He's a hack. Any writer that doesn't strive to improve their craft is resting on laurels or simply a hack. I take pride in my work. I wouldn't shove any material i'm not comfortable with.

I enjoy Jammy, but loathe that Dinah is on the backburner, Alan a cartoon, forced couplings and Reva's silly cancer escapades. Try again.

I've got every episode this month in a folder at Rapidshare

http://rapidshare.de/users/TLSRQM/5

The password is rvds in lowercase letters. Just go in the July 2006 folder for the list of clips.

You can check out CBS's update archive to see which episodes you want to see:

http://www.cbs.com/daytime/gl/updates/dail..._lastweek.shtml

Bless you. I have to d/l these at school or work.

James E. Reilly has said he watches PSNS, DAYS, GL, and GH every day. He's said this on multiple occassions.

lol, now that makes me really on Kreizman's side when the worst writer in daytime dabbles his hand in everything.

I think from reading the quote that he probably watches specific parts such as when two characters interact for the first time or a new story thread puts some feelers out. Maybe they do see lots of the production film so unless he has control over the directors? most things on the canvas he's already watched. Like I said earlier if they wait to watch until it's aired they are already filming two weeks past that and maybe writing a week or two ahead of that.

Of course Charity Rohmer made it that two weeks before JER saw her.

Everytime I read this I get upset!!!!

This man is running a show for crying out loud. It shouldn't matter if it is two weeks or three weeks in advance. Or even more...he should have the CBS.com/daytime update in front of him and read it then watch and see how that is playing out!!!

I love GL and ATWT desperately, because they are the shows my Granny watched and she made me fall in love with them. This show is bore:

- Alan is a cartoon villian!

- Alexandra is nowhere to be found.

- They ruined Phillip by killing him and she expecting Grant to come back...stupid! stupid! move. I've said it before they should have slapped him with a contract that said if he leaked the story he would be fined. And brought him back, now the character is in limbo and I'm at least pissed off at the fact that Alan "Murdered" him. BORING!!!

- Beth run a muck...kidnapping Gus and Alan, goes crazy and then fallout of her actions are NOTHING. A Lorelie story again would have made more sense.

- Lizzie should be with Coop...dealing with their baby. AVA needs to go, she's a waste of space, a contract, money and so much more!

- Harley and Gus...used to interesting, rootable and now they're just blah!

- Dinah getting married...gag me! I like her semi-reformed good girl with bad girl qualities.

- Mallet...SEE ABOVE regarding AVA. No need to have every man Harley's ever slept with in town, I mean honestly. They should have brought A-M back, like the did and little bit older would have been nice, (SAY IT W/ME Ellen....Scott Holroyd) and paired him with Dinah.

- If you are gonna have Remi then either make him gay or make him fall for Marina...at least he hasn't slept with your momma and you never thought he was your daddy.

- Blake as Mayor?? SNOOZZZ...wake me when that is over.

- Holly Who??????

- Rick and Mel have been married four years folks, not twenty-four or less as you would have us believe...plus that defeats the purpose what the Mel and Rick story was, they came together after Rick and Harley were making a "Marriage" goal of life, despite the fact he loved Mel and she loved Gus. Again no point in Leah.

- Reva?? I'm sorry I love Kim Zimmer and I know she likes the story, but Josh doesn't or would not care about anything other than Reva. Let's see him grieve with her about the cancer.

- Cassie, hands off JOSHUA!!! Okay...I would love to see Billy off the wagon again and this time Cassie picks up the pieces and orders him to steer clear of Reva...only to fall in love with him.

- Jon and Tammy...No clue

- Liv with Frank...okay I'll invest maybe a little but there a bore right at the moment...I have always wanted Beth/Frank pairing. I say GL should have let Crystal go to OLTL...Olivia is just a second class citizen in Springfield these days with a lackluster storyline.

- Buzz/Holly/Alexandra....NUFF said

- Jeffery....gets hit by a car or something after Blake takes to the bottle over losing Ross

THIS IS THE SHOW I'M WATCHING DAVE AND IT BLOWS CHUNKS...MAYBE HE SHOULD STOP FF AND WATCH WHAT US THE LOYAL AND DEVOTED FANS ARE SEEING......

Okay I'm stepping off my soap box now! Thank you.

I agree with much of what you said Josh. I have a great deal of trouble calling this show Guiding Light. The show that I know and love has been gone for awhile now and I've accepted that. However, that doesn't keep me from feeling sad about the show's imminent cancellation. Nor does it keep me from getting angry about the litany of poor decisions that the show's brass has commited over the years.

