  1. They've certainly laid enough groundwork for something to have taken place. Either next week will confirm something happened, or lay theories to rest permanently.
  2. I agree---the tornado was kind of random and not very well executed. I guess they chose having a crush of extras vs setting up a fire. I have a theory --I don't think those history dumps were random. Something soapy went on around Kat and Eva's births.
  3. Finally the show delivered some drama. I didn't find everything successful, but having Kat and Eva trapped was classic old school soap. As was Bill and Dani. I can see Jacob and Kat developing feels for each other, now that they've both endured these traumas. Soaps gonna soap. Dirty deeds done dirt cheap...
  4. You would think it would've been a piece of cake for her. I'm not sure if she introduced "J" or not, but how could she not understand who Nola was and what the viewers expected from her return to Springfield? I'm still shocked at how badly it went.
  5. I don't know how McTavish got hired, but P&G was stepping up efforts to mimic primetime. They hired Stern and Black to write ATWT in early '96, and it was so disastrous, they were replaced before the year was out. (Stern and Black had written for Falcon Crest) I'm sure P&G hoped McTavish would be their "lightening in a bottle" ala Pam Long, hiring an actress/writer. I'm not sure McTavish hated the show, but she no longer understood it. The way she handled Nola's return proved that.
  6. True, but he was already brewing the breakup, with Josh starting to manipulate Morgan and her interest in modeling.
  7. It took me forever to even think of any history between Rick and Reva--then I remembered he dated her sister. LOL. I'm a little surprised that he didn't have ol' Hill waiting in the wings when Kelly and Morgan broke up. But as Marland seemed unable to focus on anyone other than Nola and Carrie. Most of the other women languish, for lack of a better word.
  8. Ugh...yeah. You wonder why people didn't think Josh was just crazy for STAYING involved with the woman.
  9. They dated, and you'd assume have sex, ...but....*shrug* ...if they did it must not've been very good. She also briefly dates Josh (they go to Quint and Nola's engagement, and there's maybe something going on, but it's hard to tell.)
  10. There's a lot of unhealthy obsessing going on in the early 80s. At least Vanessa got sex despite it all. Hillary was a freakin' NUN. (I'm not sure she had sex between Roger and Jim.)
  11. My question would be what "on screen romance"? Ol' Hillary was friend zoned from the beginning (from what I can tell) and Kelly was clueless about her crush as he obsessed over Morgan.
  12. I checked the SOD synopsis for '87, and can't didn't see the new administrator's name mentioned. That year, Phillip was poisoned, Alan had a heart attack, Marah underwent DNA testing, Johnny had cancer and Meredith brought Rick up on charges with the medical board (she dismissed them around Christmas.) So there was plenty of action around the hospital.
  13. Nope. Twice in supporting, once in lead. If you need something happy to focus on, Jerry ver Dorn was nominated seven times in the '90's in supporting. lol.
  14. Neither her picture or her character's name ring a bell. I checked the soap hoppers thread; slick includes the designation or "Administrator", leading me to believe she was the hospital administrator after Maureen quit. No doubt a sign of the times. Bernau not only would've had stiffer competition, (there were at least 14 shows) and supporting wasn't a category until 1979. As much criticism as we dish out, he only had to have one good episode to submit. His noms come in the '00s, when the likes of Shemar Moore won in supporting. (I mean, c'mon.) I'm a little more surprised Raines got a lead nom (the same year as Robert Newman, ), over Deas. Although it looks like Deas just stopped submitting.
