently received 13 Daytime Emmy Award nominations for "The 52nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards," including Outstanding Daytime Drama Series, marking the highest number of nominations the series has received since its exclusive debut on Peacock. Premiering November 8, 1965, the daytime drama series follows the lives, loves, and conflicts of the Horton, Brady, DiMera, Kiriakis, and Hernandez families and their many friends and colleagues. As one of the longest-running scripted television programs in the world, it is enjoyed in many foreign territories, including Canada, Sweden, New Zealand, Israel, South Africa, and Australia. "Days of our Lives" is produced by Corday Productions in association with Sony Pictures Television. Ken Corday is the show's executive producer. Noel Maxam is a co-executive producer. Head writers are Paula Cwikly and Jeanne Marie Ford. Note: The post BREAKING: ‘Days of our Lives’ Renewed Through Season 63 At Peacock appeared first on the Soap Opera Network website. Read More

ALL: Speculation on the Future of Successful Daytime Soap Operas
I believe that was more budget than simply carrying on the ABC/WGA situation. TOLN didn't have enough money to produce both soaps in the same manner they had been accustomed to while on ABC. That's why they did half-hour episodes and only did four a week, at least initially. As money continued to dwindle, they cut back to two episodes a week and then one episode a week. To combat the lack of five episodes at launch, they launched that awful "More" show, which was an interesting concept, but poorly executed.

ALL: Speculation on the Future of Successful Daytime Soap Operas
At that time, ABC implemented the reruns on holidays rule, which remains in effect with GH even today. This was done to help reduce production costs, something which the WGA had a huge issue with. It backfired on the WGA, as it was just another way ABC used to try to keep their soaps on the air, given that their revenue was rapidly declining from what they had been getting in years past. There were better methods they could have used, but at the time, that's what the boneheads at ABC Daytime came up with, particularly as same-day repeats on SOAPnet were set to become a thing of the past. Remember, these are the same folks who thought turning SOAPnet into a "Sex and the City"-type network was a great concept when asked by Anne Sweeney to provide alternatives. In the end, Disney Jr. got the green light from the Disney Channel folks. Regarding seasons, just like talk shows (daytime and late night), soaps do have "season premieres," but it was more from an internal perspective rather than a marketing one. That changed in recent years, specifically for the soaps. The writers always have to provide an outline of their storylines for the next "season" to TPTB. With the ever-evolving world of TV (broadcast, cable and now streaming), every show has a "season" in terms of marketing. It is what it is.

I do not anticipate Fridays being dumped for soap original episodes like I once thought they might do in years past, likely programming Fridays with different types of content. I say that because currently Fridays remain a viable day for the soaps, with fans tuning in for Cliffhanger Friday again. It's odd. Late night lost the fight for Friday because their hosts kept asking for more money and more vacation time. See Kimmel.

ALL: Speculation on the Future of Successful Daytime Soap Operas
We need to kill this rumor/lore. If OLTL were under budget, it would have lost money for subsequent years in terms of the budget. The show was within budget, not under. What killed the show was that it and AMC were down significantly in the key demos compared to previous quarters, so the decision was made to cancel, particularly as ABC Daytime was dealing with the loss of ad dollars due to the housing crisis that led to the economic crisis. The ratings OLTL had just before the cancellation announcement are confusing people, giving them the idea that OLTL was doing well on the network. By the time those numbers started to grow, the decision was already made. Plus, there's no evidence that the ratings would have stayed on the upswing had the network decided to reverse course. All the above said, I want to be clear I'm not calling you out @DRW50. I'm just calling out the OLTL part in terms of budget.

It's not.

DAYS: July 2025 Discussion Thread
I wasn't implying you said that. I vaguely remember reading somewhere that when their material started airing that it would initially be to clean up the former head writer's material, with their original stories kicking off in September. Clearly, I misread or misremembered, cause I can't source it at the moment.

Can't see embedded instagrams
I can also confirm I did nothing on my end either, so it definitely appears to have been an issue on Instagram's end.

Setting Change: No More Auto Merged Posts
Something that has annoyed me for years, and I'm sure many of you as well, has been resolved. I'm specifically referring to auto-merging of posts when you want to add something to a post you recently made. Generally, if you want to post something in the same thread but no one else has posted within 15 minutes of your original post, all posts made within that time frame would auto-merge into the same post. This was often a problem as people would be responding to something you might have said, but didn't see the additional comments you might have made until after they made their post, or not at all. To keep things cleaner and to stop this problem from continuing, we have finally found a way to remove that setting altogether. This means that all posts you make going forward will appear as separate posts within a thread. This is either great news for most of you or not so great for others. I'm not really sure, but I know it was something that bothered me. If this was not the right call, please do let me know. Update: I should add that because the setting for auto-merging posts has been turned off, a flood control setting is automatically being activated, which means users can't make a new post for at least 3 seconds. -- Errol SON Administration