I know that David Kreizman does not share all the blame for that, but he certainly has more than his fair share. Under his watch, the show has truly run aground, in more than one way. I understand also that the show has undergone massive budget cuts over the years. However, those budget cuts have been used to outright excuse the show's poor quality and that is what I do not agree with. In the early days, daytime had miniscule budgets, but they had the talent, the vision and the heart to pull through. Instead, they used those same cuts to alienate the core fans of the show in favor of a younger audience. Unfortunately, they have forgotten that old adage that beggars cannot and should not be choosers.

What I see from GL now is simply a series of missed opportunities. Some of those have the small budget to blame, but many others lie at the feet of an utterly incompetent headwriter. While trying to grab those young viewers, David Kreizman has emphasized shock value over true down-to-earth storytelling. Quasi-incestual couples, sexual indiscretion, and hawt emotional and physical abuse take the place of romance. Gone are the days of consistent, complex, and interesting characters. Kreizman's characters shed their personalities like underwear, and put on a different pair each day or whenever the plot demands. Hell, Kreizman probably thinks that "character-driven" is a brand new type of car. However, given all this, I believe that the biggest problem with the latest bastardization of Guiding Light is a lack of heart. What set GL apart from every other soap was its heart. I still see some flickers of that heart, mostly in scenes with Reva, Billy and Josh. Currently, the show feels generic. And GL has never been generic.

I know I may look like the countless fans who can't let go of the past and cannot climb on the bandwagon that is GL's new direction. I know that there are many on these message boards who complain about the negativity from us candleholders. And I have to agree, I don't like being negative all the time with my favorite show. However, when GL's "new direction" leads to cancellation, everyone loses.

Like Josh said, I love GL because I grew up watching it (along w/ ATWT and AW) w/ my grandmother. But if she were alive today, she would be horrified at what's happened to her soap. Sometimes it pains me that I can't even watch the show someone b/c, if it got cancelled, I would be devestated. So can I blame Kreizman for not watching the show when sometimes I don't? Yes, b/c unlike me, he has the opportunity to change the show and make it better...or at least let it go out in dignity.

When I watch this show, I just don't see Guiding Light. Sure, there are some familiar characters, but overall, this is a new show. This isn't what a grew up watching.

Alan is a cartoon villian!

Completely agreed. Alan Spaulding is nothing but a joke now, and complete one note villian these days. Before Weston and Kreizman, even the character of Alan Spaulding had depth, but the TPTB have turned him and most of the Spauldings into a family of one note villians. I enjoy the fact that they are utilizing Ron Raines more, but I ask at what cost?

- Alexandra is nowhere to be found.

Nowhere to be found and yet again I must add completely destoryed as a character. In just a matter of years the revolving door of writers since Taggart and Culliton have been able to drive the character into the ground. They have done this mostly by removing her spine, her depth, her heart, her soul, and her brain. Under Weston she was a reincarnation of Carmen Santos. Now under DK she's a MIA wimp who was even too scared to fight for Spaulding (which was like her life's motivation) when Phillip sent her to work in the mail room.

BORING!!!

Read my lips Kreizman....PHILLIP SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN KILLED!!! What was this guy thinking? "Hm lets write a muder mystery and write as we go, not knowing the ending, and while we're at let's destory everyone's character who's involved!". This story destroyed Harley, Gus, Rick, Alan, Lizzie, Beth, and Alex for me.

- Beth run a muck...kidnapping Gus and Alan, goes crazy and then fallout of her actions are NOTHING. A Lorelie story again would have made more sense.

As much as I am LOVING Beth Chamberlain's portrayl as evil Beth, WTF? This is not the sweet and sensitive Beth I read about in the 80s. Heck this isn't even the Beth, Brown and Esensten brought back. No this DK's Beth. A one note vixen with amnesia. Has she forgotten that Alan killed the love of her life? I agree a Lorelei story would have made much more sense, but I get the feeling that nobody on the writing team even remembers Lorelei.

- Lizzie should be with Coop...dealing with their baby. AVA needs to go, she's a waste of space, a contract, money and so much more!

Lizzie shouldn't be this way period. She shouldn't be a !@#$%^&*]. She shouldn't be crazy. I guess this all roots back to Weston. I do applaud DK for working with what was left of GL and Lizzie, and salvaging her by attempting to make her a spoiled brat, yet with a conscious. I loved watching CH's Lizzie struggle with the fact that she had hit Sandy with her car. However since then I feel that after all that has happened to this girl with her father dying, that she hasn't grown as a character one bit. I resent the fact that Lizzie, and Beth still even talk to Alan.

Ava had a smidge of potential when she first joined as Sandy's wife. I had the impression that this character was going to be a villian, someone I would love to hate, and it would have been nice to make her Olivia's daughter. However I was quickly proven wrong. She's weak, simple minded, and whiny. No way in hell does she deserve to be Olivia's daughter or even on the show taking up precious airtime. With the way things are now Coop and Lizzie do deserve to be together.

- Harley and Gus...used to interesting, rootable and now they're just blah!

