A day without PEM is a day of happiness, even if I do love Emily again.

Okay, I'm probably in the minority, but I am loving the Maddie storyline. I love how intervention-like the scenes with her were today, as she told her family and the police about what happened to her back in Chicago. The way she described it fit her character so well. All of her friends rag on her for being so into her education and for not "lightening up" so she sucks it up, goes to the party, takes a few sips of beer, and somehow she got screwed up. I am really loving this storyline and I love Eve already. I assume she's going to be on temporarily, but I wouldn't be opposed to her becoming a regular character. Snappy wardrobe, Mrs. Browning.

Luke goes back to hitting the bottle. Poor thing. Kevin was being a complete and total jackass today with Luke and that Ada seemed very airheaded. Of course, the show ends with the typical "swerve to the LEFT" car crash scene.

The Carly stuff is intriguing me. Nice to see some Oakdale citizens going back into business. Are Lucinda and Carly on good terms? Because the two of them plus Simon would be awesome together in a business storyline. And didn't Barbara say something about getting back at BRO? Complete wonder.

Call me crazy, but I like Mike and Katie. Don't see the point in Vienna, though. She needs to go. Her purpose has been served.

Definitely better than yesterday's episode.

Good Show today, and yes it was great to be PEMless today, though Mike and Katie were a bore. Loved the Luke stuff(though that accident was done way to fake for me) also after today I am sure that Kevin is Gay. I loved Lucy going after Damian. The Maddie stuff was also pretty good, seeing as they finally told us what was going on with her. I think I am going to like whatever is going on with Simon and Carly. As for Mike and Katie they just need to go away.

I haven't watched today's show yet, and may not have time to. What happened to give you that idea? Kevin has been kind of a jerk lately, but I hope he really is gay. Luke needs some happiness!

It seems so obvious. The second I heard Maddie was supposedly living with her sister and her husband I thought he must have raped her.

Maddie's storyline is very predictable. I think that if they involve Henry and Margo a lot more, though, it could be at least watachable.

Luke's storyline is just dragging at this point. It's almost getting to the level that PEM has been at.

I'm in the minority, but I've never liked Kevin. He's not that cute...his face makes him look like a 40-year-old guy. He obviously doesn't care too much about Luke because, even though he knew that Luke had had a kidney transplant, they would still booze it up together and got in trouble. Honestly, Luke can do a lot better. He'll find the right guy, though the writers will probably write him off to do so.

ATWT should definitely start showing characters actually working! Aside from the OPD and the staff at memorial, nobody seems to work in this town. Even Will, who up until yesterday was broke, never seemed to work.

It was nice to see some nice normal conversations.

After watching the show, and seeing Eve's presence, it's going to turn out that her hubby attacked Maddie, and she just can't remember it

Well, traditionally with US soaps, there's a "teaser" before the opening titles that, in most cases, resolves the cliffhanger from the previous episode. Most soaps started to use them in the 70s, I think. Nowadays, the teaser is usually used to not only resolve the cliffhanger, but also give kinda like a preview of what storylines and such will be featured in today's episode (like, and I'm totally making this up, but today, they could have had Luke, Kevin, and their gal pals show up in the woods in the teaser as well as Carly showing up at Katie and Mike's and Eve and Henry showing up at the police station -- I'm not sure if those things were seen in today's teaser, but that's the normal teaser stuff).

Sometimes, if the cliffhanger from the previous episode was really BIG, they might repeat the cliffhanger at the beginning and seamlessly continue where it left off at. I don't know if any other soaps did this, but "Dark Shadows" almost always replayed the entire last scene of the previous episode as its teaser.

One of the cool things about teasers is how at the very end of them, you usually get the typical "soap look" with the puzzled faces and dropped jaws as the camera zooms in and fades to black before the opening. Something about that just screams soapy to me.

ARGH! I would have never thought of that, and now that you said it, that seems like the way they are going.

But I'm still going to enjoy the storyline as it plays out.

Simon to me didn't start his wheels rolling on Carly until after he eavesdropped on her and Katie on the phone.

Right after Vienna went on and on about Matie to him and how it's over, and how he's here for her. Simon may say he's in Oakdale not for Katie but I think he's playing something here. Going slow and waiting her out?

Nobody knows her better than him. He knows how to push her buttons.

I thought today's show was pretty good

First I really liked the Luke stuff, but to me it seems that Kevin is now definately straight.

I also am enjoying the maddie s/l, i am just tired of the same old flashbacks, but i to think it is the brother in law.

I really liked the aggressive Lucy we say today.

What was up with holden's hair, it almost looked as if he was going for a mullet look