- Dinah getting married...gag me! I like her semi-reformed good girl with bad girl qualities.

Agreed. Dinah is DK's only saving grace for me.

I agree there was no need to bring back Mallet.

I've noticed that DK doesn't care that much for coporate intregue. Just giving Harley the company sucks ass, and DK can lick my balls if he expects me to buy this. We've been put into this wash, rinse, and repeat situation between A-M and Harley. 1) A-M comes up with a scheme to win back Spaulding 2)Harley, Marina Gus, Dinah, or I believe Mallet this time thwarts his plans and we're back at #1.

It would be nice if the show recognized that Alan-Michael was part Bauer and Spaulding.

- If you are gonna have Remi then either make him gay or make him fall for Marina...at least he hasn't slept with your momma and you never thought he was your daddy.

The relationship between A-M and Marina has destroyed both characters for me. Alan-Michael(recasted) deserves to be with either these three ladies: 1) Olivia 2) Blake or 3) Dinah. Pairing him with Marina just came out of left field for me. Why Frank isn't doing more to keep the two apart doesn't make sense to me either.

- Blake as Mayor?? SNOOZZZ...wake me when that is over.

Boring and just another WTF moment with Kreizman and Co. So many other occupations were more fitting of Blake, like Spaulding Executive, running the Springfield Journal or Mirror, or even getting involved at WSPR. Blake running as a canidate for Mayor just doesn't make sense for me even though her husband was Mayor. I never really saw Ross as a small town Mayor anyway. Senator or Congressman; yes. District Attorney; yes. Mayor; no.

- Holly Who??????

I've come to realize the fact that Holly will never be seen on this show again. She's completely fallen off the face of the earth. It's a sad fact considering that during KZ's absence on the show in the early 90s, MG sort of became THE Leading Actress of the show around that time. What I don't understand is why did DK give her a story when he first came on, and later drop her like a hot potato months later. Sure her story was mostly a flop, but there are still tons of story potential for the character.

Another left fielder for Davey.

- Reva?? I'm sorry I love Kim Zimmer and I know she likes the story, but Josh doesn't or would not care about anything other than Reva. Let's see him grieve with her about the cancer.

Who thought the TPTB could screw up writing such a sensitive storyline. I guess since the story did require heart, it would be one of the many reasons this story would be such a flop considering that's what is missing from the show.

- Cassie, hands off JOSHUA!!! Okay...I would love to see Billy off the wagon again and this time Cassie picks up the pieces and orders him to steer clear of Reva...only to fall in love with him.

I've always thought that making Cassie into this sympathetic heroine was a mistake. When Cassie first came to town she was no angel, and I wish they could have kept it that way.

- Jon and Tammy...No clue

Talk about shoving characters down our throats. If there is one thing David Kreizman does well it is shoving a couple or a character down our throats to the point that it irritates or annoys the viewer.

- Liv with Frank...okay I'll invest maybe a little but there a bore right at the moment...I have always wanted Beth/Frank pairing. I say GL should have let Crystal go to OLTL...Olivia is just a second class citizen in Springfield these days with a lackluster storyline.

I love Olivia, but I hate her pairing with Frank AND Buzz. DK's desrtuction of GL wasn't complete until he had to connect EVERY single character to the Coopers. Olivia deserves to be more involved with the whole Spaulding Corporate drama. If they hadn't wrecked Edmund's character I would say pair her up with him. I will never understand why they never went down that road. Instead of making Edmund this psycho villian who kidnaps and attempts to kill people, they should have gotten him involved in the corporate intregue with the show. I believe Taggart and Culliton had this in mind when they were writing the show.

- Jeffery....gets hit by a car or something after Blake takes to the bottle over losing Ross

I wish this character had never been created at all.

When David Kreizman first joined I had high hopes for him, believing that he was the up and coming Harding Lemay. However he quickly dashed those hopes with the continued destruction of the show. The show has once again lost it's warmth, heart, and soul that kept me as a viewer for nearly 12 years. The show is only a shell of its former self now.

If there was ever anyone capable of writing GL the way it was supposed to be I would honestly say that it is Lorraine Broderick. She has proven each time whenever she's at the reigns that she understands and knows the show. This was shown in late 2004, and before that from 1992-1993.

By the way, while we are discussing GL. I just read in SOD that Reva needs a bone marrow transplant. I thought she had BREAST cancer, not something like lukemia! Usually, the treatment for breast cancer is either chemotherapy, radiation, or a mastectomy, where they surgically remove the entire breast.

As much as I don't like Kriezman, I googled bone marrow transplants and it is something that is often used to treat cancer because chemotherapy destroys a lot of the cells and it can spread to the bone marrow. So he may be terrible, but not for this reason.

The biggest disappointment which is staggering on this show is Alan. He is a cartoon bore. Kidnapping teenage girls now? Gimme a break.
